Abstract

Stunting in early childhood remains a major health concern in Nagari Tanjung Bungo, Kabupaten 50 Kota. This study aims to examine the influence of parenting patterns and nutritional intake on the incidence of stunting, as well as the role of Posyandu and the Community Service Program (KKN) in its prevention. Data were collected through monitoring child growth, interviews with families, and educational activities during KKN from June to July 2025. The results indicate that children with good parenting and balanced nutrition are less likely to experience stunting. Posyandu, as a community health service center, proved effective in raising awareness and supervising child development. However, challenges related to knowledge and access to nutritious food require further attention. Therefore, strengthening Posyandu’s role, community empowerment, and continuous education are crucial to reduce stunting rates in this area. This study provides valuable insights for improving parenting practices and nutrition for the better future of children.

Abstract

Gotong royong, a traditional cultural value, has long been an integral part of Indonesian community life, including in Nagari Tanjung Bungo. However, its spirit has declined due to modern developments. Through the Community Service Program (KKN), students collaborated with local residents in carrying out mutual cooperation activities aimed at reviving the values of togetherness and social care. These activities included environmental cleaning, public facility repairs, and garden arrangement, involving active participation from various community groups and students. The results showed an increased collective awareness of the importance of cooperation in building a clean and harmonious environment. Furthermore, students gained valuable firsthand experience that enhanced their understanding of social values and community responsibilities. Despite some challenges, effective solutions ensured smooth implementation and fostered positive synergy. This study confirms that preserving gotong royong is key to strengthening solidarity and sustainable community development.

Abstract

The revitalization of libraries in Sijantang Koto Village, Talawi District, Sawahlunto City, is a strategic step to improve the quality of human resources through a literacy approach and strengthening reading culture. The revitalization of the village library aims to revive the village library as a strategic tool that aims to improve the literacy and knowledge of the village community. This study examines steps to revive the function of village libraries. The revitalization process is carried out with three aspects, namely; arrangement of library rooms, addition of collections and classification of books or numbering of openings and making literacy programs in the form of reading corners. The method used is Participatory Actions Research (PAR) which emphasizes on encouraging positive change for the community through observation, interviews, and data collection approaches to gain an understanding of the needs and potentials of the community in accessing knowledge. Therefore, the village library not only serves as a place to store books, but also as a center for community empowerment that focuses on improving educational knowledge

Abstract

This Community Service Program was conducted to foster discipline and responsibility among students of SMK Media Informatika through personal financial management education. Low financial literacy among vocational school students is a critical issue, considering their readiness to enter the workforce and achieve financial independence. The program was implemented using educational methods, interactive discussions, case studies, and simple financial management simulations covering budgeting, financial recording, and priority setting. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of personal financial management concepts as well as positive changes in attitudes toward more disciplined and responsible financial decision-making. This program highlights the importance of financial education as a life-skill-based character development strategy to prepare vocational students for future financial challenges.

Abstract

The low level of financial literacy and financial planning skills among vocational high school students remains a significant issue amid the increasing consumptive lifestyle of adolescents. This condition causes students to lack the ability to manage pocket money systematically, distinguish between needs and wants, and develop consistent saving habits. This community service program aims to improve early financial planning skills to foster students’ financial independence at SMK Media Informatika. The program was implemented using an educational and participatory approach, including the delivery of financial literacy materials, interactive discussions, pocket money management simulations, and practical exercises in recording income and expenses. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the importance of financial planning, their ability to prepare simple budgets, and positive behavioral changes toward more disciplined and responsible personal financial management. This activity confirms that early financial planning education plays an important role in developing students’ financial independence.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a crucial role in preparing students who possess not only technical competencies but also leadership character and a sense of responsibility. In school activities, students are often involved in committees and the management of activity funds; however, limited understanding of leadership and proper financial management is still commonly found. Therefore, this Community Service program aims to enhance leadership attitudes and responsibility among students of SMK Media Informatika Petukangan Selatan in managing school activity funds.The program employed an educational and participatory approach through material delivery, discussions, and simulations of simple school activity fund management. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of leadership roles, responsibility, and basic skills in planning, utilizing, and reporting activity funds in a simple and accountable manner. This program is expected to contribute positively to students’ character development and to support the improvement of practical and contextual learning quality in the school environment.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve communication skills and teamwork in developing the potential of students at SMK Media Informatika. This program was conducted in response to students’ limited ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within teams, which are essential skills in both education and the workplace. The implementation methods included material presentations, interactive discussions, simulations, and group activities designed using a participatory approach. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of effective communication, their ability to express ideas, and mutual respect within teamwork. In addition, students showed increased self-confidence and active participation during group activities. This community service program plays an important role in strengthening students’ soft skills to support personal development and better prepare them for future workplace challenges

Abstract

Financial management skills are a crucial aspect in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of vocational school students. However, many students still have a consumptive financial management pattern and the mistaken belief that entrepreneurship requires large capital. This community service activity aims to foster a productive and creative mindset in financial management for Media Informatika Vocational School students as a foundation for entrepreneurship. The methods used include interactive workshops, daily financial management simulations, group discussions, and mentoring in developing simple business plans. The target group is 30 12th-grade students. The results of the activity indicate an increase in students' understanding of the importance of financial management, a shift from a consumptive to a productive mindset, and increased interest and courage in starting small businesses with realistic financial calculations. This activity confirms that a practical and contextual approach is effective in developing an entrepreneurial mindset in vocational school students.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious problem that still frequently occurs in elementary school environments and is often overlooked, despite its significant impact on students’ psychological well-being, self-confidence, social relationships, and academic achievement. As an effort toward early prevention, the 2025 Community Service Program (KKN) of Padang State University (UNP) carried out a concrete initiative entitled “Dare to Speak, Dare to Care” through an anti-bullying campaign at SD Negeri 19, Sijantang Koto Village, Sawahlunto City. This program aimed to foster a culture of empathy, care, and mutual respect among students, while also equipping teachers and school staff with the knowledge and strategies needed to handle bullying effectively. The activities included interactive counseling sessions, educational video screenings, group discussions, role-playing simulations, and the distribution of educational posters and flyers designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and inclusive. Reflection results indicated an increase in students’ understanding of various forms of bullying as well as greater courage to speak up and care for others. Overall, the program was considered effective and has the potential to serve as a sustainable, school-based bullying prevention model.

Abstract

A community service program through fruit seedling planting and street lighting activities in Sasak Panjang Village, Tajur Halang District, Bogor Regency aims to improve environmental quality and community comfort. The implementation method is participatory through field surveys and outreach. The results of the activity show an increase in community awareness of the environment, improvements in the aesthetics of public spaces, and increased security and comfort for residents. Key success factors are high community participation and support from the Sasak Panjang Village Head and her staff. This program is a model of community service that integrates ecological and social aspects.
