Abstract

Seagrass beds provide habitat for the abundance and diversity of megagastropods that form the food chain in supporting the productivity of coastal waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and abundance of megagastropoda in the seagrass beds of Tihi-Tihi Village. This study was conducted in October 2024 - February 2025 using a purposive sampling method. Megagastropoda sampling using Van Veen Grab and seagrass stands using 50x50cm square frames. Data analysis included abundance, community structure index and morphometrics of individual megagastropoda, and seagrass stand density and Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results of the study found 18 species of megagastropoda. Diversity in moderate criteria, moderate population uniformity and dominance in moderate criteria with an abundance of individuals reaching 567 individuals/m2. The seagrass found 4 species of seagrass, namely E. acoroides, T. hemprichii, C. rotundata, and H. ovalis. There is a positive and very close correlation between the abundance of megagastropoda and the characteristics of seagrass density.

Abstract

Social media marketing strategies have become a solution to enhance business competitiveness, particularly for entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector. However, intense competition and low brand awareness of new seafood menu offerings pose challenges for Foremore Resto & Cafe. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media marketing, brand awareness, and purchase intention on purchasing decisions for seafood products at Foremore Resto & Cafe. Data on consumer behavior were collected from 143 respondents using a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques employed include Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using WarpPLS version 8.0 and quantitative descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that social media marketing and brand awareness play a crucial role in increasing consumers' purchase intention toward seafood products at Foremore Resto & Cafe. Brand awareness directly contributes to enhancing purchasing decisions, whereas social media marketing does not show a direct influence on purchasing decisions. Thus, optimizing social media marketing and brand awareness are key factors in fostering an effective purchase intention that leads to increased purchasing decisions for seafood products at Foremore Resto & Cafe.

Abstract

Feed management is a crucial component in the cultivation of vannamei shrimp, particularly during the larval stage which requires complex and varied nutritional needs. This study aims to explore innovative feed management strategies by combining natural and artificial feeds in an industrial-scale setting at Hatchery PT Suri Tani Pemuka, Bali. Natural feeds used included Thalassiosira sp. and Artemia salina, along with six types of artificial feeds administered throughout the larval rearing period from Nauplius to Post Larva (PL) 11 stages. Growth parameters, larval health, and water quality were regularly monitored. The results showed that this feed combination provided high nutritional content (45–60% protein, 16–23% fat) and favorable larval survival rates, ranging from 63.62% to 76.15% across the three rearing tanks. There were no significant differences in larval length among tanks (P>0.05), and water quality parameters remained within optimal thresholds. Microscopic observations supported visual assessments, indicating good physiological development in the larvae. This innovative feeding strategy demonstrates strong potential to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of vannamei shrimp larval aquaculture

Abstract

Whiteleg shrimp are superior in aquaculture due to their high survival rates in intensive cultivation systems, but the use of artificial feed increases aquatic organic matter, reducing dissolved oxygen and causing ecosystem instability. This oxygen depletion affects the survival, growth, and average daily growth (ADG) of the shrimp. Therefore, this study will present data on the correlation between Total Organic Matter (TOM) and the N/P ratio as the end product of the decomposition of organic matter on ADG vaname shrimp body weight gain from intensive shrimp ponds in Banyuwangi, East Java. Data sampling was carried out in 11 intensive rearing ponds at the age of 20 – 60 days of shrimp culture. Data correlation will be analyzed by correlation test using SPSS. The TOM obtained was in the range of 60.67 – 69.52 mg/l. The N/P ratio value obtained is 1.25 – 25.33. The ADG value obtained is 0.15 – 0.59 grams/day. The correlation between TOM and ADG shows a correlation coefficient of 0.468 which states that there is a positive correlation with a moderate level of correlation. The correlation between the N/P ratio and ADG shows a correlation coefficient of 0.066 which states that the results are negative or there is no correlation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the main limiting factors in the reproduction of snakehead fish (Channa striata) is that the female broodstock fails to spawn, because they cannot complete the final stages of vitellogenesis and ovulation naturally. Therefore, a breakthrough is needed in snakehead fish hatchery to increase the percentage of female broodstock successfully spawning. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of providing fermented products combined with probiotic EM4 (Effective Microorganism-4) and noni fruit in feed on the reproductive performance of female broodstock snakehead fish. This research uses non-factorial experimental methods. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications, namely treatment A (feed without supplementation of the fermented product with a combination of EM4 probiotics and noni fruit), treatment B (feed with supplementation of the fermented product with a combination of EM4 probiotics and noni fruit at a dose 10%), and treatment C (feed supplemented with fermented products combined with EM4 probiotics and noni fruit at a dose 20%). The results of the research showed that the addition of snakehead female broodstock feed with a fermented product combining EM4 probiotics and noni fruit at a dose of 10% gave the best results, namely an average gonad maturity index (IKG) value of 2.56%, relative fecundity of 3562 eggs per female broodstock, fertilization rate 87.33%, hatching rate 91.67%, and egg yolk absorption time 78 hours, and prolarva survival rate 98.67%. Keywords: female broodstock of Channa striata, noni fruit, reproduction performance, probiotic EM4.

Abstract

Chanos chanos is classified as a type of cultured fish with great economic value because it plays an important role in meeting the nutritional needs of the community and contributes in improving the welfare of life. Giving probiotics is one way that can be used to overcome environmental pollution. Probiotics themselves are living microorganisms that function to maintain the stability of the digestive system in the intestine. Molasses acts as a source of nutrients for probiotic bacteria and is expected to support the increase in the effectiveness of its population as bioremediation agents can be more optimal. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the addition of probiotics combined with molasses in feed on the growth and survival rate of milkfish (Chanos chanos). This research was conducted from October 10 to December 7, 2024 at Tadang Palie, Kec. Cempa. Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi with a duration of 60 days. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD), which involved four different treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that the effect of probiotics added to molasses in feed had a significant effect on the growth of absolute weight, specific, absolute length of milkfish. For absolute weight growth, the highest value was in treatment B (7.42 grams), the highest value of specific weight was in treatment B (9.86), the highest value of absolute length was in treatment B (9.4 cm), while survival and FCR had no significant effect on milkfish. The highest survival rate was found in treatment A (87%), and the best FCR value in treatment B (3.08).

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos have played an important role in coastal ecosystems, especially in beaches and mangrove areas, as indicators of environmental health and as important components of the food chain. However, the presence of human activities such as industrial waste, households, fisheries and agriculture could affect the abundance of macrozoobenthos in coastal areas. The purpose of this study was to assess and analyze the type, abundance, diversity, uniformity and dominance of macrozoobenthos and sediment substrate conditions in the beach and mangrove areas in Tanjung Limau village, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research was conducted from December to March 2024. This research method uses descriptive methods with sampling techniques using purposive random sampling. Macrozobenthos sampling sites were divided into 2 (two) stations. Station 1 was located at beach area, while station 2 was located in the mangrove ecosystem area. The results showed that the abundance of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove area (13 species) was higher compared to the beach (18 species), with groups of snails and bivalves. Abundance at station 1 (43.3 ind/m²) was lower than at station 2 (58.0 ind/m²). The diversity index value at station 1 (2.16) and station 2 (2.57) was classified as moderate. Uniformity at stations 1 and 2 was 0.84 and 0.87 (high category), respectively. Then the dominance index values found at stations 1 and 2 were 0.17 and 0.10 (non-dominant category), respectively. The sediment texture in the coastal area of Tanjung Limau at both stations 1 and 2 is a clayey loam, which is one of the main causes of the differences in macrozoobenthos abundance.
