Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam menggunakan insektisida nabati berbasis teknologi nano sebagai solusi alternatif dalam pengendalian hama yang ramah lingkungan. Sasaran kegiatan adalah Kelompok Tani Kubu Dalam, Parak Karakah, Kota Padang yang selama ini bergantung pada insektisida kimia sintetis. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan partisipatif, demonstrasi formulasi insektisida nabati, dan praktik langsung aplikasi di lahan. Materi difokuskan pada manfaat insektisida nabati, mekanisme kerja teknologi nanobubbles, serta tata cara pembuatan dan penerapan di lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman petani mengenai bahaya insektisida kimia dan potensi penggunaan insektisida nabati. Sebagian besar peserta menunjukkan antusiasme untuk menerapkan teknologi ini secara mandiri di lahan mereka. Kesimpulannya, edukasi mengenai insektisida nabati berteknologi nanobubbles mampu memberikan pemahaman baru dan mendorong perubahan sikap petani menuju praktik pertanian yang lebih berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Pengolahan sampah secara mandiri masih menjadi permasalahan di Desa Nglebak. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pemilahan dan pengolahan sampah menyebabkan sampah rumah tangga seringkali menumpuk tanpa pengelolaan yang baik. Selain itu, keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung, seperti tempat pembuangan sementara dan alat pengolahan sampah, semakin memperburuk kondisi ini. Penanganan sampah melalui pengumpulan dan pengangkutan setiap beberapa hari masih belum bisa mengatasi permasalahan penumpukan dikarenakan sampah domestik yang terus diproduksi setiap harinya. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah melalui pengelolaan sampah organik secara mandiri sehingga penumpukan sampah dapat berkurang dari sumbernya. Melalui program pengabdian masyarakat, Tim  Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) mengajak masyarakat Desa Nglebak untuk mengenali teknologi biopori, media pengolahan sampah organik secara mandiri dari rumah sehingga dapat mengurangi tumpukan sampah dan meningkatkan kesuburan tanah dari hasil pembusukan organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi pentingnya pengolahan sampah kepada masyarakat melalui Kader PKK Desa Nglebak. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu pemberian kuesioner pre-test, penyampaian materi sosialisasi, demonstrasi pembuatan biopori, serta evaluasi melalui kuesioner post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai pengolahan sampah organik dan penerapan biopori, dengan skor pemahaman yang meningkat sebesar 61,45% setelah sosialisasi. Diharapkan, kegiatan ini dapat memotivasi warga untuk mengelola sampah secara mandiri dan mendukung upaya pengelolaan sampah yang lebih berkelanjutan di Desa Nglebak.

