Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the level of community satisfaction with the services provided by the Hulu Sungai Utara District Regional Library and determine the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) based on several service indicators. Method: A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a sample of 94 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, literature reviews, and documentation. The research used the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) analysis, as prescribed by PERMENPAN-RB No. 14 of 2017, which applies a Likert scale to assess satisfaction across nine service elements. Results: The study found a Community Satisfaction Index of 76.1, placing the service quality in the "Less Good/Unsatisfied" category. While the highest satisfaction was recorded for requirements (79.4), the lowest was for facilities and infrastructure (74.2). Four service indicators, including completion time and staff competence, were identified as needing improvement. Novelty: This research provides valuable insights into public satisfaction with regional library services, highlighting specific service areas for enhancement and offering recommendations for improving overall service quality. It contributes to the body of knowledge on public service evaluation in Indonesia, particularly in library services.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores how gamification strategies can be utilized as an integrative framework to address both psychological recovery and Arabic language learning needs for children in post-disaster areas, who often face post-traumatic mental illness and learning difficulties. Method: A literature review (2020-2025) was conducted to examine the application of gamification aligned with Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) principles. The study highlights how game design elements, such as progression, choice, and collaboration, can address psychological needs for competence, autonomy, and relatedness, especially in post-trauma contexts. Results: The research finds that gamification, when contextualized to local culture and integrated with stress-free, sensitive content, promotes safe and meaningful Arabic language learning. The study also shows that dynamic engagement and positive feedback mechanisms within the game can enhance emotional regulation and resilience, leading to improved Arabic language skills, reduced stress levels, increased motivation, and stronger social bonds. Novelty: This study supports the effectiveness of holistic gamification in language learning as a psycho-educational intervention, providing hope, structure, and empowerment to children affected by disaster.

Abstract

Objective: Resilience is an individual's ability to maintain adaptive functioning and recover optimally after facing stress, difficulties, or psychosocial risk experiences. The study aims to explore the dynamic nature of resilience and identify the factors influencing it. Method: The research method used is a literature review, with the literature for this study accessed by the author from electronic document providers such as Google Scholar, Scopus, EBSCO, and Science Direct. The researcher searched for literature using the keywords "resilience, resilience factor, resilience protective factor, resilience risk factor, resilience antecedent, resilience outcome.” Results: The presence of protective factors, such as personal competence, self-efficacy, self-esteem, optimism, family support, and social support systems, plays an important role in increasing resilience, while risk factors such as stress, anxiety, and psychological pressure are negatively correlated with it. High levels of resilience are associated with better mental and physical health, subjective well-being, and optimal quality of life. Novelty: The study highlights the dynamic nature of resilience as an evolving process influenced by both internal and environmental factors. It emphasizes the significant role of protective factors like self-efficacy and social support in fostering resilience, and their positive impact on mental health and quality of life, offering a more nuanced understanding of resilience beyond being a fixed trait.

Abstract

Objective: To assess the regulatory and structural challenges that face community radio stations in Nigeria and how these challenges undermine their ability to foster intercultural dialogue and strengthen national unity. Method: The study used a qualitative research design based on secondary sources, including textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and governmental reports, which underwent strict content analysis. Results: Regulatory barriers, such as high licensing charges, obscure frequency allocation, and slow bureaucracy, limit community radio formation. Structural challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, funding shortages, and political influence, hinder culturally relevant programming and the potential for promoting intercultural dialogue and national unity. Novelty: The paper recommends policy changes to eliminate regulatory barriers, raise funds for infrastructure, and ensure political independence, including inclusive licensing, financial incentives, and editorial independence for community radio stations.

Show Abstract | Download Original | Original Source | Check in Google Scholar | DOI: 10.61796/ijss.v3i1.99

Abstract

Objective: The research explores how hybrid work affects interpersonal relationships between employees in organizations, focusing on communication and social cohesion. Method: A descriptive-analytical methodology was used, with a questionnaire as the instrument to collect data from 85 employees in an organization that operates a hybrid work system. The survey included closed and open-ended questions to measure socialization, communication tools' efficiency, and work-life balance satisfaction. Results: Hybrid work has a dual effect: it offers greater flexibility, higher satisfaction, and better time management, but limits informal communication. On-site employees showed higher social interaction and organizational commitment, while remote employees had lower social cohesion. Digital communication tools support connectivity but cannot replace face-to-face meetings for trust and relationship development. Organizational collaboration culture was the most significant predictor of social satisfaction. Novelty: The study reveals the importance of organizational culture and digital tools in hybrid work's impact on social relationships, emphasizing the need for well-implemented communication instruments.
