Abstract

Abtrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis peserta didik kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal terbuka (open-ended problem) pada materi lingkaran di SMP Negeri Hubakma Kabupaten Yalimo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek enam peserta didik kelas VIII yang dipilih secara purposif berdasarkan hasil tes awal, yaitu dua subjek kategori tinggi, dua subjek kategori sedang, dan dua subjek kategori rendah. Instrumen penelitian meliputi peneliti sebagai instrumen utama, tes berpikir kreatif matematis, pedoman wawancara, observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Data dianalisis melalui kondensasi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, serta pengecekan keabsahan melalui perpanjangan pengamatan, peningkatan ketekunan, dan triangulasi waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek kategori tinggi mampu memunculkan indikator kefasihan, keluwesan, keaslian, dan elaborasi meskipun masih ditemukan kekeliruan kecil pada hasil akhir. Subjek kategori sedang mampu memunculkan kefasihan dan keluwesan, tetapi keaslian serta elaborasi belum konsisten. Subjek kategori rendah terutama memperlihatkan kefasihan, sedangkan keluwesan, keaslian, dan elaborasi belum berkembang secara memadai. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa soal terbuka pada materi lingkaran dapat digunakan untuk memetakan profil berpikir kreatif matematis sekaligus menunjukkan perlunya pembelajaran yang lebih sering memberi ruang bagi peserta didik untuk menemukan lebih dari satu strategi penyelesaian. Abstract: This study aims to describe students' creative mathematical thinking ability in the high, moderate, and low categories when solving open-ended problems on circle material at SMP Negeri Hubakma, Yalimo Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving six eighth-grade students selected purposively based on an initial test: two students in the high category, two in the moderate category, and two in the low category. The instruments consisted of the researcher as the main instrument, a creative mathematical thinking test, interview guidelines, observation, and field notes. The data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and validity checking through prolonged observation, increased persistence, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that students in the high category were able to demonstrate fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration, although minor computational errors were still found. Students in the moderate category demonstrated fluency and flexibility, but originality and elaboration were not yet consistent. Students in the low category mainly demonstrated fluency, while flexibility, originality, and elaboration were not sufficiently developed. These findings suggest that open-ended circle problems can be used to map students' creative mathematical thinking profiles and highlight the need for mathematics instruction that provides more opportunities for students to develop multiple solution strategies. Abstract

