Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact and threats of transnational ideology on social stability and diversity in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, which relies on secondary data from various literature and written publications. Transnational ideology that crosses national borders is understood as a global understanding that can influence a nation's political policies and local values . In Indonesia, the spread of this transnational ideology often conflicts with Pancasila and cultural values, thus triggering radicalization, tension between groups, decreased tolerance, and the potential for social disintegration. The results of this study indicate that transnational ideology has a significant impact on social stability, such as social division and radicalization, tension between groups with different ideological values, and decreased tolerance and cultural diversity. This potential for social disintegration is a grave concern. Where this is spread through social media which is used to spread propaganda and intolerant narratives to the Indonesian people, to overcome the impact of this threat the Indonesian government has implemented various strategies, such as the establishment of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), education of Pancasila values, law enforcement against radical groups, strengthening cyber, and international cooperation.

Abstract

The digital era presents new opportunities and challenges for the development of Islamic Education (PAI) learning media. One innovative medium that is beginning to be utilised is the dakwah podcast, which is an audio recording containing Islamic messages that can be accessed flexibly through various digital platforms. This study aims to analyse the utilisation of Islamic preaching podcasts as an alternative learning medium for IRE in the digital era, including their advantages, challenges, and implementation strategies. The research method used is library research, reviewing literature related to digital preaching, learning technology, and Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that dakwah podcasts have great potential in improving understanding of Islamic education material due to their accessibility, flexibility, and ability to reach a wide audience. However, content curation strategies, teacher training, and integration with the curriculum are needed for podcasts to function optimally in both formal and non-formal learning. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for educators, school administrators, and digital dakwah activists in developing PAI learning that is adaptive to technological developments.

Abstract

This study investigates the transformation process of Islamic knowledge and values within Kitab Kuning learning at Dayah Darussalam Lampoh Tuah Grong Grong, focusing on how traditional Islamic educational institutions in Aceh navigate the digital age while maintaining their academic rigor and spiritual core. Across most dayah in Aceh, students are prohibited from using mobile phones, while digital technology access remains limited to educators (asatidz), religious scholars (teungku), and advanced students for educational, administrative, or instructional purposes. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach supported by fieldwork observations and interviews, this study reveals that digital transformation in dayah education unfolds selectively and value-driven. Technology serves as a supplementary pedagogical resource for teachers rather than a central learning platform for students. Conventional instructional methods including halaqah (study circles), boh bareh (diacritical marking), syarah (interpretive exposition), and muthala'ah (self-directed reading) remain the cornerstone of knowledge transmission. Concurrently, digital instruments are utilized to enhance reference materials, boost efficiency, and support educators in content delivery. The restriction on mobile phone usage among students contributes to maintaining discipline, focus, and reverence for knowledge, fostering deep intellectual and spiritual development. Thus, the evolution of Kitab Kuning education within the digital landscape represents an ethical modernization approach—rooted in Islamic moral principles, humility, and the pursuit of blessed knowledge (barakah al-'ilm). This framework demonstrates the endurance and ongoing significance of Aceh's dayah institutions as custodians of classical Islamic learning amid swift global technological advancement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of demonstration and dialogue methods in teaching prayer based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Prayer, as a major act of worship, requires a deep understanding of both theory and practice. The demonstration method is important because it emphasises the skills involved in the movements of prayer, while the dialogue method emphasises understanding the meaning and appreciation of worship through questions and answers and discussion. This study uses a qualitative literature approach by examining hadiths about teaching prayer, especially the hadith about the Prophet's prayer: ‘Shallu kama ra'aitumuni usalli’ (pray as you see me pray). The results of the study show that the integration of demonstration and dialogue methods in prayer learning can improve the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective competencies of students in a balanced manner.