Abstract

Kegiatan penyuluhan kesehatan dan medical check-up di Nagari Koto Beringin, Kecamatan Tiumang, Kabupaten Dharmasraya, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dan melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan secara rutin. Sebagian besar masyarakat di Nagari Koto Beringin berprofesi sebagai petani perkebunan kelapa sawit. Sebagian besar masyarakat kurang memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan. Melalui kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Andalas (Unand) mahasiswa melakukan kolaborasi dengan  Puskesmas Tiumang untuk menghimbau dan melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan secara gratis. Kegiatan ini melibatkan lebih dari 60 peserta dari berbagai kelompok usia. Kegiatan diawali dengan senam bersama, dilanjutkan dengan penyuluhan mengenai pencegahan penyakit tidak menular seperti hipertensi, diabetes melitus, dan tuberkulosis paru. Puncak acara berupa medical check-up yang menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta memiliki resiko hipertensi dan kadar gula darah tinggi. Kegiatan ini telah meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dan diharapkan masyarakat melaksanakan pemeriksaan rutin terkait kondisi kesehatan mereka. Untuk kedepannya, disarankan agar cakupan kegiatan ini diperluas dengan meningkatkan sosialisasi melalui media sosial dan kegiatan ini terus berlanjut.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented in Koto Malintang, West Sumatra, to empower farmer groups through the development of an Aren sugar (Arenga pinnata) production center. The activities consisted of pre-surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), socialization workshops, participatory planning, and initial demonstrations of intercropping practices. A key component of the program was the financial feasibility analysis, designed to provide farmers and stakeholders with evidence-based tools for decision-making. The analysis was conducted using production costs and revenues from the research location, with a 15-year horizon and a 10% discount rate. Two cultivation scenarios were evaluated: (1) Aren intercropped with seasonal crops and (2) Aren intercropped with robusta coffee. Each scenario considered two product alternatives: molded sugar (gula cetak) and palm sugar crystals (gula semut). The results revealed that molded sugar offered only marginal feasibility, with Net Present Values (NPV) of Rp 28–35 million/ha, Internal Rates of Return (IRR) of 12–15%, Benefit-Cost (B/C) ratios around 1.1, and payback periods of 7–8 years. In contrast, palm sugar crystals showed strong financial viability, with NPVs of Rp 298–330 million/ha, IRRs of 38–45%, B/C ratios of 2.4–2.6, and payback periods of only 4–5 years. Sensitivity analysis confirmed robustness across discount rates of 8–12% and price variations between Rp 40,000–60,000/kg. These findings suggest that palm sugar crystals should be prioritized as the flagship product for Koto Malintang’s Aren sugar industry, supported by institutional strengthening, diversification, and modern marketing to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nawasena merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat di Desa Karangpring, Kecamatan Sukorambi, Kabupaten Jember, yang telah aktif mengembangkan berbagai produk olahan mawar. Namun, strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendorong transformasi strategi pemasaran produk olahan mawar KWT Nawasena. Metode kegiatan meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan, dan penyediaan bantuan berupa sarana promosi pemasaran langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kapasitas anggota KWT Nawasena dalam hal pemasaran digital dan penguatan pemasaran langsung. Hal tersebut terbukti dari tersusunnya draf konten media promosi digital produk olahan mawar. Selain itu, bantuan berupa sarana promosi seperti portable booth, roll up banner, brosur, dan katalog dapat memperkuat strategi pemasaran langsung secara offline yang umumnya dilakukan melalui partisipasi pada bazar UMKM daerah. Perbandingan strategi pemasaran sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan adanya pergeseran yang signifikan dari sistem penjualan konvensional menuju strategi pemasaran hybrid yang mengintegrasikan pemasaran digital dan penguatan pemasaran langsung secara offline. Transformasi ini tidak hanya berpotensi memperluas jangkauan pasar dan memperkuat identitas produk, tetapi juga mendukung pengembangan kawasan kampung mawar Desa Karangpring sebagai salah satu destinasi agroeduwisata yang dapat berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat lokal.

Abstract

The principles of Transparency and Accountability are the main pillars of Good Governance which are vital for the success of Regional Autonomy, but their implementation is often hampered by deviant practices. The UNBARA Student Executive Board (BEM) positions itself as a Civil Society actor supported by idealism, moral values and a legal basis (UU KIP), tasked with carrying out social control over regional government. This research aims to analyze the implementation of BEM UNBARA's role in guarding Transparency and Accountability, especially in responding to crucial issues such as the follow-up to the KPK Hand Capture Operation (OTT) in the area, as well as identifying challenges and their sustainability strategies. This qualitative research using a case study approach was carried out in OKU Regency with a focus on BEM UNBARA. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with BEM administrators, and secondary data from study documents, local media, and regional policy documents (APBD, RPJMD). Data analysis uses an interactive model (reduction, presentation and conclusion) which is supported by data triangulation. BEM UNBARA implements its role in layers: (1) Real Action and Social Control: The most significant is the post-OTT KPK demonstration, which aims to urge transparency of the legal process and demand accountability of regional officials. (2) Layered Advocacy Strategy: Expressing aspirations is carried out starting from official hearings and written recommendations, to using demonstrations as the final step to pressure the government's response. (3) Challenges and Sustainability: The main challenges are limited access to official data and political stigma, which BEM overcomes through strengthening collaboration with CSOs/local media and internal institutionalization (cadre formation and regulation) to ensure the sustainability of supervision in the future. Abstract

