Abstract

Mobile Banking or commonly known as m-banking is treated as one of the most important banking information system services capable of producing financial information, which includes balance checks, fund transfers, credit card bill information, bill payments, and so on through a capable tool. Wireless internet. It is important for customers to have facilities in obtaining financial information and making transactions online, without having to visit the bank where they are customers. When customers feel satisfied by two things, namely the speed in obtaining financial information as well as the accuracy and ease in carrying out mobile banking transaction activities, the purpose of m-banking services as a value-added banking information system will be achieved. Conversely, if customers do not feel satisfied in terms of the privacy security of the mobile banking application, it can lead to negative perceptions of customers about the services that are available, so that it can be said to be one of the risks of using mobile banking services. Therefore, it is important to maintain and improve the confidentiality of customers through the privacy of the mobile banking application so that customers can remain calm in using the service.

Abstract

Currently, fiat money, interest rate, and fractional reserve banking system have been employed as main instruments in the monetary system all over the world. However, some scholars believe that these three tools are the roots of vulnerability in the economy system as a whole, resulting so many crises occurred over and over again and huge imbalance between monetary and real sector for last centuries. On the other side, Islamic monetary system offers more just and fair instruments, namely real money, profit and loss sharing, and full reserve banking system because those can bridge the monetary and real sector perfectly.  This paper hence attempts to see the effects of Islamic monetary instruments and its conventional counterpart towards real sector growth by taking case study of Indonesia from January 2004 to December 2010. Industrial Production Index (IPI) is utilized as the proxy of real sector growth. Exchange rate (ER), working capital interest rate (R_WK), and quasi money (QM) are used to represent the conventional monetary instruments. Contrary, gold price index (GOLD), mudharabah investment deposits rate (R_MID), and base money (M0) are the representation of Islamic monetary instruments. This finding shows that Islamic monetary instrument is more stable than conventional monetary instrument in responding the shock of exogenous variables.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the debtors’ behavior of sharia banks. The analysis is based on literature review from various studies related to the case study of sharia banks debtors’ behavior in Indonesia. The result shows that there are four main aspects of banking behavior, e.g., asymmetric information, character of customer, content of the contract, and monitoring. The customers have high awareness to pay their debt to the bank, unfortunately they need continuous supports from the banks such as intensive monitoring and supervision. Beside these two kinds of support, the banks also need to socialize and warn customers to read the contract carefully. Understanding the contract ('Aqd) is the most important aspect to ensure the financing is repaid well by the customers.

Abstract

The innovation of Islamic banking products requires the use of multi-contracts which transform the tabarru' contract which incidentally is a non-commercial contract into a mu'awadhat contract whose purpose is for commercial activities. So that it raises a debate about the legal status of the profits generated from the contract and how it is applied in product development in Islamic banking. These contracts are the wakalah bi al-ujrah contract and the hiwalah bi al-ujrah contract. This study uses a descriptive literature method that uses a normative juridical approach with data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This type of research is qualitative research. The results of this study reveal the fact that the application of the wakalah bi al-ujrah contract and the hiwalah bi al-ujrah contract in product development in Islamic banks is contained in the mechanism for implementing the functions of Islamic banks in providing services. As for the services provided, the nature of the legal norms is the same as the service ijarah contract which is included in the category of core contract (mu'awadhat) of Islamic banks for profit.
