Abstract

Katingan Regency is one of the areas known to be prone to traffic accidents in Central Kalimantan Province. As a result of these accidents, there are many casualties. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to determine the level of accidents that occur on the Tjilik Riwut Kasongan road section. The purpose of this study is to analyze accident data on the Tjilik Riwut Kasongan road, analyze the location of traffic accident hotspots on the road, analyze the main factors causing accidents and provide recommendations to relevant agencies to reduce the accident rate on the road. The results of the accident analysis on the Tjilik Riwut Kasongan road carried out for 5 years (2018-2022) accidents amounted to 51 events. Based on the Accident Equivalent Number (AEK) method and the Upper Control Limit (UCL) method, it shows that segment 1(Km 0+000 -Km 5+000) is a traffic accident-prone area. The main cause of accidents is due to human factors and the influence of road conditions. The alternative countermeasures are patching potholes, cleaning drainage, leveling asphalt patching, adding road medians, repainting faded signs, installing traffic signs and socializing traffic safety and legal discipline in traffic.

Abstract

Tropospheric ozone is formed through UV radiation from sunlight with NOx and VOC precursors. Continuous O3 measurement data were obtained from US Embassy in Central Jakarta from November 4 2022 to September 30, 2023. The data were analyzed and compared with Indonesian NAAQS for 1-hour and 8-hour. Based on NAAQS, 1-hour O3 concentration is measured between 11:00-14:00; The 8-hour concentration is the average of the 8 hours measurements between 06:00-18:00. Based on the analysis, maximum concentration tends to occur between 11:00-16:00. The 1-hour concentration increased in July-September 2023, while maximum of 103 μg /m3 was recorded on November 4, 2022 at 14:00-15:00. Based on the recorded data, the 8-hour concentration can be calculated as the average of 8 hours concentration between 06:00 to 21:00. The measurement between 10:00-18:00 shows higher average 8-hour ozone concentration compared to other ranges. Lowest value was obtained in between 06:00-14:00. With additional O3 concentration data is expected Jakarta air quality can be more understood. With fast application of Low-Cost Sensor (LCS) for PM2.5, LCS for O3 can be considered to support limited number of AQMS in Jakarta. More O3 measurements needed since this parameter is strongly influenced by local meteorological conditions, contributing NOx and VOC pollutants activities, as well wind movement pattern.

Abstract

Maintenance department often has problems with process transfer dies. One of the problems currently being faced is scrap jams that disrupt the production process. The accumulation of scrap results in damage to the product being processed. Therefore, the process must be stopped for 15 minutes to clean the scrap. This research aims to overcome the problem of stuck scrap on LHD dash panel dies by modifying the dies. Identification of causes and effects using a fishbone diagram resulted in the fact that the cause of the scrap jam was the method factor, namely the scrap sutter angle which was too sloping at 80 so that the scrap did not run smoothly and caused buildup in the process area. Dies modification is carried out by adding components to the base plate so that the scrap cutter angle increases. The modification process begins with measuring the components to be modified, followed by creating component designs using CAD software, assembly simulation, docking, machining and assembly processes. After assembly, the scrap sutter angle is measured. There is a change in the scrap sutter angle from 80to 280. The change in the scrap sutter angle makes the scrap material flow smoothly so that no scrap accumulates. From the calculation results it was found that the benefit after improvement was 31,040,000 rupiah per year.

Abstract

Organophosphate (OP) pesticides are one of the pesticides with the widest and most widespread use in the world. Excessive use of agricultural land can have a negative impact on humans and the environment. One of the alternative methods that can be used to reduce OP in the environment is adsorption using activated carbon (KA). KA has been proven to be able to deal with various hazardous substances in the environment, including pesticides. This paper aims to look at KA’s capabilities and obstacles in adsorbing OP. The results of this review show that the adsorption ability of KA on OP depends on environmental temperature and pH. At optimum temperature, OP removal can reach 99.3%, while at optimum pH, KA’s adsorption capacity can be higher up to 68.15 mg/g. Other factors such as environmental characteristics, characteristics of the train used, and target adsorbate (OP) are still challenges for future research before its application in the agricultural environment
