Abstract

The issue of waste remains a serious challenge in Indonesia, particularly due to a lack of public awareness regarding the long-term impact of inorganic waste. The Community Service Program (KKN) of students from the University of Padang in Kubang Sirakuk Selatan Village, Sawalunto City, addressed this issue by designing and implementing the “Waste Decomposition Educational Board” program. The primary objective of this initiative was to raise public awareness through visual media that convey information about types of waste and their estimated decomposition times in nature. The implementation methods included site surveys, content design, the creation of educational boards using recycled materials, and their installation at strategic locations near schools and main roads. An evaluation was conducted 20 days after installation through direct interviews with residents, showing that the presence of the information boards effectively improved residents' understanding and behavior in managing waste. This activity also supports the achievement of SDGs points 11 and 12, particularly in creating sustainable communities and responsible consumption and production. The results of this program show that visual media-based environmental education in public spaces can be an effective tool for transforming community behavior toward waste issues.

Abstract

The commemoration of 1 Muharram organized by students of the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) of Universitas Negeri Padang in Nagari Campago aimed to foster Islamic values and strengthen the religious character of the community, particularly among children. This activity was designed as an educational program integrated with local cultural traditions, including a torch parade and religious competitions such as Qur’anic Recitation (Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an/MTQ), Qur’an Memorization (Tahfidz), and the Adhan. All activities involved children from local Qur’anic learning centers (TPA) and received active participation from the community. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, documentation, and activity records during the implementation of the program. The results indicate an increase in religious enthusiasm, social participation, and stronger social cohesion among community members. Furthermore, the program contributed positively to children’s character development, particularly in enhancing self-confidence, fostering a love for the Qur’an, and encouraging the courage to perform in public. Support from community leaders and the local government played a crucial role in the successful implementation of this program

Abstract

The inter-village futsal tournament held in Nagari Campago was one of the contributions of the Community Service Program (KKN) students from Padang State University (UNP) to fostering a spirit of sport among youth. This activity not only encouraged youth participation in sports but also strengthened solidarity and togetherness among village residents. This research used descriptive qualitative methods to explore the active role of the KKN students in facilitating the activity and its impact on the community. The results showed that the presence of the KKN students directly encouraged the creation of a sporting culture and strengthened social bonds among youth in Nagari Campago. Therefore, the involvement of KKN student through a sports-based community approach can serve as an effective model for youth empowerment in other nagari

Abstract

One type of experience-based learning called an internship aims to improve students' abilities through direct involvement in the world of work. This article will explain how internships are carried out by students of the Education Management Study Program at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and analyze how internships contribute to improving student abilities. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach that uses data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and literature study. The results of the activities show that students are actively involved in administrative tasks such as data management, documentation, and work coordination. This indicates that students can apply their theories to the real world. Internships improve students' soft skills, such as responsibility, discipline, communication, and teamwork, in addition to improving their technical skills. Although there are several operational obstacles related to infrastructure, filing systems, and work coordination, adjustments have been made to reduce these problems.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a pillar of the national economy, including in rural areas such as Nagari Dalko, Jorong Koto Panjang, Agam Regency. Kalidin coffee and cinnamon are two local commodities with high sales value but have not been optimally managed, especially in terms of marketing and distribution. This article discusses the digitalization strategy of MSMEs as a solution to increase the economic value of local commodities through the use of digital technology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a community-based participatory approach. The analysis shows that digitalization can increase market access, improve production processes, and develop product branding. The digitalization of MSMEs is expected to not only increase the competitiveness of local products but also create an inclusive and sustainable digital entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Abstract

Plastic waste scattered in the environment is a serious problem for life because of the many negative impacts caused by the substances contained in it. Plastic waste takes decades or even hundreds of years to decompose. One creative and innovative way to reduce the problem of plastic waste is by utilizing it in the manufacture of various functional products with the ecobrick method. This article discusses how to make ecobricks into environmentally friendly writing creations in the Dalko Jorong Koto Panjang sub-district. This project activity includes the active participation of students and the Jorong Koto Panjang community in the process of collecting plastic waste, making ecobricks, and assembling iron that says "AIE UBEK" which is one of the well-known bathing places in Jorong Koto Panjang. The results of the activity show a positive impact in addition to providing aesthetic value, but also increasing awareness for students and the community about the importance of protecting the environment from the threat of plastic waste.

