Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of social interaction between children with special needs (ABK) and non-ABK children at SD Negeri 098166 Perumnas Pematangsiantar, and to identify the forms of social interaction and the inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects consisted of 2 ABK children, 4 non-ABK children, and 2 class teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Moleong model which includes data reduction, categorization, and data interpretation. Data validity was tested through source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that social interaction between ABK and non-ABK has begun to form, but has not occurred consistently. Interactions occur more frequently during learning activities, group work, and teacher direction. The forms of social interaction found include associative interactions in the form of cooperation, mutual assistance, and social acceptance, as well as dissociative interactions in the form of passive attitudes, tendencies to be alone, and limited communication of ABK. Factors inhibiting social interaction include limited communication and low self-confidence among children with special needs, lack of understanding among children without special needs, differences in ability between students, and teacher dominance in facilitating social interaction in the classroom. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that social interaction between children with special needs and those without special needs still requires support through inclusive learning, strengthening communication skills, and the active role of teachers as social facilitators to create better and more sustainable interactions.

Abstract

The automotive industry requires lightweight, durable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly materials to improve vehicle performance and sustainability. This study investigates the effect of coconut coir fiber volume fraction and fiber orientation on the impact and flexural strength of polyester matrix composites intended for automotive bumper applications. Composite specimens were fabricated using the hand lay-up method with three fiber orientations: random, unidirectional, and laminated. Impact and flexural tests were conducted according to ASTM standards, and the experimental data were analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA. The results revealed that fiber volume fraction significantly affected impact strength (p = 0.043 < 0.05), indicating that higher fiber content improved the composite's ability to absorb impact energy. In contrast, fiber orientation and the interaction between fiber volume fraction and fiber orientation showed no significant effect on impact strength. Furthermore, neither fiber volume fraction, fiber orientation, nor their interaction significantly influenced flexural strength (p > 0.05). These findings demonstrate that fiber volume fraction is the dominant factor affecting the impact performance of coconut coir fiber-reinforced polyester composites. Therefore, the developed composite shows promising potential as a sustainable alternative material for automotive bumper applications.

Abstract

This research analyzes the power relations and politeness strategies used by the main character, Elle Woods, in Legally Blonde (2001) from a sociolinguistic perspective. The objectives of this study are to identify the types of politeness strategies used by Elle Woods and to examine how power relations influence her language choices in interaction. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from the dialogues spoken by Elle Woods in the movie Legally Blonde (2001) and its script. The data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using the politeness theory proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987). The findings show that all four politeness strategies were used by the main character, namely bald on record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off-record strategy. Among them, positive politeness appeared most frequently because Elle often used friendly, supportive, and cooperative expressions in her interactions. The findings also reveal that power relations significantly influenced the choice of politeness strategies. Positive politeness was mostly used in equal power relations, while negative politeness appeared more frequently in interactions involving higher authority figures. Bald on record strategy was commonly used in situations requiring directness and confidence. The study concludes that politeness strategies reflect social relationships, power dynamics, and communicative goals within interaction. Therefore, the movie provides valuable insight into the relationship between language, politeness, and power in sociolinguistic studies.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of leaf extract (Ipomoea pes-caprae) as a plant pesticide in controlling (Spodoptera frugiperda), focusing on the effect of concentration and method of application on mortality, and feeding activity. This study was conducted to fill the limitations of previous studies that highlighted more pharmacological aspects (Ipomoea pes-caprae) and have not studied its potential as an insecticide against agricultural pests. The method used was a laboratory experiment with a factorial Complete Random Design (RAL), consisting of four concentration levels (0, 1000, 3000, and 5000 mg/L) and three application methods (feed dip, larval spray, and combination), with three replicas. The results showed that larval mortality was influenced by the interaction between concentration and application method, where at small and moderate concentrations the oral method was more effective, while at high concentrations the contact method was more dominant. In addition, the extract is able to significantly suppress eating activities. These findings confirm that the effectiveness of plant-based pesticides is contextual and depends on the entry pathways of the active compounds.

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of the digital economy between 2020 and 2025 has forced traditional sectors to undergo radical transformations, yet empirical evidence regarding workforce adaptation in the extractive industries remains scarce. This study investigates the impact of Human Resource (HR) practice innovation on enhancing workforce agility within Indonesia's natural resource economy sector. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis of simulated data from 450 professionals in the mining, energy, and plantation industries, this research evaluates how digitally based HR interventions—such as AI-driven recruitment, VR-based safety training, and real-time performance analytics—influence employee adaptability and resilience. The results reveal that HR practice innovation significantly predicts workforce agility (β = 0.542, p < 0.001), explaining 48.9% of its variance. Notably, technology-driven training emerged as the most potent catalyst for agility, particularly in mitigating operational risks in remote locations. The findings suggest that for Indonesian natural resource firms, digitalizing human capital management is not merely an administrative upgrade but a strategic imperative to achieve organizational resilience amidst global commodity volatility and the green energy transition. This study contributes to the Resource-Based View (RBV) by demonstrating that agile human capital, fostered through innovative HR practices, serves as a unique competitive advantage in the Industry 4.0 era. Practical recommendations for HR managers and policymakers focus on bridging the digital skills gap to ensure long-term sectoral sustainability.

Abstract

Indonesia has been at a really important turning point over the past ten years: the very precise, effective world of technology is colliding with what people are capable of. This research examines how new technologies in Human Resource Development (HRD) have altered how the country’s economy operates between 2014 and 2024. It uses a research approach that mixes number-based analysis with real people’s stories, and, in particular, it looks at data collected over time by Indonesia’s BPS and the World Bank, alongside detailed interviews with leaders across different industries. What’s been discovered is that the use of HR tech increased by 126.2%, and, with that, it didn't simply make workers 4.9% more productive; it also opened up learning to far more people – in fact, training now costs 48% less. But the research also reveals a strange problem, a ‘digital paradox’, as areas of the country are still being left out, and it’s a crucial reminder that a growing economy means very little if it doesn't include everyone. From a scholarly point of view, the research proves that technology increases how much is produced; and looking at it from a human perspective, it’s saying that achieving Indonesia’s ambitious ‘Golden 2045’ future rests not with the technology we create, but with the skills and possibilities we give to the people within it.
