Abstract

The seminar on introducing the Al-Qur'an application in education plays a crucial role in improving students' understanding of the Quran at SMPN 1 Jangkar. The Al-Qur'an application is a digital learning medium that can help students recognize the hijaiyah letters, tajweed, and pronounce the Quran more accurately. The seminar involved delivering material and practicing the application directly, enabling students to understand the available features and use them independently. The data collection instrument used a closed-ended questionnaire to assess students' responses to the seminar and the use of the Al-Qur'an application. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of the Quran and a positive response to the application's use as a learning medium. This activity also encourages the use of digital technology in Quran learning in schools.

Abstract

Health is a basic need for everyone that must be met first to be able to carry out their activities. Mental health is no exception, and it is important to maintain and care for it to prevent events that could damage the soul. Community service activities in the form of health education are one method to increase students' understanding of mental health. Understanding mental health is crucial so that it can be used to control emotions. Adolescence is a stage of growth that is a very sensitive phase in dealing with the problems they face. The target of this community service activity is 62 students who are still studying in high school. The aim is to increase the students' understanding of mental health. The implementation method is carried out face-to-face at the mosque using a lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer model. This is then followed by presentation of material and a question-and-answer discussion, as well as sharing of students' personal experiences. The community service activity has had positive results for the students, with data obtained indicating an increase in understanding, especially regarding mental health. This was evident when the team asked students about the material that had been presented and gave correct answers. The team provided suggestions for maintaining and practicing it to maintain emotional well-being and be able to socialize in daily life. And it is still necessary to provide follow-up activities to be able to provide full awareness and habits in maintaining mental health for students.

Abstract

Low levels of digital literacy among rural adolescents and youth leave them vulnerable to exposure to pornography, which can harm their psychosocial development. This community service initiative aimed to raise awareness and understanding regarding the wise use of social media and the dangers of pornography among adolescents and youth in Karangguli Village, Pulau-Pulau Aru District, Aru Islands Regency. The program employed interactive outreach, small-group discussions, and simulations on rejecting negative content, involving 13 local adolescents and youths in September 2025. Evaluation was conducted through participant observation and verbal reflection. The results demonstrated increased understanding, evidenced by the participants' ability to identify harmful content and formulate assertive refusals, as well as the establishment of a shared commitment to maintaining a healthy digital environment. This activity serves as an initial step toward fostering community-based digital resilience in island villages.

Abstract

Lempuing Subdistrict, Bengkulu City, has abundant herbal plants in residents' yards, but the community's knowledge and skills in processing them into healthy drinks are still limited. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and business readiness of housewives in processing herbal plants into healthy drinks. The implementation method uses a participatory extension approach with three stages: planning (observation and interviews), implementation (extension, demonstration, direct practice of making ginger tea and infused water), and evaluation using the CIPP model. The target of the activity was 20 housewives from RT 04, Lempuing Subdistrict. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the benefits of herbal plants and the dangers of consuming packaged instant drinks. All participants successfully practiced making herbal drinks independently with hygienic results. As many as 40% of participants expressed interest in developing this product into a home business. The hands-on training has proved effective in improving community skills while opening up economic opportunities based on local resources.