Abstract

Seni mural dipilih sebagai sarana komunikasi visual yang efektif untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan moral, sosial, dan budaya kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa mural tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai elemen estetika yang memperindah lingkungan jorong, tetapi juga menjadi media edukasi yang mampu meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap isu-isu penting seperti kebersihan lingkungan, pelestarian budaya, dan nilai kebersamaan. Partisipasi masyarakat dalam proses pembuatan mural turut memperkuat rasa memiliki dan kepedulian sosial. Mural di Jorong Koto Panjang menjadi representasi kreativitas lokal yang menggabungkan nilai seni dengan pesan edukatif, sehingga mampu menciptakan ruang publik yang inklusif dan inspiratif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan seni mural dapat dijadikan model pengembangan media pembelajaran nonformal berbasis komunitas sekaligus meningkatkan nilai estetika ruang publik di pejorongan.

Abstract

The Thematic Community Service Program (KKN Tematik) serves as a platform for applying appropriate technology to support local development planning. This community service activity implemented Augmented Reality (AR) as an interactive medium to visualize the 3D redesign of Masjid Ar-Rahman in Danau Kembar District, Solok Regency. A participatory action research (PAR) approach was applied to strengthen transparency and community engagement throughout the planning process. The workflow included on-site measurement and documentation, 2D drafting using AutoCAD, 3D modeling in SketchUp, realistic rendering and 360° panorama generation with Enscape, and WebAR/VR integration accessed via QR codes on smartphones. The AR visualization enabled residents and mosque stakeholders to understand spatial and architectural details more easily than conventional 2D drawings, facilitating feedback and shared understanding prior to implementation. Overall, AR-based visualization supported participatory planning for religious facilities and aligned with SDGs 4, 9, 11, 16, and 17 through digital literacy, innovation, inclusive community planning, transparent decision-making, and partnerships.

Abstract

The problem of household waste remains a major challenge in realizing a clean and healthy environment, especially in rural areas. Jatirejo Village, Madiun Regency, faces increasing household waste generation that has not been optimally managed due to a lack of public awareness and limitations in the integrated waste management system. This activity aims to empower the community in waste bank-based household waste management through a clean and healthy environment approach. The implementation method includes socialization and education about waste sorting, waste bank management training, operational assistance, and monitoring and evaluation of community participation. The results of the activity show an increase in public knowledge and awareness of the importance of waste management, increased household participation in waste sorting, and the establishment of a waste bank system that functions as a means of managing economically valuable waste. This program also contributes to efforts to reduce the burden of waste and create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.

Abstract

The Community Service (PKM) activity carried out by the Accounting Study Program of Victory University Sorong is the third activity at the request of the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Sorong Regency in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, specifically to introduce and train the use of Microsoft Excel applications to students of SMK Negeri 1 Sorong Regency. The results of this PKM activity A total of 15 participants were selected by the school based on the number of computers available in the school lab During the activity, participants showed high participation and enthusiasm, both in theory and practice sessions. This activity also received full support from the school, including the principal and accompanying teachers, who helped ensure the smooth implementation. In general, this PKM activity ran smoothly. This was achieved thanks to the support of the school and the lecturers of Victory University Sorong. This activity also involved 3rd semester accounting students. The purpose of this activity is to implement knowledge to students regarding excel formulas used for mathematical calculations (SUM, AVERAGE), logic (IF), data searches (VLOOKUP), text (LEFT, RIGHT, MID, CONCATENATE), or statistics (COUNT, MAX, MIN), helping to create excel templates that are ready to be used in practicing making journals, ledgers and financial reports that are automatically filled in.
