Abstract

The rapid development of information technology and internet-based services has driven digital transformation in the culinary industry to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. One of the challenges faced by Kopi Tuku is the occurrence of long queues during peak hours due to conventional ordering processes that require customers to view printed menus and place orders directly at the cashier. This study aims to design an interactive QR Code-based E-Menu Information System that can streamline the ordering and payment process while enhancing service efficiency. The research employed the Prototyping Development Model, involving problem identification, data collection, requirements analysis, object-oriented system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), and user interface prototyping using Figma. The results of the study produced a comprehensive system design consisting of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, and interactive user interface prototypes. The proposed system enables customers to access digital menus, place orders, monitor order status, and complete digital payments through their smartphones by scanning QR Codes. The designed system also facilitates transaction verification and order processing by cashiers and baristas in an integrated environment. In conclusion, the QR Code-based interactive E-Menu Information System has the potential to improve service efficiency, reduce customer waiting times, increase order accuracy, and provide a more practical and modern customer experience at Kopi Tuku.

Abstract

The development of social media platforms, especially Instagram, has become a strategic place for the beauty industry to promote products and establish new beauty standards. This study aims to examine the image of beauty in Somethinc advertisements on Instagram using Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis approach and Stuart Hall's representation. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with three stages of analysis, namely text analysis, discursive practice, and social practice. Data were obtained through documentation of Somethinc advertisement screenshots and analyzed narratively. The results of the study show that the Calm Down Skinpair R-Cover Cream advertisement emphasizes the emotional aspect with the slogan "NEVER SETTLE for LESS!", while the Skinlift Serum advertisement emphasizes scientific claims such as "Flaw fine lines & wrinkles" and dermatological certification. Both advertisements reinforce the ideal image of beauty that includes healthy, bright, and flawless skin, and connect product use with identity and confidence. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that Somethinc advertisements not only function as promotional tools, but also as a medium for shaping beauty ideologies among teenagers and young women..

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin disease that remains a public health problem, especially in areas with high population density and poor sanitation. This study aims to determine the demographic characteristics, clinical presentation, risk factors, and adhesive tape test results in scabies patients at the Olak Kemang Community Health Center and the Putri Ayu Community Health Center in Jambi City. The study used a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all scabies patients treated at both community health centers during the study period, while a sample of 43 respondents was determined using the Lemeshow formula with a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included a questionnaire on demographic characteristics and risk factors, a clinical observation sheet, and an adhesive tape test. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis in the form of frequency distributions and percentages. The results showed that most patients were school-aged children, females, had no education up to elementary school or equivalent, and were unemployed. Lesions were most commonly found on the upper and lower extremities, with papules as the dominant lesion. Most respondents had poor personal hygiene, unhealthy basic sanitation, and low socioeconomic status, while positive adhesive tape test results were found in 7.0% of respondents. This study concluded that the characteristics of scabies patients at the study site were dominated by behavioral and environmental factors, while the adhesive tape test only identified a small proportion of cases, making it more appropriate to use as a supporting examination for clinical diagnosis.

Abstract

Nature-based coastal protection is increasingly being developed as an alternative to conventional infrastructure, with seagrass meadows playing a crucial role in wave attenuation and sediment stabilization. However, the characterization of seagrass biophysical parameters used in hydrodynamic modeling remains unstandardized. This study aims to synthesize seagrass biophysical characterization methods and their application in wave attenuation modeling to support nature-based coastal protection. The study used a Systematic Literature Review guided by PRISMA. The study population included all relevant scientific publications, while the sample consisted of 30 articles that met the inclusion criteria. The research instrument was a structured data extraction protocol that included study characteristics, biophysical parameters, modeling approaches, and hydrodynamic indicators. These were then analyzed descriptively and comparatively through narrative synthesis. The results showed that stand density, canopy height, leaf dimension and stiffness, and biomass were the main parameters most consistently used to represent wave attenuation, although there were still variations in measurement methods and parameterizations between studies. In conclusion, harmonization of biophysical characterization protocols and the development of multiscale parameterizations are needed to improve modeling accuracy and the implementation of seagrass-based coastal protection solutions.

Abstract

The use of cutting tools in the CNC milling process is often not optimal because wear only occurs on the bottom of the cutting edge, while most of the cutting edge is still usable. This condition increases tool consumption, production downtime, and operational costs. This study aims to optimize the service life of cutting tools through the application of Kaizen by redesigning the height of the milling jig. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the Kaizen method through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. The study population was the entire process of making tensile test specimens using a CNC milling machine at the Material Testing Laboratory of Pelita Bangsa University, while the sample was selected by purposive sampling in processes that experience wasteful use of cutting tools. The research instruments included observation sheets, documentation, jig dimension measuring tools, and tool usage records. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by comparing conditions before and after the implementation of Kaizen. The results showed that the redesign of the milling jig was able to shift the cutting area to the part of the cutting edge that was still sharp so that the service life of the cutting tool increased by about 50 percent and the consumption of new tools decreased by 50 percent without reducing the quality of the machining results. This study concludes that the application of Kaizen through simple modifications to the milling jig is an effective and low-cost solution to increase the efficiency of cutting tool use and support continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.

