Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the N-Tech and youth empowerment initiatives in Bayelsa State from 2019 to 2023, focusing on the N-Power Tech program. It seeks to explore the significance of the program, the factors that led to its establishment, and its effects on poverty alleviation and unemployment. Method: Employing a qualitative research framework, the study used a conventional methodology, with thematic analysis to examine data related to public policy, youth empowerment, and the N-Power initiative. Results: The findings revealed a strong correlation between the N-Power Tech program and the reduction of unemployment and poverty in Bayelsa State. It further highlighted the importance of rural development through this initiative to address the needs of the rural population, which constitutes a large part of the state's demographic. Novelty: This study contributes to understanding the role of human capital development through government-led initiatives such as N-Power Tech, emphasizing the need for political neutrality and awareness campaigns to maximize the program’s impact. It also advocates for targeted rural development to enhance the socio-economic well-being of the state.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the challenges and implications of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a pedagogical tool to enhance education in Nigeria. Specifically, it examines the potential obstacles and opportunities AI presents for educational growth and development in the Nigerian context. Method: The research adopts an exploratory approach, utilizing secondary data sources such as textbooks, published papers, internet resources, and newspaper reports. The data were organized thematically and analyzed through content analysis, guided by the connectivism learning theory as the analytical framework. Results: The findings indicate that AI has the potential to customize learning experiences to suit individual student needs, abilities, and learning styles. It can provide personalized support through real-time feedback, enhancing the overall learning process. Novelty: This study contributes to the discourse on integrating AI in education by highlighting its potential to improve Nigeria's educational system. It emphasizes the need for government investment in AI-driven educational tools, the enhancement of teaching materials, and curriculum development to foster a more scientific and globally competitive educational environment.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the quality of university education within the context of systemic corruption in Nigerian higher education institutions. Method: Using a conceptual and literature-based approach, the paper explores key themes including the definition of quality education, manifestations of corruption, and the typology of corrupt practices in Nigerian universities. It further analyzes challenges confronting the system such as inadequate funding, shortage of qualified personnel, poor infrastructure, and limited ICT resources. Results: The findings reveal that corruption—coupled with increasing demand for university education—significantly impairs institutional effectiveness, reduces academic standards, and undermines public trust. Key barriers to quality include insufficient financial support, weak quality assurance mechanisms, and politicization of university leadership. Novelty: This paper contributes to the discourse by linking systemic corruption directly to quality degradation in Nigerian universities and by offering actionable recommendations such as policy reform, depoliticization of leadership roles, improved funding, institutionalization of quality assurance practices, and strict sanctions against corrupt actors. These insights provide a roadmap for restoring integrity and enhancing educational outcomes in Nigeria’s higher education sector.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the underutilized yet significant role of women in peacemaking and security processes in Nigeria, focusing on their contributions as mediators, community leaders, and peacebuilders in conflict resolution and national development. Method: Utilizing J. Ann Tickner’s feminist security theory as the theoretical framework, the study adopts a qualitative approach through thematic content analysis of secondary sources, including published and unpublished academic literature. Results: Findings reveal that while women possess unique capabilities to address the social and economic dimensions of conflict, cultural, religious, and societal norms continue to marginalize them from formal decision-making in peace and security efforts. The research underscores the necessity of incorporating women into official peace negotiations and security frameworks to achieve more inclusive and sustainable conflict resolution outcomes. Novelty: This paper contributes original insight by contextualizing feminist security theory within the Nigerian peace-building landscape and highlighting the transformative potential of women's inclusion in national security strategies. It recommends institutional mechanisms and quota-based representation to ensure women's active participation in security and peacemaking processes at all governance levels.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine This study quantitatively explores the relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior correlation with insynthetic techniques. Method: The variable in this study is emotional intelligence towards aggressive behavior. The sample in this study amounted to 289 vocational students determined based on the table of Issacc and Michael with a level of 5%. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a negative association between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior. Results: The results of the study obtained were proven to have a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior, namely the significance value of emotional intelligence to aggressive behavior of 0.012 which means 0.012 < 0.05 with an rxy value of -0.133 (negatively correlated). This means that the higher the emotional intelligence, the lower the aggressive behavior. Conversely, the lower the emotional intelligence of the meal the higher the aggressive behavior. Novelty: This research was motivated by the phenomenon in adolescents at SMK "X" in Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of variables such as Servant Leadership, Training, and Motivation on the Performance of MRI (Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia) volunteers, with Loyalty as the intervening variable. Method: The population of this study consisted of 198 individuals. Non-probability sampling technique, specifically purposive sampling, was used, resulting in a sample size of 132 individuals. Data were collected using a questionnaire with measurement instruments employing a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis, and the Sobel test was utilized to determine the mediating effect of variables. Results: The research findings indicate a positive and significant partial influence of Servant Leadership, Motivation, Training, and Loyalty on Volunteer Performance. Additionally, there is a positive and significant partial influence of Servant Leadership, Motivation, and Training on Volunteer Loyalty. It was also observed that the variable of loyalty can mediate the relationship between Servant Leadership, Motivation, and Training, and Volunteer Performance. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence on the mediating role of loyalty in the relationship between Servant Leadership, Motivation, and Training with volunteer performance in the context of MRI (Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia), which has been less explored in existing volunteer management literature.

