Abstract

The Neno Bo'ha tradition is a tradition carried out for 40 days by mothers after giving birth. This tradition in East Nusa Tenggara has been proven to be one that influences the prevalence of the condition of mothers and toddlers. This tradition increases the high number of infections or malaria in East Nusa Tenggara, which according to the Central Statistics Agency is already high. This qualitative research using the literature study method was carried out with the aim of finding more incidents of the impact of this tradition so as to obtain results of the urgency of replacing the Neno Bo'ha tradition on the health and hygiene of postnatal mothers and babies. Solutions that can be implemented include approaching community leaders, providing education to local communities, involving local health workers to work together, both in education and treatment, and creating replacement innovations without eliminating the basic values of these traditions.

Abstract

Fatimah grass or Anastatica hierochuntica is a traditional medicinal plant which is believed to speed up the birthing process and reduce the risk of bleeding if the water soaked in it is consumed by pregnant women. The natural phytochemical compounds and flavonoids contained in it can increase the responsiveness of the uterus to oxytocin, thus triggering the labor process. However, research also shows that fatimah grass has side effects such as poisoning the fetus and even miscarriage. The aim of this research is to explore the perspective of pregnant women regarding the use of Fatimah grass to speed up contractions during labor. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with interview techniques. The criteria for respondents in this study were mothers who had experienced a vaginal birth (normal), whether they consumed fatimah grass or not, who lived in rural and urban areas. The results of the study showed that respondents who consumed fatimah grass soaked water and those who did not consumed it had varying perspectives. However, all respondents agreed that listening to the doctor's advice was a wiser choice so that the birthing process went more smoothly. This research shows that fatimah grass consumption can be influenced by various factors, such as traditional beliefs, personal experience, information obtained from various sources, and safety considerations.

Abstract

Body position and posture are important components in carrying out activities because poor posture and other non-ergonomic elements will interfere with the focus and accuracy of workers which have an impact on production results. Based on observations and interviews with practitioners in the UM Mechanical Engineering Faculty Workshop, there are symptoms and feelings of fatigue in the body when carrying out practicum due to the duration of work for 4 hours and the target achievement of tasks that must be completed. Therefore, this assessment aims to provide an overview of student work postures that increase the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The methods used in this observation and measurement were the Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). The results of the OWAS score analysis showed a value of 2 in postures 1 and 2 where this attitude is harmful to the musculoskeletal system, so it needs improvement in the future, and a value of 1 in posture 3 where this attitude does not need improvement. Meanwhile, the results of the RULA score analysis showed a value of 6 high categories in postures 1 and 2 which interpret further investigation, immediate changes, as well as a value of 4 medium categories in posture 3 which can interpret further investigation, changes may be needed. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a need to improve work postures by practitioners on tuning machines by changing work positions to ergonomic, stretching periodically, and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Abstract

Non-ergonomic work positions can lead to fatigue and discomfort, increasing the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) and injuries. This study aims to observe and describe work positions during a practical activity of bolt manufacturing among engineering students at the Faculty of Engineering. Work position assessments were conducted using the OWAS and RULA methods. Through direct observation, students were evaluated in two stages of the practical activity: winding and drilling. The results showed that the working positions of students during the practicum tended to be non-ergonomic, with OWAS scores in the threading and drilling divisions being 2 with a hazardous category for all subjects, indicating that the working posture is dangerous and requires future improvements. The RULA scores in the threading division were 6, and in the drilling division, they were 5, both in the high-risk category, suggesting the need for immediate corrective actions and changes. The conclusion of this study is that improvements in non-ergonomic working positions are necessary for industrial engineering students during bolt-making practicum activities to reduce the risk of injury, prevent MSDs, and increase productivity in the work environment.

Abstract

Mother's milk (breast milk) is the best food for infants because it has preeminence and unique nutritional value over other sources of nutrition. Breast milk production (breast milk) may increase or decrease depending on breast gland stimulation, which one of the factors affecting breast production is the nutritional status of the mother, if the maternal diet continues to fail to meet sufficient nutrition, the mammalian glands in the breasts will not work perfectly and affect breast production. People's eating habits are affected by various factors, such as cultural social factors. Generally in rural areas, belief in foods that may otherwise hinder or increase secretion.