Abstract

The Toguraci Underground Mine of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (PT NHM) experienced a temporary production shutdown, resulting in the ventilation system operating below its original design conditions; Primary Fan T01 was operated at 60% of its maximum capacity (600 RPM out of 990 RPM). As mining operations resume under normal conditions, an evaluation of primary fan performance is required to ensure the ventilation system can meet operational airflow requirements. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of primary fan performance against underground airflow requirements and to determine the optimum primary fan operating configuration under normal conditions. A quantitative approach was employed through field measurements of pressure, airflow quantity, temperature, humidity, and air velocity, followed by analysis using fan affinity laws, factory performance curves, airflow requirement calculations, and configuration simulations. The results indicate that the actual airflow delivered by Primary Fan T01 was lower than the manufacturer's design performance, with a deviation of 27.89 m3/s. Under contingency conditions, the primary fan was still capable of supplying sufficient airflow; however, under normal operating conditions the actual airflow was insufficient, requiring a configuration adjustment. The optimum configuration was achieved by increasing the rotational speed of Primary Fan T01 to 900 RPM and operating two motors on Primary Fan T03, meeting the required airflow of 207.43 m3/s with a power demand of 640.74 kW.

Abstract

This paper examines the human resource management (HRM) strategies employed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia 1 (Persero) to enhance employee performance. Using qualitative descriptive analysis and the SWOT framework, the study evaluates key HR practices in recruitment, placement, development, and performance evaluation. Findings reveal significant strengths, such as a skilled workforce, advanced performance management systems, and educational rewards, which enable the organization to capitalize on opportunities like market expansion and technological innovations. However, challenges persist, including inconsistent recruitment policies, limited interdepartmental collaboration, and economic fluctuations. Strategic insights highlight the importance of leveraging internal strengths and external opportunities to mitigate threats and address weaknesses. The study concludes that PT Pelabuhan Indonesia 1 (Persero)’s HRM initiatives align with its growth-oriented objectives, providing a robust foundation for sustained success in a competitive industry. Recommendations include fostering teamwork, refining recruitment processes, and investing in technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of affect-inspired mechanisms in agent-based systems to enhance decision making and strategic communication in complex environments. The research aims to evaluate whether agents equipped with emotional appraisal architectures outperform standard rational agents in uncertain, dynamic scenarios. A mixed-method approach was employed, incorporating both simulation-based experiments and quantitative performance analysis. Agents were assigned specific roles principal, goal-lover, and resource lover within an asymmetric decision-making task to observe the influence of affect on strategic adaptation and inter-agent coordination. Results demonstrate that agents with affective capabilities achieved higher average scores, improved role-based consistency, and exhibited context-sensitive prioritization strategies. The data reveal that affect equipped agents can facilitate more cooperative and adaptive behaviors, particularly in scenarios requiring rapid goal reassessment and relational dynamics. These findings support the design of emotionally-aware artificial intelligence systems that are more aligned with human-like reasoning and capable of functioning effectively in complex, high stakes environments

Abstract

Chocolate bread MSMEs as part of the food sector have great potential in supporting the community's economy, but there are still many who face obstacles in terms of packaging and product labeling. MSMEs in this activity still market their products without unit packaging and without labels, so that the products lack identity and attractiveness in the eyes of consumers. This Community Service activity aims to increase the attractiveness and selling value of chocolate bread products through the design and implementation of packaging design and ethical labels that are simple, informative, and in accordance with the principles of business ethics. The methods used include observation of initial conditions, design of packaging sticker designs, sticker printing, and application of stickers on bread wrapping plastic. The results of the activity show that bread products that were previously sold without packaging and labels now have a more attractive and professional visual identity. The application of ethical packaging and labels has a positive impact on increasing interest in buying and selling products. Thus, packaging and labels not only function as protectors, but also as information and promotional media that are able to increase the competitiveness of chocolate bread MSMEs

Abstract

Abstract: Digital transformation in the public health laboratory sector requires the optimal utilization of calibration data to support more effective and objective decision-making processes. The Public Health Laboratory (LABKESMAS) still experiences limitations in managing water pH meter calibration data, where the feasibility assessment of laboratory equipment is generally conducted manually using Microsoft Excel calculations. This process is prone to human error, data inconsistency, and inefficient evaluation procedures. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and implement the Decision Tree algorithm in a web-based E-Prediction system to determine the feasibility of water pH meter calibration equipment based on historical and real-time calibration data. The research methodology applied in this study uses a quantitative approach with data mining techniques through the Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) stages, including data collection, data preprocessing, Decision Tree implementation, and interpretation of classification results. The dataset used consists of historical calibration records and newly input calibration data of water pH meters measured using standard buffer parameters pH 4, pH 7, and pH 10. The preprocessing stage includes data cleaning, validation, and deviation calculation between measured values and standard values. The classification process utilizes predefined deviation threshold rules embedded within the Decision Tree structure. The findings indicate that the Decision Tree algorithm effectively classifies equipment feasibility into three categories: feasible, requiring recalibration, and unfeasible. Equipment with deviation values less than or equal to 0.02 pH is categorized as feasible, deviations between 0.02 pH and 0.05 pH are classified as requiring recalibration, and deviations greater than or equal to 0.05 pH are categorized as unfeasible. The developed web-based E-Prediction system achieved 100% classification accuracy according to the implemented logical rules. In addition, the system improves operational efficiency, minimizes manual calculation errors, accelerates the decision-making process, and provides automatic PDF-based report generation. Consequently, the implementation of the Decision Tree algorithm has proven effective in supporting transparent, consistent, and data-driven laboratory equipment feasibility evaluation processes at the Public Health Laboratory.