Abstract: Civics education (PKn) plays a crucial role in shaping social awareness and humanitarian values within society. In Heram District, Jayapura City, structural challenges in the form of poverty and limited access to education have implications for the low awareness of civic rights. This study aims to explore and analyze the role of civics education as a vehicle for transformation in enhancing the social awareness of local citizens. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 informants comprising community leaders, educators, and youths; participant observation within the learning community; and documentary studies. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques within an interactive model. The results indicate that civics education articulated through an experiential learning approach is capable of: (1) reconstructing citizens' understanding of political rights and social obligations, (2) escalating collective participation in local development, and (3) strengthening social cohesion among community groups. This study concludes that community-based civics education effectively triggers critical awareness among citizens to identify and break the cycle of socio-economic problems in their environment. Keywords: Civics Education, Critical Awareness, Case Study, Jayapura.   Abstrak: Pendidikan kewarganegaraan (PKn) mempunyai peran krusial dalam membentuk kesadaran sosial serta nilai-nilai kemanusiaan di masyarakat. Di Kecamatan Heram, Kota Jayapura, tantangan struktural berupa kemiskinan dan keterbatasan akses pendidikan berimplikasi pada rendahnya kesadaran hak-hak kewargaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis peran PKn sebagai wahana transformasi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran sosial warga lokal. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap 10 informan yang terdiri dari tokoh masyarakat, pendidik, dan pemuda], observasi partisipatif pada komunitas pembelajaran, serta studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik dengan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PKn yang diartikulasikan melalui pendekatan berbasis pengalaman (experiential learning) mampu: (1) merekonstruksi pemahaman warga terhadap hak politik dan kewajiban sosial, (2) mengeskalasi partisipasi kolektif dalam pembangunan lokal, dan (3) memperkuat kohesi sosial antarkelompok masyarakat. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa PKn berbasis komunitas efektif memicu kesadaran kritis warga untuk mengidentifikasi dan memutus rantai problem sosial ekonomi di lingkungannya. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of computer-based learning through digital materials and online discussions on the learning outcomes of students in the Civics Education Study Program at Cenderawasih University. A quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest experimental design was applied to 60 students from the 2022 cohort. Data were collected through cognitive and psychomotor learning outcome tests, as well as a learning motivation questionnaire administered after the treatment. The computer-based learning intervention lasted for eight weeks, involving access to digital materials, online discussions, and structured assignments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test to compare scores before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean cognitive score increased from 56.83 to 80.83, and the psychomotor score increased from 50.83 to 78.78. The t-test revealed a significant difference (p < 0.05), and 85% of students reported feeling more motivated. These findings confirm that computer-based learning is effective in improving Civics Education students' learning outcomes through the provision of digital materials, flexibility, and online academic interaction. This study implies the importance of strengthening digital literacy and integrating technology into Civics Education courses in higher education. Keywords: computer-based learning, digital materials, online discussion, learning outcomes, Civics Education.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis komputer melalui materi digital dan diskusi daring terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa Program Studi PPKn Universitas Cenderawasih. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen pretest-posttest digunakan pada 60 mahasiswa angkatan 2022. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotorik, serta kuesioner motivasi belajar setelah perlakuan. Intervensi pembelajaran berbasis komputer berlangsung selama delapan minggu melalui akses materi digital, diskusi daring, dan tugas terstruktur. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji-t untuk membandingkan skor sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata skor kognitif meningkat dari 56,83 menjadi 80,83, dan psikomotorik dari 50,83 menjadi 78,78. Uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,05), serta 85% mahasiswa merasa lebih termotivasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis komputer efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa PPKn melalui penyediaan materi digital, fleksibilitas, dan interaksi akademik daring. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada penguatan literasi digital dan integrasi teknologi dalam perkuliahan PPKn di perguruan tinggi. Abstract

Abstract: Political education is a crucial aspect in building public awareness and participation in the democratic process. This article examines the role of political education in Sorabi Village, Sawai District, Mamberamo Raya Regency, focusing on how political education influences the social, economic, and political life of the local community. Using a qualitative approach, this study combines interview data and participant observation, demonstrating that political education significantly contributes to increasing political awareness and public participation. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for developing political education strategies in remote areas in Indonesia. Keywords: Political Education, Community Life, Sorabi Village.   Abtrak: Pendidikan politik merupakan aspek penting dalam membangun kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam proses demokrasi. Artikel ini mengkaji peranan pendidikan politik di Kampung Sorabi, Distrik Sawai, Kabupaten Mamberamo Raya, dengan fokus pada bagaimana pendidikan politik mempengaruhi kehidupan sosial, ekonomi, dan politik masyarakat setempat. Lewat pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggabungkan data wawancara serta observasi partisipatif, dan menunjukkan pendidikan politik berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kesadaran politik dan partisipasi masyarakat. Abstract