Abstract

Objective: This study will focus on exploring the picture of the bandwagon effect phenomenon in adolescents. Method: The location of the study was at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo, using 3 subjects from students at the school. The research process uses qualitative methods with a descriptive phenomenological approach. The use of this method aims to be able to explore deeper personal experiences of each subject, to then be analyzed and interpreted in depth. The data collection process was carried out by applying interviews guided by three aspects of the bandwagon effect, namely conformity, interpersonal influence, and status seeking. Results: Based on this process, it was found that aspects of conformity and interpersonal influence had a more dominant influence on the subject's decision to follow the trend without consideration, when compared to one other aspect, namely the status of seeking. In addition, results were also quite varied related to the impact of the bandwagon effect, which consisted of negative impacts and positive impacts from following the trend activities carried out by the subject. Novelty: This study highlights a phenomenological exploration of how adolescents are influenced by different aspects of the bandwagon effect—specifically comparing the dominance of conformity and interpersonal influence over status seeking—in a real-world school context.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the correlation between students' perceptions of the learning environment and science learning outcomes at MTs Negeri 1 Pasuruan. Method: Non-experimental quantitative research method with correlational research type. The population of this study were students in grades VII, VIII, and XI, the research sample numbered 96 people. Results: The relationship (correlation) between students' perceptions of the science learning environment and students' science learning outcomes, obtained a significant result of 0.95 <0.05 so that it shows that there is a positive correlation between the perception of the learning environment and the learning outcomes of students. The conclusion of this study is that there is a correlation between variables X and Y classified as very strong in the correlation test interpretation table. Novelty: This study highlights a very strong correlation between students' perceptions of the science learning environment and their science learning outcomes, providing empirical support for the importance of perception in educational success, specifically in the context of MTs Negeri 1 Pasuruan.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of social media use and the hedonic lifestyle of teenagers SMP X at Sidoarjo, with a sample population of 600 students. Method: The sample in this study was 221 with the sample determined according to strata which was then calculated using the 5% error rate table from Isac & Michael, with an average age of 13-16 years. This research uses an accidental sampling method and uses a psychological scale to measure hedonic lifestyle and intensity of social media use. To test the hypothesis, use Pearson product moment correlation analysis. Results: This research found that there was a relationship between the intensity of social media use and the hedonic lifestyle of teenagers SMP at Sidoarjo with an effective contribution of 84.1% as indicated by a correlation coefficient of r = 0.918 and a significance level of p = 0.000 (<0.05). It can be concluded that a hedonic lifestyle occurs more often in teenagers who use social media intensively, and vice versa. Novelty: This study highlights a strong positive correlation between social media intensity and hedonic lifestyle specifically among junior high school teenagers in Sidoarjo, providing quantitative insight (r = 0.918) into how digital behavior correlates with lifestyle patterns at a local educational level.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between resilience and psychological well-being concerning parenting stress in mothers with children with special needs. Method: The research employs a correlational study with a quantitative approach. The population for this study consists of mothers with children with special needs in Sidoarjo, specifically those whose children attend Special Needs Schools. The sampling technique used is a composite sampling method based on Cochran's formula, with a sample size of 76 participants. The measurement tools used in this study are the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) for resilience, the Psychological Well-Being 18 Scale by Ryff (PWB) for psychological well-being, and the Parental Stress Scale (PSS) for parenting stress. The data analysis technique employed is multiple regression analysis. Results: The results of this study indicate that, collectively, resilience and psychological well-being have a significant impact on parenting stress among mothers with children with special needs. Novelty: This study highlights the dual role of resilience and psychological well-being as combined predictors of parenting stress specifically in mothers with children with special needs, a population that has received limited attention in psychological correlational research.