Abstract

The mathematics learning process at the elementary school level still faces many challenges, particularly the lack of enthusiasm for learning and the obstacles experienced by students in understanding abstract mathematical concepts. Bustanul Huda Elementary School, Surabaya, is one of the elementary schools facing these challenges, where some students face challenges in working on math problems independently. This activity aims to introduce and provide training on the use of the Photomath application. Photomath as a learning aid for students at Bustanul Huda Elementary School, Surabaya. The implementation method uses a participatory and demonstrative approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The preparation stage is carried out through an initial survey, coordination with the school, and the preparation of seminar materials and training modules. The implementation stage includes a seminar on introducing mathematics learning technology, a workshop on using the Photomath application, and guided independent practice with the assistance of a community service team. The evaluation stage is carried out through a participant satisfaction questionnaire and observations during the activity. This activity was attended by 20 fifth and sixth grade students at Bustanul Huda Elementary School, Surabaya. The results of the activity stated that the use of the Photomath application has a positive influence on the mathematics learning process. 87% of participants stated that the Photomath app helped them understand how to solve math problems, 79% felt their motivation to learn increased, and 91% stated they would continue using the app as a tool in their math learning. Thus, the Photomath app can be used as a supporting learning tool that helps students understand mathematical ideas in a more visual, interactive, and independent way.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has changed the interaction and learning patterns of elementary school students in using computers and the internet. This community service activity aims to strengthen the digital literacy of Tabanan Islamic Elementary School students through a seminar on computer security and ethics. This activity provides a great opportunity for Tabanan Islamic Elementary School students to instill an understanding of computer security and ethics. The method used is through several stages, namely planning with the school, conducting an interactive seminar using presentation methods, questions and answers, and simulations of safe internet use, data collection through questionnaires, and activity evaluation. The material presented includes maintaining security and ethics on social media in healthy and responsible computer use. Thus, the seminar on computer security and ethics has been proven to provide benefits in the form of safe and responsible technology use behavior.

Abstract

With the rapid development of digital technology, understanding media literacy, especially in creating educational visual content, is very important. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the CapCut platform as a learning tool to enhance creative skills in video making. The research methods used include theory explanation, device demonstration, intensive guidance, and end-product-based evaluation. The research was conducted at Rayon IKSASS Sumatera Putri. The target of the study were members who had technical issues using CapCut software and had not yet optimised their laptop use for making professional videos with CapCut. The results show that participants' practical skills and innovation increase significantly when they create and develop innovative video content. This study reinforces the conclusion that the CapCut platform is highly relevant as an adaptable and useful learning media.

Abstract

The ability to operate Microsoft Word to manage documents is an essential component of digital literacy that students must possess to support academic activities. However, a number of female students at Ibrahimy 3 Junior High School, Sukorejo, still face obstacles when applying basic word processing functions, including page configuration, text arrangement, heading utilization, automatic table of contents creation, and table creation. The Microsoft Word training attended by 30 eighth-grade female students of Ibrahimy 3 Junior High School, Sukorejo, aimed to improve students' document processing skills. This community service activity used a qualitative descriptive method divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The main focus of the research was to describe the process and achievements of the training. The training integrated three main methods: lectures, live demonstrations, and guided practice. The material presented included margin settings, font and paragraph formatting, heading creation, automatic table of contents, page numbering, and table insertion. The participants' ability to produce neat documents significantly improved after participating in this activity. Previously, participants were only able to type plain text, but now the students are able to compose well-structured and formatted documents. Practical and guided training has proven effective in strengthening the digital document processing skills of junior high school students based on this activity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of PowerPoint-based presentations on students' learning motivation at MA Nurul Khoiroh Pekarangan Kelir Kalipuro Banyuwangi. The background of this research is based on the low learning motivation of students, characterized by a lack of active participation, minimal attention to the subject matter, and low initiative in asking questions or engaging in discussions during the learning process. This study employed a qualitative and quantitative approach, with data collection instruments in the form of learning motivation questionnaires administered to 16 female students as respondents. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed a significant increase in students' learning motivation after the implementation of PowerPoint-based learning, with the average score rising from 58.8 in the pre-test to 78.6 in the post-test. All students experienced a shift in motivation category from moderate to high. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of PowerPoint-based presentations has a positive and significant effect on students learning motivation at MA Nurul Khoiroh Pekarangan Kelir Kalipuro Banyuwangi.

Abstract

The development of digital technology requires students to possess adequate digital literacy and creativity skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of graphic design training using Adobe Photoshop, analyze the improvement of students’ digital skills and creativity, and identify students’ responses to the program. The research employed a descriptive approach involving 32 students of SMP Negeri 1 Jangkar. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and performance assessment. The results showed that student attendance reached 95%, active participation was 88%, and task completion was 84%. The average score increased from 58 in the pre-test to 84 in the post-test, with a mastery level of 84%. Most students responded positively to the training. The findings indicate that practice-based training using Adobe Photoshop is effective in improving students’ graphic design skills, creativity, and digital literacy.
