Abstract

The paper examined the factors that hinder the effective implementation of the Universal Basic Education Policy in Adamawa State, Nigeria. Four research questions and four research objectives guided the study. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of 254 junior secondary schools, 4500 teachers, and 254 principals in Adamawa state. The sample of the study was drawn using deliberate and stratified random sampling techniques, while a proportionate sampling technique was used to determine the sample size required from each school. Data for the study was obtained using a questionnaire. The instrument was validated by measurement, evaluation, and education management experts in the Department of Educational Foundations, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. A pilot test was conducted using Cronbach Alpha, and a reliability index of 0.79 was realized. Data collected was analyzed using frequency counts, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while an independent T-test was used to test the hypothesis generated. Findings from the study indicated that: insufficient funding, poor planning, and inadequate professionally qualified teachers are some of the challenges that mar the successful implementation of the UBE program in Adamawa state. The study recommended, among others, that the government should make efforts to counter the factors which have become impediments to the successful implementation of the UBE program, such as the provision of adequate funding, qualified professional teachers, and instructional materials.

Abstract

The goal of this research is that the authors are not in the discussion of catcalling, joking, or compliments that lead to sexual harassment, even though they are all part of sexual harassment. In addition, the authors are also not on a case-by-case exploration of sexual harassment. Researchers rather present the diversity of voices of sexual harassment survivors who are traumatized and then dare to rise with a variety of experiences as resistance to trauma. This qualitative research uses data search and analysis techniques through interviews with three research subjects. The results showed that although the victim limped out of the grip of prolonged trauma, over time, the victim managed to rise through parental support and the diversion of positive and profitable activities for the victim. Support and business opportunities become mental treatment to be brave and resistance tools through oneself to be empowered.

Abstract

Traffic accidents as painful experiences can lead to various forms of psychological harm, such as mental illness, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depressive symptoms. However, human responses to pain-related events may vary. This study aimed to understand how accident survivors learn to make sense of their accident and how it impacts their daily lives. According to the research findings, some subjects still have difficulty accepting themselves after experiencing psychological distress and emotional shock. In contrast, others are motivated due to various situations and events that impact their psyche and daily life. The findings of this study also show that teaching a skill to subjects can improve their quality of life compared to not teaching it to them.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the extent to which narratives are aired, spread, staged, and raised through the three research subjects from Generation Z who are located in one of the provinces in Indonesia, namely the province of Central Kalimantan, especially from research subjects who come from three different high schools. Data searches through three different high schools display various narratives, subjective experiences as psychological experiences when dealing with turmoil, homework, and school, as well as forms of socialization that appear in students' daily lives. The research is based on qualitative research with data search through secondary sources. Secondary sources through various journals were obtained through previous research related to the topic, crossed each other, and gave distance while supporting the narratives displayed by the three research subjects from Central Kalimantan at the upper education unit level. In addition, researchers also used book sources as primary sources to support the poststructuralist presence. The results showed that although the three research subjects came from Generation Z, living in schools, homes, and other social environments, they showed different characteristics with the term characteristics attached to Generation Z. However, in the end, the researcher concluded that the characteristics of Generation Z differed from those of Generation Z. Although in the end, researchers concluded that the characteristics that are detected at the ontological level regarding Generation Z as part of the development or poststructuralist pattern, the facts on the ground speak that the place, school culture, and students become a marker that the culture itself even though it is developing, it still cannot be released even though the era shows now (when researchers conducted research) in poststructuralism as well as the presence of generation Z. The discontinuity of identity participation of the three research subjects is the continuation of the previous generations, namely the baby boomers, generation X, and Y.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period characterized by profound transformations in identity, moral cognition, and relational dynamics. This qualitative research study employs a multifaceted approach, combining discussions, observations, and literature review, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the interconnected elements of adolescent development. Through in-depth discussions with adolescents, educators, and caregivers, as well as observations in diverse educational settings, this study captures the nuanced interplay and complexities of adolescent identity formation, moral growth, and the role of supportive relationships. Thematic analysis of the collected data reveals significant insights into the impact of these factors on mental health, psychosocial functioning, and academic motivation. By integrating findings with existing literature, this study contributes to the knowledge base, providing practical strategies and implications for educators, caregivers, and researchers to foster positive adolescent development, well-being, and academic success. Ultimately, this research aims to promote holistic support for adolescents during this pivotal developmental stage.
