Abstract

In this research, several problems were studied, namely related to the process of generation Z in learning and using bilingualism (Indonesia-Korea) in their social interactions and what motivation generation Z has in using bilingualism when interacting. Based on this problem, the researcher decided to conduct research in the eastern part of Surabaya. The choice of the area was based on the number of campuses in East Surabaya. This is because students belong to generation Z where they are more open and aware of popular culture such as Korean Wafe. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. In this research, researchers used Lev Manovich's new media theory and Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism theory. This research reveals that the phenomenon of Indonesian-Korean bilingualism is caused by the Hallyu phenomenon, they study Korean culture by taking advantage of the convenience or features available in new media. Apart from that, they use Indonesian-Korean bilingualism based on emotional meaning, identity meaning and self-image meaning.

Abstract

This action research seeks to train journal managers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya to design the journal website’s layouts through a training webinar. The journal website’s layout becomes the main criteria to apply for journal accreditation. This action research utilizes Participatory Action Research method, which includes problem formulation, planning, and reflecting upon social changes that happened. This action research was conducted for a month, with lecturers in charge of managing seven journal websites of FISIP UINSA as the participants. The results of this action research prove that there are seven stages that need to be done in optimizing journal site management, including consultation with supervisors with the output of revised action research designs; socialization to journal site managers resulting in good journal site criteria; submitting proposals to training webinar speakers; organizing a Journal Site Management Training Webinar with video recording; implementing the results of the webinar by improving the appearance of the journal site; socializing the improved journal site through tutorial video and survey; and designing a roadmap to apply for journal accreditation.

Abstract

This study discusses the Labor-Intensive U-Ditch Production Program as a strategy to improve the welfare of low-income communities (MBR) in Tambak Wedi Village, Kenjeran District, Surabaya, and collaboration between stakeholders in its implementation. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The subjects of the study included program workers, the Bina Marga Agency, and CV Nahila Perkasa Mandiri selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and verification with source triangulation to ensure validity. The results of the study show that this program has succeeded in creating jobs, increasing income, providing access to health services, developing new skills, and strengthening social relations in the community. Collaboration between stakeholders is effective, where the Surabaya government acts as an initiator and facilitator, the Water Resources and Bina Marga Agency manages and supervises the program, sub-district heads and village heads help with socialization, the community actively participates as workers, and CV Nahila Perkasa Mandiri provides U-Ditch materials. This program not only has an impact on improving economic welfare, but also contributes to strengthening social relations and developing community capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the film "Dua Hati Biru" which raises the issue of the household life of young couples. This film depicts conflicts in the household that are relevant to the reality of community life. Conflicts in the film not only create social tension, but can also have a positive impact if resolved properly. Using qualitative research methods, researchers can explore in depth the conflicts of household life in the film Dua Hati Biru. A sociological literary approach is used to analyze the conflicts and integration depicted in the film's scenes, showing how conflicts affect household life while reflecting the conditions of social life in society. It is proven that as many as 58 percent of wives have conflicts with their in-laws about child care, making wives feel that their decisions are not appreciated. There is an identity crisis for couples who cannot meet the expectations of their roles and responsibilities as parents. In addition, financial instability in young couples often leads to household breakdowns, which is also one of the reasons why Generation Z is reluctant to marry. There is also toxic masculinity that is rooted in the structure of gender roles, especially among Generation Z in a patriarchal culture. This analysis refers to Lewis A. Coser's theory of conflict and integration, which is relevant to society. The study found 16 conflicts in the film Dua Hati Biru, involving husband-wife, parent-child, and in-law-in-law relationships. These conflicts are divided into 14 realistic conflicts and 2 non-realistic conflicts, reflecting the challenges of young couples such as financial problems, childcare, differences in family decisions, and parental interference. Abstract