Abstract: This Classroom Action Research aims to enhance the critical thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP N 2 Abepura in Civic Education learning through the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative model. The intervention was conducted in two cycles employing Kurt Lewin's framework. The research subjects comprised 16 students. Data were collected through Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based written tests and structured observation sheets. Descriptive comparative analysis demonstrated gradual improvements in both students' cognitive performance and active participation. The class average score increased from 69.63 in Cycle I to 78.25 in Cycle II. The percentage of classical learning mastery advanced significantly from 68.75% (11 completed students) to 87.5% (14 completed students), thereby successfully surpassing the predetermined target indicator of 85%. Observation results also confirmed a shift from low-category dominance to high-category proficiency in the aspects of problem analysis, respecting divergent perspectives, and information retrieval. In conclusion, the implementation of the TPS cooperative model effectively improves students' critical reasoning. Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Critical Thinking, Think Pair Share.   Abstrak: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMP N 2 Abepura dalam pembelajaran PKn melalui model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Tindakan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus menggunakan model Kurt Lewin. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 16 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dan lembar observasi terstruktur. Analisis data deskriptif komparatif menunjukkan adanya peningkatan performa kognitif dan partisipasi aktif siswa secara bertahap. Nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat dari 69,63 pada Siklus I menjadi 78,25 pada Siklus II. Persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa melonjak nyata dari 68,75% (11 siswa tuntas) menjadi 87,5% (14 siswa tuntas), sehingga berhasil melampaui indikator keberhasilan tindakan yang ditetapkan sebesar 85%. Hasil observasi juga mengonfirmasi terjadinya reduksi dominasi siswa kategori rendah menjadi kategori tinggi pada aspek analisis, menghargai perbedaan pendapat, serta pencarian informasi. Simpulannya, implementasi model kooperatif tipe TPS secara efektif meningkatkan penalaran kritis siswa. Kata kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Think Pair Share

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the implementation of a reading literacy culture through Papuan folklore in the Reading Corner of SD YPPK St. Paulus Tup Soba, Obaa District, Mappi Regency, South Papua. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, students, parents, and school supervisor, supported by observation and document review. The findings show that Papuan folklore was utilized through the planning of contextual reading materials and the presentation of stories through independent reading, shared reading, storytelling, and competitions. The program encouraged students’ reading interest, as reflected in their enthusiasm for reading, ability to retell the content of stories, and participation in literacy activities both at school and at home. Supporting factors included the principal’s leadership, teacher creativity, parental support, and the cultural relevance of the reading materials. The main constraints were the limited availability of South Papuan folklore books and insufficient funding. These findings highlight the importance of local culture-based literacy for elementary schools in remote areas. Keywords: reading literacy, Papuan folklore, reading corner, elementary school, South Papua   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi budaya literasi membaca melalui cerita rakyat Papua pada Pojok Baca SD YPPK St. Paulus Tup Soba, Distrik Obaa, Kabupaten Mappi, Papua Selatan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, orang tua, dan pengawas sekolah, dilengkapi observasi dan telaah dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan cerita rakyat Papua dilakukan melalui perencanaan bahan bacaan kontekstual, penyajian cerita secara membaca mandiri, membaca bersama, mendongeng, dan lomba. Program ini mendorong peningkatan minat baca siswa yang tampak dari antusiasme membaca, kemampuan menceritakan kembali isi bacaan, dan keterlibatan dalam aktivitas literasi di sekolah maupun rumah. Faktor pendukung meliputi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, kreativitas guru, dukungan orang tua, dan kedekatan budaya materi bacaan. Kendala utama ialah terbatasnya buku cerita rakyat Papua Selatan dan pendanaan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya literasi berbasis budaya lokal bagi sekolah dasar di daerah terpencil. Abstract

Abstract: This article condenses a thesis-based study on the conceptual metaphors of the Indonesian word anak using a corpus-linguistic perspective. The data were obtained from the Leipzig Corpora Collection and analyzed through a descriptive qualitative design supported by semantic interpretation. The analysis applies conceptual metaphor theory to classify metaphorical uses into structural, ontological, and orientational metaphors. The findings show that ontological metaphors are the most dominant because anak is frequently conceptualized as an entity or identity marker, as in anak bangsa and anak buah. Structural metaphors occur when the child-domain organizes non-biological relations such as anak asuh, while orientational metaphors appear limitedly in bodily constructions. This article argues that anak functions as a productive cognitive and cultural schema in Indonesian, revealing how kinship vocabulary extends into wider social, educational, political, and institutional meanings. Keywords: anak; conceptual metaphor; corpus linguistics; cognitive semantics; Indonesian language   Abstrak: Penelitian ini meringkas kajian berbasis tesis tentang metafora konseptual kata anak dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan pendekatan linguistik korpus. Data bersumber dari Leipzig Corpora Collection dan dianalisis melalui desain deskriptif kualitatif yang didukung penafsiran semantik. Kerangka analisis menggunakan teori metafora konseptual untuk mengelompokkan temuan ke dalam metafora struktural, ontologis, dan orientasional. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa metafora ontologis paling dominan karena kata anak sering dikonseptualisasikan sebagai entitas atau penanda identitas, misalnya anak bangsa dan anak buah. Metafora struktural tampak pada hubungan non-biologis seperti anak asuh, sedangkan metafora orientasional muncul terbatas pada konstruksi tubuh. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa anak merupakan skema kognitif dan budaya yang produktif dalam bahasa Indonesia, serta menunjukkan bagaimana kosakata kekerabatan meluas ke dalam makna sosial, pendidikan, politik, dan kelembagaan yang lebih luas. Abstract