Abstract

This study explores the ethical integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education through the philosophical lens of Thomas Aquinas, addressing the tension between technological efficiency and humanistic values. While AI enhances personalized learning and accessibility (e.g., adaptive platforms like Khan Academy), it risks dehumanizing education by neglecting empathy and equity. Using qualitative philosophical analysis and systematic literature review, the research examines Aquinas’ principles of natural law, virtue ethics, and telos (purpose) to propose a framework balancing AI innovation with moral education. Findings reveal that Aquinas’ emphasis on reason, character formation, and social justice aligns with modern needs to mitigate AI’s pitfalls, such as data privacy concerns and reduced human interaction. The study concludes that AI should complement, not replace, human educators, with policies prioritizing ethical training, inclusive access, and curricula integrating Aquinas’ virtues (e.g., justice, empathy). This synthesis offers a holistic approach to ensure AI serves as a tool for human flourishing in education.

Abstract

The urgency to reform the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum stems from a widening gap between its normative-dogmatic orientation and the global demand for inclusive, humanistic education. Although Islamic teachings emphasize compassion, justice, and respect for human dignity, these values are not yet systematically embedded in current curriculum structures. Previous studies have examined humanistic-religious education in limited scopes, but few have explored its philosophical foundations and global relevance. This study investigates how humanistic-religious values can be philosophically integrated into the PAI curriculum to meet global educational needs. Employing a qualitative method with a normative-philosophical approach, data were gathered through literature review and document analysis of curriculum texts and scholarly works. The data were analyzed using thematic reduction, categorization, and synthesis. The study offers a significant contribution by proposing a curriculum framework that balances spiritual and social dimensions, rooted in Islamic ethics and responsive to multicultural realities. It recommends a conceptual shift in curriculum design, teacher training in transformative pedagogy, and policy support for embedding universal human values into religious education. These findings enrich the discourse on global Islamic education and provide a foundation for future empirical research and curriculum innovation.

Abstract

This study discusses the Discovery Learning model from an Islamic perspective, emphasizing its relevance to the development of students’ potential. Discovery Learning is a student-centered learning model that highlights the process of concept discovery through investigation, observation, and direct experience, thereby fostering critical thinking, creativity, and independence. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method in a descriptive-analytical form. The findings indicate that Discovery Learning has a philosophical foundation aligned with the principles of Islamic education, as reflected in the Qur’an and Hadith, which encourage thinking, researching, and seeking knowledge as acts of worship. For instance, QS. Al-‘Alaq verses 1–5 emphasize the importance of reading and acquiring knowledge, which is in line with the principles of discovery learning. From an Islamic perspective, this model supports the development of human potential in the form of intellect and curiosity, while also cultivating critical thinking, responsibility, and independence. Discovery Learning also offers advantages such as enhancing problem-solving skills, fostering independence, and promoting active learning. Nevertheless, it also presents limitations, including requiring more time, demanding teacher readiness, and necessitating a resource-rich learning environment. Thus, Discovery Learning can serve as a strategic alternative for improving the quality of education, not only focusing on cognitive aspects but also integrating spiritual and moral values in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This integrative literature review aims to reconstruct a Design Thinking (DT)-based learning model for moral education (akhlak) tailored to Generation Z in the digital age. The study systematically analyses 25 primary sources (scientific journals, proceedings, dissertations) published between 2016 and 2025. The findings reveal a significant gap between conventional normative teaching methods and the characteristics of Gen Z as digital natives, requiring a contextual and participatory learning paradigm. The analysis identifies Design Thinking as a powerful and philosophically aligned solution. DT’s human-centered, iterative stages (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) show deep convergence with Islamic moral concepts, such as at-ta'āthuf (compassion) and at-tajribah (experimentation). The synthesis results in a proposed conceptual model that integrates the DT mindset, Gen Z’s digital-native traits, and the objectives of Islamic moral education. The reconstructed model shifts learning from passive transmission to an active, experiential process where students explore real-world moral dilemmas, collaboratively prototype behavioral solutions, and engage in continuous reflection. This study provides a theoretical foundation and operational framework for educators and curriculum developers to design more relevant, impactful, and adaptive moral education for the 21st century.
