Abstract

Sudan has been facing a prolonged humanitarian crisis exacerbated by ongoing conflicts between military elites. This study aims to analyze the root causes of Sudan’s humanitarian crisis, the role of military elites in perpetuating the conflict, and the prospects for a sustainable resolution. Using a qualitative approach with the literature review method, this research examines various secondary sources, including official reports, academic journals, and historical accounts. The findings suggest that Sudan’s crisis is deeply rooted in historical injustices, political instability, economic inequality, and military dominance. The analysis highlights how military elites have exploited state resources and engaged in armed conflicts to maintain power, further worsening the humanitarian situation. Possible solutions include international mediation, grassroots movements, institutional reforms, and economic development to foster long-term peace. By providing a comprehensive understanding of Sudan’s crisis, this study offers insights into potential strategies to address the ongoing humanitarian disaster.

Abstract

This study explores the crisis of trust in political institutions, focusing on political parties, governments, and media. The objective is to identify the causes, impacts, and potential solutions to this growing mistrust. The research utilizes a qualitative approach, reviewing existing literature and analyzing case studies from various countries facing political instability and declining public trust. Results indicate that corruption, lack of transparency, misinformation, and limited public participation are primary causes of mistrust. These issues contribute to political instability, decreased voter participation, and increased social division. The discussion highlights the importance of transparency, accurate information, and public involvement in restoring trust. Implications suggest that strengthening political institutions and ensuring accountability are essential for rebuilding public confidence. Recommendations include promoting political education, enhancing media responsibility, increasing public engagement in political processes, and ensuring greater government transparency. The findings emphasize the need for a collaborative effort between the government, media, and the public to address the crisis of trust. This study advocates for the adoption of long-term strategies to restore legitimacy in political institutions, which is critical for maintaining democratic stability and fostering public participation in governance.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is reshaping global power dynamics through technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This paper explores the geopolitical implications of 4IR, particularly focusing on the concept of technological sovereignty and its impact on great power politics. As nations compete for technological supremacy, their strategies for achieving and maintaining control over critical technologies have become central to both national security and economic policies. This study adopts a qualitative research approach, employing case study analysis to examine the technological strategies of leading global powers, including the United States, China, and the European Union. Additionally, document analysis is used to explore policy reports and academic literature related to technological sovereignty, 4IR, and geopolitical rivalries. Thematic and comparative analyses are utilized to identify key patterns in the strategies of these powers, highlighting the intersection of technological competition, national security, and economic strategies. The findings of this research underscore the importance of technological sovereignty in the context of 4IR and provide insights into how nations navigate the complex terrain of global technological leadership.

Abstract

Technology continues to develop and affect several fields, including politics. Political education usually only obtained in formal education such as schools and universities has shifted to social media. The purpose of this research is to explain how social media can increase public knowledge about politics and social media in the digital era has changed its function, which used to be only to communicate with others but now social media can be used for political education. Agenda setting theory is used to find out how Instagram social media on pinterpolitik and totalpolitik accounts educate the public. Methodology This article uses a qualitative description approach with a literature study. Primary data comes from recent books and journals on political education, political communication, and social media. Secondary data comes from observation, the socialblade.com website from July 2019 to January 2024, and social media information. This study's result is that pinterpolitik accounts educate with content that contains interesting infographics, interesting titles, trusted sources, interesting visuals, current political issues, and short, concise, and clear content. Meanwhile, the totalpolitikcom account is slightly different from the pinterpolitik account on Instagram account, the difference can be seen in the uploaded content where they use images and provide captions on the content below the image, and per content uploaded on Instagram, totalpolitikcom uses an average of 2 slides of content. In the future, research on political education through social media can be carried out with a more in-depth analysis and the object of research is not only two accounts, this is because of comparison with other social media accounts that discuss political education.
