Abstract

This study discusses cartel practices in the rice supply chain with a focus on the implications of the Indonesian Farmer Shop (TTI) program. The complex rice supply chain has affected the price of consumer rice and farmers' grain. This study uses a qualitative approach with a normative juridical method and organized crime theory. The results of the study show that although the TTI program has a clear basis, cartel practices emerge due to the domination of actors in rice marketing and laxity in implementing policies. The TTI program creates shorter supply chains, but cartel practices still exist. This research reveals that cartel practices arise from the implementation of the TTI program which is controlled by certain parties with strong control. Obstacles in bookkeeping and supply management also influenced the emergence of cartels. Cartel practices arise not because of regulations, but because of their implementation which tends to be abused by cartel actors.

Abstract

The average trend of intensive care unit (ICU) patients increases every day across the globe, including in Indonesia. Patients and their families have various needs during intensive care in the ICU. Based on these needs, we classify them into care, hope, information, participation, and assurance. In order to fulfill these needs, support and involvement of family members are needed. If the needs are fulfilled, this will have an effect on the satisfaction of family members. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between family involvement and family satisfaction of critical patients in Intensive Care Unit of Sumber Waras Hospital, West Jakarta. Descriptive and analytic research design with a quantitative approach is used in this study. Samples were collected using a consecutive sampling method and a questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. Pearson Chi-Square correlation test was performed to determine the relationship among variables. This study showed the average scores of family involvement and family satisfaction were 4.0-4.3 out of 5 on a Likert scale. From 49 respondents, 29 respondents had a higher level of involvement in information and 34 respondents had a higher level of satisfaction in assurance. Family involvement in care, hope, information, participation, and assurance had a significant positive association with family satisfaction, with the effect exerted at 42%, 56%, 51%, 49%, and 49%, respectively. From this study, we can conclude that the patient’s family members had a moderately to very high level of involvement and satisfaction. There is a significant positive association between family involvement and family satisfaction in the Sumber Waras Hospital, West Jakarta.

Abstract

We performed the comparison of characteristics and values under the curve, including Sepsis Patient Evaluation Emergency Department Score (SPEEDS), Mortality in Emergency Department Sepsis (MEDS), Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II), and Simplified Acute Physiology Score (SAPS II). We searched PubMed, Science direct, ProQuest, and EBSCO for identify full-text English-language papers published between 2012-2022. We discovered that each of the five-scoring lead to mortality forecasts in sepsis patients. MEDS predicted mortality in sepsis patients better than SAPS II after 28 days but the SPEEDS was more accurate than MEDS. The SOFA score predicts mortality better than the APACHE II. APACHE II has lesser validity than SAPS II. The AUC SOFA scores have greater in diagnosing sepsis patients’ mortality than other scores. However, they are overstated, inefficient, and non-cost-effective, making SOFA scoring unfavourable in enhancing healthcare quality.

Abstract

The plan to host the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia has finally been canceled. The cancellation was triggered by the rejection of several Indonesian political figures towards the presence of the U-20 Israeli national team in the country. FIFA, as the governing body of world football, promptly took action by canceling the draw event that was supposed to take place in Bali. In a short period of time, FIFA officially revoked Indonesia's status as the host of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. This study utilizes the Pan and Kosicki framing analysis framework with a constructivist approach to examine how both media outlets construct this phenomenon. The research approach is comparative as the author aims to compare different perspectives from both online media sources.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the credit evaluation process within Credit Union (CU) Karya Bersama Lestari (KABARI). The study leveraged four distinct algorithms, namely Decision Tree C4.5, Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN), and Random Forest, to predict the suitability of extending loans to potential borrowers. Rapid Miner was employed as a tool to maximize accuracy by analyzing the Confusion matrix. Testing was conducted on a dataset consisting of 459 member loan submissions. The results of the analysis revealed that the K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) algorithm achieved the highest accuracy among the evaluated algorithms. Specifically, the Decision Tree algorithm demonstrated an accuracy rate of 95.65%, along with a precision and recall of 94.12%. The Naive Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy rate of 95.65%, supported by precision and recall values of 100% and 88.24%, respectively. The K-Nearest Neighbors algorithm displayed the highest accuracy rate of 97.83%, accompanied by 100% precision and 94.12% recall. Meanwhile, the Random Forest algorithm exhibited an accuracy rate of 93.48%, complemented by precision and recall values of 100% and 82.35%, respectively. The study's conclusions bear relevance for refining loan approval processes and fostering improved lending practices within financial institutions like CU KABARI.

Abstract

This research was conducted at PT.X which is located in Cilegon, Merak-Banten. Seeing the geographical location of PT.X which is in a disaster-prone area, the company must ensure an effective business continuity process. In accordance with government regulations on Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE) related to corporate and government business activities, companies must be able to ensure business continuity in every condition that poses a threat and risk, but with no specific obligation that is the basis for the company's business continuity if it does not have a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) process, it will get a sanction. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the existing BCP process at PT X Cilegon and provide recommendations for a standardized BCP framework in the company to ensure business continuity as the company's Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) to avoid all threats and risks. BCP has standards regulated in ISO 22301: 2019 as its framework, and in BCP there is a risk analysis process and this research will be carried out using the NIST SP 800-30 Revision 1 method as its best practice. The evaluation results show that the previous BCP process at PT X Cilegon was not in accordance with the standards and the risk analysis carried out was still based on the ISO that the company had implemented but not ISO 31000 which is the risk management standard, so this study provides recommendations for a BCP framework that is in accordance with the standards and risk analysis with risk analysis methods that produce risk priorities.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of fatherlessness on the psychological development of children from commuter marriage families. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subject of this study is an 8-year-old child. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observations, and psychological tests. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data's validity is tested using source triangulation techniques. Based on the research results, the impact of fatherlessness on the psychological development of the child shows that: S does not get quality time with his father to engage in play activities because the father works out of town and returns only once a year. S's father verbally abuses his wife, indicating the loss of the father's role as a source of love and protection from harm. S's father makes rules and decisions within the house without first consulting his wife and children. Every decision made by the father must be followed by the mother and children, or else the father becomes angry. S's father believes that raising and educating children is solely the mother's responsibility, and a husband's role is only to provide for the family financially. S's mother is unable to establish the father's presence in the children's lives. S has difficulty following lessons at school and adapting to school life, as he always needs to be accompanied by his mother. When playing, S only interacts with close friends he already knows.
