Abstract

Batik SMEs in Lampung utilize social commerce to expand their markets and reach customers beyond the local region. However, the exposure of batik motifs and digital content creates risks to creative assets and brand identity. This study aims to identify the risks arising from social commerce use and analyze their management in supporting business sustainability. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, digital observation, and documentation involving Batik SMEs that use social commerce for marketing and sales. Data were analyzed thematically to identify risk forms and management responses. The findings reveal three main risks: theft of batik motif ideas, imitation of batik motifs, and imitation of digital content. These risks challenge SMEs in maintaining product uniqueness and brand identity. Risk management strategies include continuous motif development, strengthening brand identity, using watermarks on digital content, monitoring digital activities, and developing new content concepts and designs. The findings indicate that social commerce risk management is not limited to preventing losses but also forms part of an adaptation and learning process to maintain competitiveness and support the sustainability of Batik SMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the causal mechanisms linking institutional work culture, institutional loyalty, and collaborative leadership style to employee work effectiveness through work expectation fulfillment at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Pati Branch. An explanatory quantitative approach was applied, involving a population of 240 permanent and contract employees within the operational branch office. The sample size was systematically determined using a proportional random sampling technique, yielding 135 representative respondents. Primary data collection was executed through structured questionnaires that underwent rigorous instrument validity and reliability testing. Hypothesis testing and the evaluation of inter-variable relationships were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique powered by AMOS software version 31 to validate the structural model and precisely measure direct and indirect effects. The structural test results demonstrate that institutional work culture, institutional loyalty, and collaborative leadership style exert a positive and significant effect on work expectation fulfillment. Furthermore, institutional loyalty and collaborative leadership style directly elevate employee work effectiveness, whereas institutional work culture is proven to have no significant direct impact on daily task effectiveness. Nevertheless, all three independent variables were empirically proven to indirectly affect employee work effectiveness through the mediation of work expectation fulfillment. The practical implications of this study demand that the management of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Pati Branch, shift beyond the normative socialization of corporate cultural values to instead reinforce participative leadership approaches and affective commitment. This is crucial to guarantee the fulfillment of employees' professional expectations, ultimately driving sustainable operational productivity in banking.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Product Knowledge, Positioning, and Brand Trust on Purchase Decision through Product Benefit Testimonials in the context of male-vitality coffee marketed by PT BIOESA Bandung, Indonesia. The study was motivated by increasing competition among coffee products offering additional health and vitality-related benefits, which may require consumers to develop greater confidence before purchasing. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected from 500 male consumers who had purchased and/or consumed the product using a structured questionnaire comprising 25 indicators representing five constructs: Product Knowledge, Positioning, Brand Trust, Product Benefit Testimonials, and Purchase Decision. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Hypotheses were assessed using bootstrapping at a 5% significance level. The results indicate that Product Knowledge does not significantly affect Product Benefit Testimonials, whereas Brand Trust has a positive and significant effect on Product Benefit Testimonials. Product Knowledge and Brand Trust have positive and significant direct effects on Purchase Decision, while Positioning has no significant direct effect. Product Benefit Testimonials significantly influence Purchase Decision. Product Benefit Testimonials do not significantly mediate the relationships between Product Knowledge and Purchase Decision or between Positioning and Purchase Decision. However, they significantly mediate the relationship between Brand Trust and Purchase Decision. Within the studied product and its target consumer market, Brand Trust represents the most consistent mechanism in the proposed model, while Product Knowledge contributes more directly to purchase decision-making.