Abstract: This study synthesizes a thesis-based discussion of the traditional game Gici-Gici as a culturally responsive medium for developing gross motor skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. It responds to the decline of children’s active play, limited physical education facilities, and the need to integrate Papuan local wisdom into elementary learning. Using a qualitative literature review and theoretical synthesis, the study examines motor development, physical education, traditional games, ethno-pedagogy, character education, and school management. The synthesis shows that Gici-Gici integrates locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative movements, such as single-leg hopping, jumping, landing, balancing, bending, turning, and throwing a marker. These movements support balance, lower-limb strength, postural control, coordination, and movement confidence. The game also strengthens affective and social learning through rules, turn-taking, honesty, cooperation, responsibility, and sportsmanship. The study concludes that revitalizing Gici-Gici is both cultural preservation and an instructional strategy for motor development, character education, local curriculum innovation, and school resource optimization. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh menurunnya aktivitas bermain aktif anak, keterbatasan sarana pendidikan jasmani, dan kebutuhan mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal Papua ke dalam pembelajaran. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui telaah pustaka dan sintesis teoretis, penelitian ini menelaah perkembangan motorik, pendidikan jasmani, permainan tradisional, etnopedagogi, pendidikan karakter, dan manajemen sekolah. Hasil sintesis menunjukkan bahwa Gici-Gici memuat gerak lokomotor, nonlokomotor, dan manipulatif, seperti melompat satu kaki, meloncat, mendarat, menjaga keseimbangan, membungkuk, berputar, dan melempar gacu. Gerak tersebut mendukung keseimbangan, kekuatan tungkai bawah, kontrol postural, koordinasi, dan keberanian bergerak. Permainan ini juga menguatkan pembelajaran afektif dan sosial melalui aturan bermain, menunggu giliran, kejujuran, kerja sama, tanggung jawab, dan sportivitas. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa revitalisasi Gici-Gici merupakan pelestarian budaya sekaligus strategi instruksional untuk pengembangan motorik, pendidikan karakter, inovasi kurikulum lokal, dan optimalisasi sumber daya sekolah.. Abstract

