Abstract

This study aims to analyze contracts (akad) and consumer protection in the use of electronic money in Indonesia, with a focus on the application of Islamic economic principles. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach, enabling the collection and analysis of information related to fintech innovations, particularly digital wallets such as GoPay, OVO, and Dana, as well as the QRIS payment system implemented by Bank Indonesia. The findings indicate that a proper understanding of the types of contracts applied, such as deposit (wadi’ah) or loan (qardh), is crucial to ensure compliance with Sharia values. In addition, this study identifies risks and challenges faced by consumers, including data protection and potential misuse. The conclusion highlights the need for strong regulations and strict security systems to safeguard consumers, as well as the importance of public education regarding contracts and risks associated with electronic money. Furthermore, innovations in Sharia-based services are necessary to establish a more equitable and sustainable financial ecosystem, thereby enhancing public trust in the use of electronic money.

Abstract

Fintech is a contemporary phenomenon that is revolutionizing the banking sector by introducing innovations that increase efficiency and streamline financial procedures. This paper explores the relationship between fintech and profitability of selected banks in Ghana from 2014 to 2023. Specifically, the research objectives are to analyze the impact of fintech on bank profitability and liquidity. A quantitative and explanatory study design were adopted. With 150 observations, the study utilized secondary data sourced from the annual financial reports of the selected banks and the World Bank Indicators Database. To assess the impact of fintech on bank profitability and liquidity, the OLS estimation method was utilized. The findings of the study offer a 2-way relationship between the variables. It was revealed that ATM banking has a positive impact on both bank profitability and liquidity. Findings of the study further revealed that Internet banking has a negative impact on profitability, but a positive impact on liquidity. In addition, it was found that mobile banking has a negative and positive impact on profitability and liquidity respectively. The study recommends that banks in Ghana should prioritize financial innovation, reduce transaction costs, and increase their security measures. This study concludes that fintech adoption plays a significant role in enhancing the profitability and liquidity creation of banks.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self efficacy, work stress, and work motivation on work behavior, with a case study of Gojek drivers in Yogyakarta. The research employs a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with an accidental sampling approach, in which samples were selected based on Gojek drivers who happened to be encountered and agreed to become respondents. The total number of respondents in this study is 105 active Gojek drivers operating in the Yogyakarta area. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the extent to which the independent variables self efficacy, work stress, and work motivation affect the dependent variable, namely work behavior. The results of the study show that self efficacy, work stress, and work motivation have a significant influence, both simultaneously and partially, on the work behavior of Gojek drivers. These findings indicate that increasing self efficacy, proper management of work stress, and strong work motivation can promote more productive and professional work behavior.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how customer happiness with Calf coffee in Indonesia is impacted by product quality, packaging, and price perception. With 209 respondents, the study was carried out quantitatively utilizing a survey method and purposive sampling technique. With the use of SmartPLS software, structural equation modeling, or SEM, was used to analyze the data The results showed that the three independent variables significantly and positively influenced customer satisfaction. Of the three, packaging had the greatest influence on satisfaction, followed by price perception and product quality. Sensory aspects such as acidity and intensity of taste, visual elements on packaging such as shape, material, and labels, and perceptions of price fairness were shown to contribute to shaping customer experience. Although product quality has the lowest influence compared to other variables, it remains an important factor in customer perception. This study provides important implications for coffee business actors in increasing competitiveness through packaging innovation and pricing strategies. The limitations of the study lie in the focus on a single brand and a certain time period. Further research is recommended to explore more other factors that influence customer satisfaction.

Using SPSS software version 26, multiple linear regression analysis was used as a quantitative analysis tool. The results showed that product quality had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, service quality had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, and price perception had no significant effect on purchasing decisions. Simultaneously, product quality, service quality, and price perception had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions at Kowok Coffee. These results highlight the important role of product quality, service quality, and price perception in purchasing decisions. Therefore, it is important for management to maintain and improve these three aspects to maintain competitiveness and purchasing decisions. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy, overconfidence, and risk tolerance on investment decisions among Generation Z in Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach, primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed online via social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter. The respondents consisted of Generation Z individuals actively investing in Yogyakarta. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 27.0. The results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, indicating that higher financial knowledge enhances the quality of investment choices. Similarly, overconfidence also exerts a positive and significant influence, suggesting that Generation Z investors with high self-confidence in their financial knowledge tend to make bolder investment decisions, often influenced by easy access to information and personal experience. In contrast, risk tolerance does not have a significant impact on investment decisions, implying that a high willingness to take risks does not necessarily translate into more aggressive investment behavior. Simultaneously, financial literacy, overconfidence, and risk tolerance collectively have a significant effect on investment decisions, highlighting that investment behavior is shaped by a combination of financial knowledge and psychological factors. These findings underscore the importance of financial education and awareness of behavioral biases in supporting sound investment practices among young investors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how pricing perception, product quality, and Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) affect decisions to buy at Ayam Woku Dapoer Ceisya in East Jakarta.  This study employs a survey methodology and a quantitative approach, gathering primary data from 100 participants via online questionnaires disseminated via Google Forms.  Accidental sampling is the method of sampling that is employed.  “The F-test, coefficient of determination (R2), t-test, multiple linear regression analysis, and classical assumption tests were performed in SPSS.   The study found that product quality and pricing perceptions positively and significantly affect buying decisions.   No e-WOM impact was seen.   The F-test shows that price perception, product quality, and e-WOM influence simultaneous purchases”.   The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.786 shows that these three factors explain 78.6% of purchasing decisions.  This study offers factual proof that consumers' perceptions of product quality and pricing are important factors when making judgments about what to buy in the culinary sector.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of product quality and service quality on electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and purchase decisions at Haraku Ramen Restaurant, Grand Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 150 respondents and analyzed using SmartPLS version 3 to assess the relationships among variables. The findings indicate that service quality has a significant positive impact on purchase decisions but does not significantly influence eWOM. This suggests that although good service enhances consumer satisfaction, it does not necessarily motivate customers to share their experiences online. Conversely, product quality does not significantly affect purchase decisions but has a positive effect on eWOM, as customers tend to share favorable reviews when the food meets or exceeds expectations. Furthermore, eWOM has a significant positive influence on purchase decisions, where positive online reviews enhance consumer trust and encourage new customers to try the product. These results highlight the differentiated roles of product and service quality in shaping consumer behavior—service quality drives immediate purchasing actions, while product quality contributes more substantially to the restaurant’s online reputation through eWOM. The study underscores the strategic importance of managing both aspects to optimize customer engagement and decision-making.
