Abstract

Problem-based science learning (PBL) has an important role in honing students' critical thinking skills, especially at the elementary school level. Through problem-based learning, students are invited to be directly involved in solving problems that are relevant to everyday life, so that it can stimulate their critical thinking process. This article aims to explore various findings from literature studies related to the application of PBL in science learning in elementary schools, with a focus on developing students' critical thinking skills. The findings from this study indicate that PBL is effective in improving students' analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving skills, as well as encouraging them to think more creatively and reflectively in facing challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to explore effective techniques in improving elementary school students' speaking ability. Good communication is an important skill that supports students' academic success and social-emotional development. Through a literature study method, this study analyzes various techniques such as role-playing methods, storytelling techniques, group discussions, and project-based learning (PBL). This study discusses various learning techniques in improving elementary school students' speaking ability and the role of teachers as facilitators, motivators, and mediators in the process. The findings of the study indicate that the implementation of these techniques effectively encourages students to be more active in speaking, increases their self-confidence, and develops their communication skills. In addition, an interactive learning environment and moral support from teachers play an important role in motivating students to practice speaking regularly. With the right and sustainable strategies, students' speaking ability can be significantly improved, preparing them to communicate better in various academic and social situations.

Abstract

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)-based education has become a relevant learning approach in responding to the challenges of the 21st century. This study aims to analyze the implementation of STEAM-based science education in elementary schools in order to form an innovative generation. Literature studies were conducted by reviewing articles, journals, and books related to the application of STEAM in elementary education. The results show that the STEAM approach can improve creativity, critical thinking skills, collaboration, and problem solving in students. In addition, the integration of art in STEAM can create more holistic learning. Challenges in implementation include limited resources, teacher training, and appropriate curriculum development. Recommendations are provided to support the successful implementation of STEAM in elementary schools.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of reading activities in developing children's imagination and creativity at the elementary school level. Various types of reading materials such as folk tales, fairy tales, and picture books play an important role in building creative thinking skills and imaginative abilities. This study uses a literature review method to examine the influence of reading on children's cognitive, emotional, and social development. The results of the study indicate that consistent reading activities and with the right approach can be an effective means to hone the potential of children's imagination and creativity.

Abstract

Listening ability is a basic skill that must be mastered by students in elementary school. However, listening learning is often less interesting for students so that the results are less than optimal. This article is a literature study that aims to explore the use of songs as an effective learning medium in developing students' listening skills. Based on studies from various literatures, songs have the potential to improve students' attention, understanding, and memory. This article examines the theory, benefits, and implementation of songs in listening learning in elementary schools. In addition, challenges and solutions are also presented in using songs as a learning medium.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an essential component in children's development that affects their academic and social success. This study aims to analyze the role of children's literature learning in developing students' emotional intelligence in lower elementary school grades. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the integration of children's literature in learning is effective in increasing empathy, emotional management, and students' social skills. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers utilize children's literature as a medium to develop students' emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Increasing ecological awareness from an early age is a strategic step in facing global environmental challenges. This article discusses the integration of environmental education in science learning in elementary schools as an approach to developing students' ecological awareness. Through interactive and project-based learning methods, students can understand the relationship between science and the environment. This study shows that this approach not only improves students' understanding of scientific concepts but also encourages them to take real action in protecting the environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of digital comics as a visual medium in improving elementary school students' narrative writing skills. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study examines the benefits, challenges, and effectiveness of using digital comics in learning. The findings show that digital comics make a positive contribution in helping students understand narrative structures, increasing learning motivation, and encouraging creativity. However, its implementation requires adequate technological support and training for teachers.

Abstract

The use of local wisdom-based teaching materials in science learning in elementary schools offers a relevant and contextual approach to improving students' understanding of science. This article aims to explore the literature related to the integration of local wisdom in science learning, focusing on its impact on students' understanding, environmental awareness, and the development of science skills. This study shows that the use of local wisdom can enrich teaching materials, increase student engagement, and foster an attitude of caring for the environment. The method used in this article is a literature study by analyzing various studies related to local wisdom in the context of science education. It was found that despite challenges in implementation, local wisdom-based teaching materials provide significant benefits in a more inclusive and relevant learning context for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of reward and punishment on the learning motivation of high-grade students in elementary schools in learning Indonesian. This literature study refers to various relevant previous studies and theories of learning motivation. The results of the analysis show that giving rewards can increase students' intrinsic motivation, while punishment given wisely can help students understand the consequences of their actions. This study provides important implications for teachers in designing effective learning strategies.