Abstract: This article condenses a thesis-based research and development study on culturally responsive interactive learning media for elementary science learning in Nabire Regency, Papua. The study was motivated by students' difficulties in understanding abstract Solar System concepts, the dominance of conventional instruction, limited contextual media, and the need to connect science learning with local cultural experience. The product was developed using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The media, created with Articulate Storyline 360, integrates Papuan local wisdom, visual narratives, simulations, interactive quizzes, and Culturally Responsive Teaching principles. Expert validation showed that the product was highly feasible in terms of content, media, and language, with mean scores of 4.75, 4.80, and 4.65, respectively. Field testing indicated that the media was practical for students and teachers, with mean scores of 4.50 and 4.40. The effectiveness test demonstrated a substantial increase in students' conceptual understanding, from a pre-test mean of 45.25 to a post-test mean of 85.75, with an N-Gain of 0.74 in the high category and a significant difference at p < 0.001. Qualitative findings also showed stronger engagement, cultural pride, and more active participation. The article argues that culturally responsive digital media can become a bridge between scientific abstraction and local meaning in elementary education. Keywords: Culturally Responsive Teaching; interactive learning media; Articulate Storyline 360; local wisdom; Solar System; elementary science   Abstrak: Artikel ini meringkas penelitian pengembangan berbasis tesis tentang media pembelajaran interaktif yang responsif budaya pada pembelajaran IPA sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Nabire, Papua. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan peserta didik memahami konsep Tata Surya yang abstrak, dominasi pembelajaran konvensional, keterbatasan media kontekstual, serta kebutuhan menghubungkan pembelajaran sains dengan pengalaman budaya lokal. Produk dikembangkan melalui model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Media yang dibuat dengan Articulate Storyline 360 mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal Papua, narasi visual, simulasi, kuis interaktif, dan prinsip Culturally Responsive Teaching. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan media sangat layak dari aspek materi, media, dan bahasa dengan skor rata-rata berturut-turut 4,75, 4,80, dan 4,65. Uji coba lapangan menunjukkan media praktis digunakan oleh peserta didik dan guru dengan skor rata-rata 4,50 dan 4,40. Efektivitas media tampak dari peningkatan pemahaman konsep dari rata-rata pre-test 45,25 menjadi post-test 85,75, nilai N-Gain 0,74 pada kategori tinggi, serta perbedaan signifikan pada p < 0,001. Temuan kualitatif menunjukkan meningkatnya keterlibatan, kebanggaan budaya, dan partisipasi aktif peserta didik. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa media digital responsif budaya dapat menjadi jembatan antara konsep ilmiah yang abstrak dan makna lokal dalam pendidikan dasar. Abstract

Abstract: This article transforms a thesis-based draft into a journal article on the use of Rumah Kaki Seribu as an ethnomathematics medium for contextual mathematics learning in grade IV elementary school. The study is grounded in the problem that plane-geometry concepts are often taught abstractly, while learners in Papua Barat live close to cultural artifacts that contain geometric patterns, structures, and spatial relations. Using a qualitative conceptual approach, the article reviews relevant literature, analyzes the mathematical potential of the Arfak traditional house, and reconstructs a contextual learning design based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The analysis shows that the roof, wall, floor pattern, stairs, and supporting poles of Rumah Kaki Seribu can be linked with plane shapes, measurement, symmetry, pattern, and early spatial reasoning. The CTL framework enables teachers to guide students from observation of local objects to mathematical abstraction through questioning, inquiry, modeling, learning community, reflection, and authentic assessment. The article argues that culturally rooted media can strengthen conceptual understanding, numeracy literacy, learning motivation, and students' appreciation of local identity. This paper recommends that elementary teachers in Papua Barat integrate Rumah Kaki Seribu into classroom activities, local projects, and concrete-to-abstract learning sequences while maintaining accuracy of mathematical concepts and respect for cultural meaning. Kajian ini bertolak dari persoalan bahwa konsep bangun datar masih sering diajarkan secara abstrak, padahal peserta didik di Papua Barat hidup dekat dengan artefak budaya yang memuat pola geometris, struktur ruang, dan relasi bentuk. Dengan pendekatan konseptual kualitatif, artikel ini menelaah literatur yang relevan, menganalisis potensi matematis rumah tradisional masyarakat Arfak, dan menyusun ulang desain pembelajaran berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa bagian atap, dinding, lantai, tangga, dan tiang penyangga Rumah Kaki Seribu dapat dikaitkan dengan bentuk bangun datar, pengukuran, simetri, pola, dan penalaran spasial awal. Kerangka CTL membantu guru membimbing peserta didik dari pengamatan objek budaya menuju abstraksi matematika melalui kegiatan bertanya, menemukan, pemodelan, masyarakat belajar, refleksi, dan penilaian autentik. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa media berbasis budaya lokal berpotensi memperkuat pemahaman konsep, literasi numerasi, motivasi belajar, dan apresiasi peserta didik terhadap identitas budaya daerah. Rekomendasi utama artikel ini adalah guru sekolah dasar di Papua Barat dapat mengintegrasikan Rumah Kaki Seribu dalam aktivitas kelas, proyek lokal, dan tahapan belajar konkret menuju abstrak dengan tetap menjaga ketepatan konsep matematika serta penghormatan terhadap makna budaya..
