Abstract

This study analyzed the prosperity paradox arising from palm oil production in Indonesia, with a focus on its impact on rural poverty. Despite the industry’s significant contribution to economic growth, many smallholder farmers and local communities remain trapped in poverty. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the study comprehensively identifies and synthesizes relevant evidence on this issue. The findings show that while the palm oil sector creates jobs and increases incomes for some, inequities in the distribution of benefits, limited access to resources, and adverse environmental impacts are significant barriers to smallholder well-being. The conclusion from this study shows that there is a need for greater attention from the Indonesian government to improve smallholder well-being and ensure environmental sustainability in the palm oil industry through inclusive policies. Recommendations include increased support to develop farmer capacity and protection of local community rights. With these steps, it is hoped that the benefits of the palm oil industry can be felt more equitably by all parties involved.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership roles, organizational culture, and intrinsic motivation on employee work discipline at the Yogyakarta Magelang Agricultural Development Polytechnic. Work discipline is a crucial factor in supporting organizational effectiveness, thus it is essential to examine its relationship with both internal organizational and individual factors. This research employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 70 employees of the institution. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The results indicate that the leadership role has a significant positive effect on employee work discipline. Furthermore, a strong organizational culture is proven to positively contribute to improving employee discipline. Intrinsic motivation also shows a significant positive influence on the level of work discipline, suggesting that the higher the employee's intrinsic motivation, the better their discipline performance. Simultaneously, the leadership role, organizational culture, and intrinsic motivation have a positive and significant combined effect on work discipline. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening leadership, fostering a constructive organizational culture, and enhancing intrinsic motivation in order to improve employee work discipline within vocational higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial attitude, reference groups, and self-confidence on entrepreneurial intention among students of the Faculty of Economics at Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, the research involved 83 active students selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using data quality tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that, partially, entrepreneurial attitude and self-confidence have a positive and significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial intention. In contrast, reference groups show a positive but not significant effect, suggesting that social support does not necessarily play a decisive role in shaping entrepreneurial intention. However, when analyzed simultaneously, all three variables have a significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight the importance of fostering positive attitudes and self-confidence through entrepreneurial training, networking, and experiential learning. The study recommends integrating entrepreneurial content into the curriculum, extending internship periods, providing entrepreneurship briefing forums, and developing campus business incubators. Future research is encouraged to focus on more specific educational settings, such as religious-based universities, and consider replacing the reference group variable with other more relevant factors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of product quality and promotion on brand image and consumer purchasing decisions. The research was conducted on consumers of Wingstop at Mall Kasablanka Jakarta from January to March 2025. A total of 202 respondents were selected using incidental sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that product quality has a significant effect on both brand image and purchasing decisions. Promotion significantly influences brand image but does not have a direct effect on purchasing decisions. Furthermore, brand image is found to significantly influence consumer purchasing decisions. These results highlight the critical role of brand image as a mediating factor in shaping consumer behavior. Therefore, it is essential for companies to maintain and enhance product quality, as it directly contributes to a strong brand image and encourages purchase decisions. In addition, promotional strategies should be reassessed and refined to more effectively shape positive consumer perceptions, which in turn can strengthen brand image and indirectly influence purchasing behavior. These insights are vital for businesses in developing integrated and impactful marketing strategies to improve competitiveness in the marketplace.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, compensation, and work environment on employee job satisfaction at CV. Banyu Sabrang Batik Kulon Progo. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing primary data collected from 60 operational employees. Data analysis was conducted through several stages, including validity and reliability tests, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The findings reveal that the OHS program does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction, suggesting that the implementation of OHS within the company remains suboptimal and fails to enhance employee satisfaction. Conversely, compensation and work environment show a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Adequate compensation provides employees with a sense of appreciation for their contributions, while a supportive work environment fosters a sense of safety and comfort in the workplace. The coefficient of determination value of 0.817 indicates that 81.7% of the variation in job satisfaction is influenced by the three variables studied, while the remaining 18.3% is affected by other factors not included in the analysis. These results underscore the importance of fair compensation and a conducive work environment in promoting employee job satisfaction.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the potential of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) based digital payment system implementation in XYZ Farming Cooperative. The objectives of this study include mapping the payment system currently used, identifying barriers in the digitization process, and projecting the impact of QRIS implementation on transaction efficiency and operational sustainability of the cooperative. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach, through data collection using open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews with cooperative members and management. The background of this research is based on the need to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the cooperative payment system through the adoption of digital technology. The results show that transactions in XYZ Farming Cooperative are still dominated by cash payments, which are considered less efficient by most respondents in the pre-research questionnaire. Meanwhile, the implementation of QRIS is considered to have great potential to support cooperative operations in a more practical and modern manner, despite the challenges of low digital literacy and limited infrastructure. This research recommends increasing the digital capacity of cooperative members through training, provision of technological facilities, and gradual implementation of non-cash payment system trials.

The study population consists of Dan+Dan retail consumers who made purchases in early 2025. Using a purposive sampling method, data were gathered from 100 respondents through structured questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 22. The findings reveal that service quality, price perception, and promotion significantly influence customer satisfaction. Furthermore, customer satisfaction serves as a key mediating factor that strengthens the relationship between those variables and customer loyalty. Among the predictors tested, service quality emerged as the most dominant factor, both directly and indirectly, in shaping customer loyalty. These results underscore the critical role of integrated service strategies, competitive pricing, and effective promotion in fostering customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty. Practically, this study suggests that retail businesses should focus on service excellence, value-based pricing, and engaging promotional efforts to enhance customer retention and brand competitiveness.

Abstract

This paper examines the effects of economic globalization on Nigeria's economic development. Data for the analysis were obtained from the 2022 World Development Indicators (WDI), with annual figures transformed into quarterly intervals using E-Views software, version 9. The analysis utilized the panel random effects model as its core econometric method. Results reveal that economic globalization contributes positively and significantly to economic growth across the ECOWAS member states. In light of these findings, the study recommends that ECOWAS governments enhance investments in information and communication technology (ICT), promote trade liberalization, and attract more foreign direct investment. These strategies are expected to stimulate the development of productive sectors and drive sustainable growth across the region. Additionally, the study encourages ECOWAS nations to diversify their economic structures by reactivating underperforming industries, including agriculture, mining, and manufacturing, to elevate domestic production and expand export capacity. It is also advised that central banks within the region maintain stable exchange rate policies to support these initiatives. The contribution of this research lies in its empirical evaluation of the globalization-growth nexus within the ECOWAS framework, providing policymakers with evidence-based insights. By highlighting sectoral reforms and regional policy alignment, the study offers a roadmap for inclusive and sustained economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the quality of local government financial reports, focusing on the impact of human resource competence, internal control systems, and the utilization of information technology. This quantitative research employed a purposive sampling technique, with the sample comprising finance department staff from Regional Device Organizations (OPD) in Madiun City who have a minimum of one year of work experience. The results indicate that human resource competence and the internal control system have a partially positive and significant effect on the quality of local government financial reports. This finding confirms that the capabilities of personnel and effective internal oversight mechanisms are crucial elements for producing reliable and accountable financial reporting. Conversely, the utilization of information technology was found to have no significant effect, which is suggested to be due to constraints in the optimal implementation of technological infrastructure and user skills. In conclusion, while technology continues to advance, human factors and internal control systems remain the primary predictors of financial reporting quality within the context of this study. It is recommended that future research expand the geographical scope and incorporate other variables to obtain a more comprehensive and generalizable understanding.
