Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of using Canva templates on students' work efficiency and creativity. Canva is a web-based platform that provides a wide range of ready-to-use design templates to support teaching and learningactivities. Previous studies have shown that Canva is an effective learning medium that enhances students' engagement, creativity, and productivity. Thisstudy employed a literature review method to analyze findings from relevant scientific publications. The results indicate that Canva's template features helpstudents complete their tasks more efficiently, foster creativity, and create a more engaging and interactive learning environment. Therefore, the use of Canva templates can serve as an effective alternative learning medium to improve the quality of teaching and learning at SMP 3 Ibrahimy.

Abstract

This study examines the agricultural lexicon used by the farming community in Kromong Village, Jombang Regency from an ethnolinguistic perspective. The research aims to describe the distinctive agricultural lexicon of the Kromong Village farming community, analyze the cultural meanings embedded within these lexicons, and identify the shift in traditional agricultural lexicons among younger generations due to agricultural modernization. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using linguistic ethnographic methods. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, elicitation, and documentation. Key informants were farmers aged 45–70 years who are native speakers of the Jombang Javanese dialect. The results show that the Kromong Village farming community possesses a rich agricultural lexicon encompassing: (1) cultivation stage lexicons, (2) traditional farming tool lexicons, (3) Javanese agricultural calendar system lexicons (pranatamangsa), (4) ritual and prayer lexicons, and (5) social relationship lexicons among farmers. (6) Shifting agricultural lexicon among young people. Each lexicon carries cultural meanings closely related to the value systems, beliefs, and local wisdom of the Jombang farming community. The study also found that most traditional agricultural lexicons are undergoing shifts or are threatened with extinction as modern technology enters and intergenerational transmission weakens.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged many business sectors to adopt computer-based systems to enhance operational effectiveness. One type of business that still relies on manual record-keeping is the public telephone kiosk (wartel), particularly in managing customer queues and recording transactions. Manual systems often lead to issues such as disorganized queue sequences, errors in transaction data entry, and difficulties in retrieving customer data. This study aims to implement the Selection Sort algorithm in a FIFO-based customer queue system. This implementation is expected to improve the efficiency of transaction data processing at wartel establishments. The FIFO method is applied to manage customer handling based on arrival time, while Selection Sort is used to sort transaction data according to transaction time and payment amount. The system development follows the Waterfall methodology, which consists of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The findings indicate that the combination of FIFO and Selection Sort is effective in helping manage queues and accelerating the process of generating orderly transaction reports. The resulting system improves data accuracy and facilitates staff in delivering better service to customers.