Human trafficking merupakan permasalahan serius yang melibatkan eksploitasi manusia dalam berbagai bentuk, termasuk pekerja migran Indonesia yang rentan terhadap perdagangan orang. Migrant CARE, sebuah organisasi non-pemerintah, menjalankan peran penting dalam memberikan pendampingan kepada korban melalui pendekatan holistik yang mencakup bantuan hukum, konseling psikologis, pemberdayaan ekonomi, dan penyediaan tempat singgah aman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi untuk menunjang atas proses pendampingan yang telah dilakukan oleh pihak Migrant CARE, tantangan yang dihadapi, dan relevansinya dengan teori pemberdayaan Paulo Freire. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kendala seperti hambatan birokrasi, kurangnya harmonisasi hukum, dan keterbatasan akses komunikasi di tingkat internasional memperlambat perlindungan korban. Oleh karena itu, penguatan regulasi, edukasi masyarakat, dan kolaborasi internasional menjadi solusi kunci dalam pencegahan serta perlindungan terhadap perdagangan manusia. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya memulihkan korban tetapi juga membangun kesadaran kritis sebagai dasar perubahan sosial.

Abstract

Pendidikan dasar Islam menghadapi tantangan sosial-budaya berupa melemahnya keteladanan, partisipasi, dan kemandirian peserta didik di tengah tuntutan modernitas. Artikel ini bertujuan merekonstruksi pendidikan dasar Islam melalui pendekatan sosial-budaya dengan menggunakan Trilogi Pendidikan Ki Hadjar Dewantara sebagai kerangka konseptual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka dengan menganalisis karya-karya Ki Hadjar Dewantara serta literatur pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip ing ngarsa sung tulada, ing madya mangun karsa, dan tut wuri handayani relevan sebagai fondasi pembentukan kultur pendidikan yang humanistik, partisipatif, dan kontekstual. Trilogi tersebut tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai metode pedagogis, tetapi juga sebagai mekanisme pembentukan nilai dan relasi sosial dalam lingkungan sekolah. Abstract

Era internet telah secara signifikan membentuk ulang komunikasi keagamaan Islam, khususnya praktik dakwah dan tarbiyah. Perkembangan media digital menggeser dakwah dari ruang fisik konvensional ke ruang daring yang dinamis, ditandai oleh kecepatan, interaktivitas, dan logika media. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan Islam dituntut untuk ber­a­daptasi dengan mengintegrasikan kreativitas, literasi digital, dan pendekatan pedagogis yang kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peluang dan tantangan dakwah dan tarbiyah di era internet melalui perspektif teori difusi inovasi, determinisme teknologi, mediatization of religion, dan ekologi media. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Sys­te­ma­tic Literature Review dengan menganalisis publikasi ilmiah yang relevan untuk mengi­den­ti­fikasi pola dan isu utama. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial memperluas jangkauan dakwah, mendorong kreativitas keagamaan, dan memperkuat keterlibatan partisipatif. Namun, media digital juga memunculkan tantangan berupa pemahaman keagamaan yang dangkal, fragmentasi otoritas keagamaan, disinformasi, serta melemah­nya keteguhan akademik. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa dakwah kreatif dan tarbiyah adaptif merupakan kebutuhan struktural dalam ekosistem media kontemporer yang menuntut integrasi kreativitas, etika, otoritas keilmuan, dan tanggung jawab pedagogis.

Abstract

This study addresses two major issues in urban communities: the administrative and less impactful nature of university internship programs, and the absence of systematic alternative learning spaces to support elementary students facing academic difficulties at home. In urban contexts marked by limited parental time, economic pressure, and weak domestic academic assistance, community-based learning institutions are increasingly necessary. This research analyzes the institutionalization process of the “Urban Islamic After-School Lab” model as an alternative learning space integrating educational support, literacy enhancement, and Islamic values formation in Surabaya. Using action research, the study involved fourth- and fifth-grade students in Kelurahan Babad Jerawat. The research followed five stages: initial assessment, problem identification, focus group discussion, corrective action, and final assessment. The intervention emphasized reading literacy and religious literacy as foundational aspects of academic and moral development. Findings indicate that the model improved students’ literacy outcomes and transformed internships into structured social praxis, strengthening university–community engagement and revitalizing higher education’s social function in urban settings.
