Abstract

Malnutrition factors arise due to wrong diets such as overeating or eating unbalanced foods. Insufficient nutritional intake, causes menstrual irregularities in most young women. This study aims to determine the relationship between diet and nutritional status with the menstrual cycle in students of SMAN 13 Luwu. This study is an observational study with a Cross-Sectional study design. The sample was 138 students of SMAN 13 Luwu who were selected by simple random sampling. The diet was obtained through interviews using the food frequency questioinaire form. Nutritional status is obtained through weighing weight and measuring height based on Body Mass Index (BMI). The Menstrual Cycle is obtained through an interview using a questionnaire. The results showed that the diet is sufficient as much 39,9%, the diet is less as much 60,1%. Nutritional status is less by 31,2%, good nutritional status is 52,2%, nutritional status is more by 7,2%. A normal menstrual cycle of 78,3%, an abnormal menstrual cycle of 21,7%. The results of statistical tests between dietary variables and nutritional status with the menstrual cycle showed no relationship between diet and menstrual cycle and no relationship between nutritional status and menstrual cycle. Further research suggestions are expected for female students who have a deficient diet to improve their diet, pay attention to the type, amount and frequency of eating. For students who have abnormal nutritional status in order to be able to meet their nutritional intake according to their needs. For researchers, they can further examine the classification of diet less than adequate diet as well as nutritional status to further examine abnormal nutritional status compared to normal nutritional status so that more details can be obtained about the relationship between diet and nutritional status with the menstrual cycle.

The duration of using the gadget was obtained through a questionnaire, the intake of macronutrients was obtained through a 2x24 hour recall and nutritional status was obtained from anthropometric measurements. Statistical test with the Chi Square test using the SPSS program. Data is presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and narratives. The results showed that the duration of using the sample gadgets was 47.4% sufficient and 52.6% more. The sample protein intake was 31.9% sufficient and 68.1% insufficient. The sample fat intake was 44% sufficient and 56% insufficient. The sample carbohydrate intake was 29.3% sufficient and 70.7% insufficient. Statistical test results between the variable duration of gadget use and protein intake, carbohydrate intake and nutritional status showed (P > 0.005) so there was no relationship. Meanwhile, the statistical test results between the variable duration of gadget use and fat intake (P < 0.005) so that there is a relationship between the duration of gadget use and fat intake. It is recommended to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle, especially reducing the duration of using gadgets and increasing intake of macronutrients in order to achieve adequate consumption levels

Abstract

Premenopause is a phase in the aging process when a woman undergoes the transition from the reproductive stage to the non-reproductive stage, which occurs before menopause. During this period, there are endocrine, biological, and clinical changes, signaling the onset of menopause and covering the first year or twelve months after menopause. The nutritional status is directly assessed using anthropometric measurements, such as height and weight. The normal BMI (Body Mass Index) is considered to be between 18.5 and 25 kg/m2. Sexual satisfaction in premenopausal women in this study refers to the discomfort in the aspect of female sexuality caused by vaginal thinning due to decreased estrogen levels, resulting in reluctance to engage in sexual activities. This research is conducted using an Analytical research design with a Cross-Sectional Study approach, which focuses on measuring independent and dependent variables simultaneously. The method used for this study is Observational with a Cross-Sectional Study approach to examine the relationship between Nutritional Status and Sexual Satisfaction in Premenopausal women at Tamalanrea Jaya Primary Health Center in 2018. The population of this study consists of all mothers, with a sample size of 30 people, selected through Purposive Sampling technique. The research results indicate that there is a significant relationship between nutritional status and sexual satisfaction with a value of p = 0.0001. The study also shows that there is a relationship between nutritional status and sexual satisfaction in premenopausal women with a value of p = 0.012. (p ≤ 0.05)

Abstract

The pineapple fruit (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) has medicinal properties as a traditional remedy. The pineapple fruit peel is rich in active compounds such as flavonoids, bromelain enzyme, and vitamin C, which are known for their antibacterial properties. This activity is more effective when incorporated into soap formulations. Soap that can kill bacteria is known as antiseptic soap. In this study, the extract of pineapple fruit peel is used to determine whether it can be formulated into a transparent solid soap and to determine the concentration of the extract that meets the requirements for physical evaluation and stability testing of the transparent solid soap formulation. The research is conducted as an experiment by making transparent solid soap. The pineapple fruit peel is extracted using the maceration method with 96% ethanol as the solvent. The obtained extract is then used to create a transparent solid soap formulation with concentrations of 0.5% (F1), 1.0% (F2), and 1.5% (F3) of the pineapple fruit peel extract. This formulation is evaluated through physical evaluation, which includes organoleptic testing, pH testing, foam height testing, water content testing, hardness testing, free alkali number testing, cycling test, and antibacterial activity testing. The antibacterial activity testing shows that all formulations of transparent solid soap with pineapple fruit peel extract can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, with the largest inhibition zone observed in F3 with a diameter of 26.8 mm against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Background: Hyperemesis Gravidarum is excessive nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. This nausea and vomiting can be dangerous for pregnant women because the intensity of the vomiting exceeds that of morning sickness (emesis gravidarum) which occurs early in pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting are physiological things that occur in early pregnancy, but nausea and vomiting that continues to get worse will cause hyperemesis gravidarum which can cause dehydration and acidoketosis. Ginger is a herbal plant that has long been known to prevent nausea and vomiting. Giving ginger candy is effective in reducing the frequency of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester. Objective: To identify the effectiveness of ginger candy against nausea and vomiting in pregnant women who experience hyperemesis gravidarum. Method: This study used the Quasy Experimental research method with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. The sample in this study was 30 pregnant women in the first trimester (0-12 weeks) who experienced nausea and vomiting. Results: The results of this study show that the average value before being given ginger candy was 15.50, while the average value after being given the treatment was 0.00. The results of giving ginger candy to pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum in the first trimester are quite effective.
