Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with marketing managers and document analysis related to corporate branding strategies. The findings reveal that multinational companies adopt a flexible brand adaptation approach by adjusting product elements, marketing communications, and brand values to align with local market characteristics while maintaining their global identity. These findings highlight that balancing global brand consistency with local market adaptation is a key factor in the success of global marketing strategies.

Abstract

The declaration by President Muhammadu Buhari that he is willing to reduce the rising expenses of managing public affairs is a major surprise. Newspapers everywhere have stated that he will face the confront the problem head-on by reforming numerous government agencies, merging others, and dismantling others. We are still figuring out the specifics. The only information that has been made public thus far is that the plan's first casualties will be the Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the National Examinations Council, and the National Poverty Eradication Programme. It is evident from the announced strategy that the president and his officials either do not understand the seriousness of the issue or are once again manipulating a terrible sickness that is plaguing the nation. In what way would eliminating NECO and instructing WAEC to take on the personnel reduce costs? Or how would renaming NAPP contribute to improving governance value? How does he make sure that each and every Kobo that goes into counted national treasuries? What steps is he taking to guarantee that public policy is geared toward reducing people's suffering? The cost of governance during Jonathan's administration is examined in this study. It examines the cost of government from a thematic perspective, emphasizing its main points with specific examples. According to the paper's conclusion, the so-called clause of "senior ministers and junior or ministers of state" has led to the current unhealthy rivalry and widespread bitterness, but it has also resulted in needless waste of public funds in the payment of entitlements due to over-bloated administrative costs.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the profitability of businesses in Nigeria, using secondary data from the annual reports and financial statements of ten (10) randomly selected companies over the period from 2019 to 2024. The study aims to explore how CSR practices impact the financial performance of companies, specifically examining the Profit After Tax (PAT) as a measure of profitability. Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis is employed to analyze the data and establish the connection between CSR activities and company performance. The findings of the study show that the companies in the sample allocated less than 10% of their annual profits to CSR initiatives. This suggests that while some companies engage in CSR, their contribution remains relatively small in proportion to their overall profitability. The coefficient of determination reveals that changes in CSR activities have a significant impact on the variations observed in the performance of these companies, particularly in terms of PAT. Furthermore, the study highlights the need for stronger regulatory frameworks to enforce CSR practices. It recommends that the Nigerian government introduce laws and regulations that require firms to allocate a portion of their profits to social responsibility, ensure transparency in social accounting, and address social costs effectively. The study emphasizes that by improving CSR engagement, businesses can contribute to national development while enhancing their long-term financial performance.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM) and destination image on visit intention and decision to Sebalang Beach, South Lampung. With tourists increasingly relying on online reviews, understanding these relationships is essential for effective destination marketing. The research addresses the issue of how eWOM and destination image affect tourists' decisions, aiming to provide insights for tourism stakeholders. A quantitative approach was used, employing a survey method with purposive sampling of 110 respondents who have visited or intended to visit Sebalang Beach. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings indicate that destination image significantly influences visit intention and visit decisions, while visit intention also mediates the effect of destination image on visit decisions. However, eWOM does not have a significant impact on visit intention or visit decisions, and visit intention does not mediate the relationship between eWOM and visit decisions. These results suggest the importance of strengthening online promotional strategies and enhancing the positive image of Sebalang Beach. Encouraging content creation on social media and collaborating with influencers can effectively increase engagement and attract visitors. This study offers practical recommendations for tourism stakeholders to optimize Sebalang Beach’s potential and enhance its competitiveness as a tourist destination.

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing customer retention at Surya Fresh MSMEs in Depok City, West Java. The primary issue identified is the instability of customer retention, which is mainly attributed to intense market competition, the rapid pace of digital marketing, and the evolving customer expectations in the modern business environment. This study aims to analyze the impact of product quality, e-service quality, and reward programs on customer retention, with relationship commitment as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed to test the relationships among variables. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire from 224 Surya Fresh customers using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the PLS-SEM method in SmartPLS, including validity, reliability, and structural model assessments. The findings indicate that product quality, e-service quality, and reward programs significantly influence relationship commitment and customer retention. Moreover, relationship commitment was found to mediate the effects of these three factors on customer retention, highlighting its importance in enhancing customer loyalty. High e-service quality, superior product quality, and attractive reward programs foster strong emotional connections with customers, which are crucial for sustaining long-term customer loyalty. The study concludes that product quality, e-service quality, and reward programs have a positive and significant impact on relationship commitment and customer retention at Surya Fresh. Relationship commitment is confirmed as a key mediator. To further improve retention, Surya Fresh should focus on enhancing product availability, administrative responsiveness, and offering diverse promotional programs. Future studies may apply this model in different industries and integrate qualitative methods for deeper insights.

Abstract

This research evaluates the implementation of public policies related to natural resource management in Makassar City, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, this study examines the effectiveness, challenges, and impacts of these policies on sustainable development practices. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 25 key informants including government officials, resource managers, and affected community members, complemented by document analysis of policy papers and reports. The findings reveal significant gaps between policy formulation and implementation due to institutional fragmentation, limited community participation, and inadequate human resource capacity. While some policies have increased public awareness of conservation, others have failed to prevent environmental degradation, including water quality deterioration and deforestation. This study contributes to understanding the complex dynamics of natural resource governance in rapidly developing urban centers and offers practical recommendations for improving policy implementation through enhanced inter-agency coordination, meaningful community engagement, and capacity building initiatives.