Yellow disease in eggplant caused by a virus transmitted by Bemisia tabaci has become a serious threat to the sustainability of horticultural production in Padang City. The high dependence of farmers on chemical pesticides has the potential to induce pest resistance, environmental pollution, and health risks. This activity was conducted to enhance farmers’ capacity to recognize and control insect vectors of yellow disease through the application of eco-enzymes derived from fermented local plant organic waste as an environmentally friendly alternative control strategy. The methods applied included training, field demonstrations, mentoring, and the application of eco-enzymes in treatment plots, while chemical pesticides were applied in control plots. The results indicated that farmers’ knowledge increased by 80%. However, the incidence of yellow disease in the eco-enzyme treatment was 10% higher than that in the control, with disease severity being 3.11% higher. A production difference of 1.53 kg was observed, although plants treated with eco-enzymes exhibited better overall plant health, whereas 5% plant mortality was found in the control plots. It was concluded that eco-enzymes have not yet been effective as a single technology for controlling yellow disease in eggplant under field conditions. Therefore, the implementation of integrated pest management is required through the integration of natural enemies, the conservation of refugia plants, and the control of other pests such as shoot borer.

Abstract

Vegetable farming in Kayu Aro Barat District is generally on sloping land with Andisol soil which is sensitive to erosion and high P retention by amorphous minerals and Al-humus. However, farmers plant potatoes as the main commodity with ridges along the slope, excessive chemical fertilizers, especially P, and without adequate organic fertilizers with relatively low productivity. Community service activities in partnership with the G7 Farmers Group and the Arimbi Women's Farmers Group in Kebun Baru Village introduced "Conservation Agrotechnology (CA)" in the form of crop ridges cutting the slope, 1 ton of Dolomite, 10 tons of chicken manure and 300-350 kg of SP-36 per hectare. The activity began with a discussion of problems and solutions. The application of AK with the Demonstration Plot Method, namely planting 225 kg of quality potato seeds on +1000 m2/demonstration plot, directly by farmers on the land of each group. Both farmer groups played an active and very enthusiastic role in every stage until harvest. The harvest exceeded farmers' expectations, with potato yields very satisfactory (2,655 kg and 2,474 kg in each demonstration plot, averaging 25.65 tons/ha) and excellent quality. Farmers were very satisfied and motivated to implement and develop the AK, which is expected to foster a "conservation-based vegetable farming" in Kebun Baru Village in particular, and Kayu Aro Barat District in general.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted on October 27, 2025, at SMA Negeri 15 Padang, with the aim of enhancing the competencies of teachers and students in biotechnology through the integration of modern technology as part of the digital transformation of education. The methods employed included direct training and mentoring, supported by a guidebook entitled “Basic Biology and Biotechnology: From Microscope to DNA.” The activity was organized into several thematic groups, namely plant and animal tissue histology, animal anatomy, plant culture, and DNA isolation. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ abilities to operate basic biotechnology tools, understand applied biotechnology concepts, and develop innovative practicum activities aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition, this activity strengthened collaboration among schools, universities, and media in disseminating science learning innovations. In conclusion, the implementation of technology-based biology practicum is effective in improving participants’ competencies and scientific literacy and has strong potential for sustainable development through continued mentoring and the development of digital modules.

Abstract

Low cocoa productivity in Dharmasraya Regency, reaching only 549.94 kg/ha , is closely related to limited farmer knowledge regarding standard canopy management. This community service activity aims to optimize canopy architecture and improve the garden's microclimate through pruning technology transfer for farmers in Nagari Sitiung. The activity was implemented using module-assisted counseling and field training by creating demonstration plots (demplot) for Immature Plants and Mature Plants. The results showed an increase in the technical understanding and skills of the partner farmer groups regarding four main types of pruning: shape, maintenance, production, and restoration pruning. Through proper canopy management, the Leaf Area Index (LAI) value can be optimized and garden humidity can be controlled to reduce the risk of pest and disease attacks. It can be concluded that this technology transfer has succeeded in improving farmers' competence in managing cocoa plant canopy architecture as an effort to increase productivity sustainably. As a follow-up, it is recommended to provide continuous assistance regarding side-grafting techniques to rehabilitate unproductive plants.
