Abstract

Existing landfills in Kediri Regency and City are experiencing overcapacity conditions which are influenced by the increasing volume of waste along with the increasing population and the rapid development of urban areas. The Regional Landfill in Kediri Regency which is a national project based on Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 80 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of Economic Development in the Gresik - Bangkalan - Mojokerto - Surabaya - Sidoarjo - Lamongan, Bromo - Tengger - Semeru, and Selingkar Wilis - Lintas Selatan areas and is part of the Kediri Regency Regional Spatial Plan needs to be analyzed for location feasibility. The feasibility of the location of the Regional Landfill is the goal of this research with a spatial approach using Geographic Information Systems by considering the parameters in SNI 03-3241-1994 concerning Procedures for Selecting the Location of Waste Landfills. The selected variables are constraining factors consisting of regional criteria, namely geological conditions, hydrogeological conditions, slope, protected areas, distance to airfields, flood susceptibility and distance to water bodies. The feasible locations for regional landfill based on spatial analysis using GIS are in Ngadiluwih, Kras, Purwoasri, and Mojo sub-districts.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and map the differences in ethnobotany of residential gardens with cases of stunting and without stunting. This research is both quantitative and qualitative. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews and field observations at 20 points of the squared plot of vegetation observations which also became a source of information. The data obtained was then analyzed for vegetation using the Shannon-Wiener index method and the use value of species. The results showed that there were differences in preferences for the use of plants in local community settlements with cases of stunting and non-stunting. Utilization of plants with the highest UVs were in settlements with cases of stunting, namely Zingiber officinale, Pandanus amaryllifolius and Amorphophallus muelleri, while in the yards without stunting cases were Actinocarpus commansi Blanco, Magnolia acuminata (L.) , Moringa olefira Lam, and Artocarpus altilis (Parkison ex F.A.Zorn) Fosberg. Communities in settlements without stunting cases consume intensely sources of food from their garden plots, while people in settlements with stunting cases do not. In particular, Moringa plants are only found in residential yard gardens without stunting and are not found in settlements with stunting cases.

Abstract

Traditional rituals were part of the daily life of the Minangkabau and Mentawai indigenous peoples in the past. Since the arrival of Islam, the understanding that has developed in Minangkabau society is "adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah", which means that adat refers to Shari'a, Shari'a refers to the Koran. Halal branding has become a framework for developing tourism in West Sumatra which has resulted in tensions with the indigenous Mentawai people who do not adhere to Islam. The Festival Ritual Nagari raised in this thesis raises both rituals from the culture of the Minangkabau and Mentawai indigenous peoples. This thesis discusses the festivalization of traditional rituals carried out in the city of Padang Panjang, West Sumatra. This research aims to enrich cultural tourism attractions that are inclusive of Mentawai traditional culture so as to achieve the common goal of increasing visitors to West Sumatra. This research was conducted in a qualitative descriptive manner with cultural thematic analysis methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with stakeholders involved in developing the traditional ritual festival in Padang Panjang. The results of this study indicate that the development of traditional rituals as a cultural tourism attraction requires a development model so that the ritual festivals carried out can be sustainable. This study shows that the collaboration of stakeholders greatly influences the continuity of traditional ritual festivals. In addition to the development model, an event management flow chart for the Festival Ritual Nagari 2 and the 2023-2026 Nagari Festival Ritual event calendar were also found. The active collaboration of all stakeholders is suggested so that the Festival Ritual Nagari can be carried out continuously in the future. The establishment of regulations regarding the festival of traditional rituals is needed because it does not only function as a cultural tourism attraction but also cultural diplomacy.

Abstract

Pneumonia is one of the infectious diseases that attacks the lower respiratory tract, which is characterized by coughing, and shortness of breath. Risk factors that increase the morbidity and mortality of pneumonia are divided into two major groups, namely intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic factors include age, gender, nutritional status, low birth weight, immunization status, breastfeeding, and vitamin A administration. Extrinsic factors include residential density, ventilation, air pollution, humidity, cigarette smoke, family income and maternal factors, both education, mother's age, and mother's knowledge. The aim of the study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in the Children's Room of Kudungga Hospital, East Kutai. This study uses a correlation research design with a cross-sectional research design. The sample in this study was 57 people. The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.000 (knowledge), p-value = 0.001 (immunization status), p-value = 0.000 (nutritional status) and p-value = 0.000 (smoking history). There is a relationship between knowledge, immunization status, nutritional status and family history of smoking with the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in the Children's Room of Kudungga Hospital, East Kutai.

The questions include the stages of labor management, the sterility of techniques and tools used, and the emergency responses. The data were then examined by analytical descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. This study found Only 20% of TBAs had a good level of knowledge to assist delivery according to health standards. The history of training is correlated with the level of knowledge. Approximately 80% of TBAs with good knowledge had attended delivery training by health workers. They understood the management, limits, and responses to emergencies in labor. In contrast, most TBAs with moderate (44%) and poor (36%) knowledge with no training history, still had a traditional understanding of labor equipment and methods used. The skills and knowledge of TBAs in assisting deliveries according to health standards are highly dependent on education and guidance from health workers.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the correlation between playing-game addiction and students’ learning attitudes at a public senior high school, specifically to see if playing games excessively on gadgets affects students’ learning attitudes. This study used a quantitative design that was descriptive and correlative. The instruments used were adapted from two questionnaires developed by Yong (2006) and Patricia (2017). There were 120 students in grades XI and XII in natural science and Social Science at one Public High School enrolled in the second semester of the school year 2021-2022 who were the respondents to this study. The findings showed that the level of game addiction was low, with a mean score of 2.43. Furthermore, the level of students’ learning attitudes was high, with a mean score of 3.82. Next, it was found that there is a significant difference between males and females in game addiction. The mean score of Male students was 2.91 and that of female students was 2.08, which are categorized as neutral, and male students have a higher level of addiction to playing games than female students. It was found that there is a difference between male and female students in their learning attitudes, where the mean of female students was 3.96 higher than male students' 3.63, which was categorized as highly positive. Finally, it was found that there is a significant correlation between students’ game addiction and their learning attitude as p = 0.05 ? 0.05; in other words, the p-value was equal to ? = 0.05. This clearly showed that the more addicted the students are to playing games, the lower their attitude toward learning.
