Abstract

The research was aimed: 1) to analyze all activities which were carried out in learning English that used Google Classroom in Students of class VIII at a private school in Central Java in 2021/2022 Academic Years; 2) to analyze students’ perception in teaching learning English towards Google Classroom in Students of class VIII at a private school in Central Java in 2021/2022 Academic Years. Method that used in this research was descriptive qualitative method. The sample of the research were 35 students of Eighth Grade. For collecting data technique, the researcher used interview with English teacher and distributed questionnaire to the students via Google form. Then, the researcher used triangulation to validity the data. For analyzed the data, the researcher used some steps: collecting data, reducting data, displaying data, and verficating data. The result of this research showed that there were some activities which were carried out using Google Classroom namely: explaining the learning material by the teacher, giving the assignment by the teacher, discussing about the material and assignment to the teacher, doing the assignment and sending the result of the assignment by the students. The students perception towards the use Google Classroom was varied namely: students can learn anytime and anywhere, Google Classroom helps students to develop their ability in reading and writing English skill and students can accept learning material easily to understand. Abstract

A speech act is an act performed by saying something. This study aims : 1) to find_out_thetypes of locutionary act, 2) to find out the types of perlocutionary act, and 3) to find out thetypes of illocutionary act in The Blind Side movie by John Lee Hancock. Moreover, this studyconcerned on the use of directive speech act. The researcher used qualitative method with thetype of a library research to describe and analyze the utterances that consisted of speech act.The method of collecting data is non-participant observation and documentation. Interactivemodel data of analysis used to analyze the data. The result of this study showed that : 1) therewere 227 utterances consisted of locutionary act which had no types, 2) there are 227utterances consisted of perlocutionary act which had no types and 3) there are 227 utterancesconsisted of illocutionary act which included asserives, declaratives, commisives, expressivesand declaratives. Furthermore, the writer found 131 utterances consisted of directive speechact which had 31 of requirements, 64 of questions, 20 of requestives, 6 of prohibitives, 3 ofpermissives and 7 of advisories. Abstract

The process of converting something written or spoken into another language is known astranslation. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify the techniques implemented totranslate batik terms in bilingual book of 50 Tahun Danar Hadi Solo and (2) to analyze how thetranslation techniques implemented affect the translation quality in terms of accuracy,acceptability, and readability. The researcher here applied descriptive qualitative method and thetype is library research to find out and examine batik terms. The technique of collecting data iscontent analysis and interview. The result of this research presented that: 1) there were 53 batikterms translated by applying one translation technique, 2) there were 54 batik terms translated byapplying two or more translation techniques, 3) there were 107 data are accurate, 66 data areacceptable and 87 data are readable. Next, the researcher discovered 111 data as batik termswhich contain cultural and Javanese meaning in the target language. The outcome of thisresearch also presented that Established Equivalent was the most used translation technique bythe translator since all data contain equivalence between the source and target languages.Keywords: Translation, Cultural Term, Qualitative Research

Abstract

The research was aimed: 1) To To analyze the students motivation in e-learninng troughgoogle classroom on writting skill at eight grade SMP N 1 Kaliwungu, Semarang and, 2) Toanalyze the problem on students of motivation intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in e-learning atstudent’s eight grade of SMP N 1 Kaliwungu, Semarang. This research was conducted on August2021, . The researcher took 33 students 8A grade of SMP N 1 Kaliwungu as the subject. A casestudy qualitative research was used in this study. To collect the data, the researcher usedquestionnaire and interview. The questionnaire above used the document and share to the studentsafter interview with the teacher face-to-face. To validity data, the researcher used datatriangulation. To analyzed data used qualitative interactive: data reduction, data, display,conclucion drawing/verification. The result of the research show that: 1) the students’ motivationintrinsic in E-learning English used Google Classroom was the students easily understood thematerial and it was not too difficult. The students’ motivation extrinsic in E-learning English useGoogle Classroom application was the students were less interested in students because they weremore interested in other subjects than English. 2) The students problems in e-learning troughgoogle classroom on writing skill, they were very enthusiastic about offline learning than elearningwith Google Classroom application for distance learning especially on writing skillKeywords : Student Motivation, E-Learning,Google Classroom,Writing skill

Abstract

The objectives of this research were followed: 1) Implementation digital media forstudents’ eight grade to learn English at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Masaran and 2) motivatethe students’ eight grade to learn English using digital media at MTs Muhammadiyah 3Masaran. The research used descriptive qualitative which conducted in OctoberNovember 2021, The subject of the research was the students of especially 8A with 22students at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Masaran in 2020/2021 academic year. The researcherused observation, interview and questionnaie with teacher and students’ to collect thedata. The researcher used data triangulation to analyze data of observation, interview andquestionnaire the researcher used the table questionnaire and share via whatsapp. Theresults of the research on student learning motivation consisted of intrinsic and extrinsicfactors by knowing the character of students to increased motivation and interested inlearning, giving a positive response to learning English used digital media during theCovid-19 pandemic, could foster students' independent learning attitudes. Teachers andschools could provide good motivation to students in the right way, such as prepared anddesigning teaching materials according to the needs, competencies of students, providingfacilities and infrastructure. So that students are interested in the learning process and canmotivate themselves to be active in learning English, especially by using digital media.Keywords: Motivation, Learning English, Digital Media
