Islamism, which at the beginning used as the main issue, has been shifted to occupying the economic resources. This article aims to analyze the settlement of a prolonged conflict between the Free Aceh Movement (Gerakan Aceh Merdeka/GAM) and the Indonesian Government through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Helsinki that had implications on changing the law for Aceh. Some previous studies stated that Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a win-win solution has been working well and give a better chance to end the separatist conflict in Aceh. However, This article shows that MoU Helsinki is only bring negative peace to Aceh, because its implementation through Law on Governing Aceh (LoGA) has reduced authorities of Aceh to govern itself and it does not transform the structure and relationship between Aceh and the Government of Indonesia to the balanced ones, although LoGA has provided opportunities for economic, social and political development in Aceh. The Peace agreement (MoU Helsinki) and LoGA were carried out and resulted in a compromise and consensus in the socio-political in Aceh. This article based on research using qualitative methods. The data collect from primary sources and secondary sources.

The consumption of dog meat has been a common practice in the past few decades and a symbol for certain groups all around the world. Dogs Are Not Food (DANF) is a new social movement aimed to ban dog meat consumption, initiated by several animal rights organizations in Indonesia. The campaign seems to be self-contradictory: why ban the consumption of dog meat while still allowing the consumption of meat from other animals? Drawing on framing analysis, this article uses participant observation and in-depth interview with some self-identified animal activists and/or supporters of DANF. In contrast to previous studies, which are too critical of DANF, this article gives a sociological explanation on the functions of dogs in society and analysis of DANF’s framing. I argue that the framing used by the movement attempts to humanize non-human animals. Banning consumption of dog meat, therefore, is the goal of the DANF campaign.

This article aims to explain the poverty in Flores by using a political economy perspective. Through qualitative research method by literature review, this article argues that poverty in the region is caused by the accumulation by dispossession through three main areas, namely the long colonial history, agrarian inequality, and the de- politicization of the masses. The long history of colonization has led to the change of the system of administration and the agrarian structure for the sake of the accumulation by dispossession. The agrarian inequalities facilitate the process of accumulation by dispossession. Just by relying on unorganized spontaneous resistances, the accumulation by dispossession is unstoppable and keeps escalating until today.

This article discusses the correlation between peer group pressure and eating disorder behavior symptoms in Jakarta Senior High School students. Many of studies talk about it, but the discussion about eating disorder behavior on sociology was rarely found. In this article, sex was used as a control variable while many of studies only focused on the woman. The earlier studies that only focused on female have a lack of peer group influence analysis because it is biased. Therefore the author argues that peer group pressure influences the emergence of eating disorder behavior symptoms not only to female students but also to male students. This article was written based on a study which uses quantitative methods with stratified probability random sampling on 235 students from a state senior high school in Jakarta. This article shows that there is a correlation between peer group pressure on eating disorder behavior in Jakarta senior high school students where male students more influenced by the message from his peer group, while female students more influenced by integration and likeability.
