Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between time management and procrastination in class XII students at SMA Negeri 6 Padang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The type of research used in this research is quantitative. The population in this study was 356 class XII students registered in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample of 188 students, using proportional random sampling. The instrument used in collecting data for this research was a questionnaire prepared according to the Likert scale model. Data analysis was carried out using statistical programs on SPSS 29 and Microsoft Excel computers. Based on data analysis, the hypothetical results obtained were that the rcount value was 0.589 while rtable was 1.43 because the rcount value was greater than rtable (0.589>1.43), so there was a significant positive relationship between time management and procrastination in class XII students at SMA Negeri 6 Padang. The more students are able to manage their time, the more students' academic procrastination can be reduced.

Abstract

Self-concept is a person's understanding, image or perception of themselves, a person views and assesses their physical condition, such as appearance, health, fitness, views and assesses their role in the social environment, relationships with others, and social acceptance. This study aims to determine the magnitude of the relationship between self-concept and students' conformity behavior. The method used in this study is quantitative with the type of research, namely correlational. The study was conducted in class XII of SMA Semen Padang. The population of this study was 150 people with a sample of 109 in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study was a Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis using statistical programs on IBM Statistical 29 and Microsoft Excel computers. Based on the results of data processing, the r-count value is 0.107, while the value is 0.195 because the r-count value is smaller than the r-table value (0.107 <0.195), it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between self-concept and conformity behavior.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of Chromebook media on critical reasoning skills and understanding of Earth's structure among 5th-grade students. Education that focuses on enhancing students' critical reasoning and comprehension has become a crucial aspect in preparing a smart and creative generation. Teachers can adapt teaching methods to meet students' needs, interests, and abilities. By utilizing various Chromebook media tools, teachers can provide broad access to information to support collaboration. This study aims to determine the influence of Chromebook-based learning media on critical reasoning skills and understanding of Earth's structure concepts among 5th-grade students. The results indicate that students using Chromebooks showed significant improvements in critical reasoning skills and comprehension of Earth's structure concepts compared to the group using conventional media. By using quantitative research methods through a pretest-posttest design, students using Chromebook media were compared to those using conventional media. Thus, this study concludes that Chromebooks play an essential role in facilitating a learning process that supports students' critical thinking skill development.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning engagement of first-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri Gili Barat, Kamal District, by using Kahoot as a learning media for the topic of comparing numbers. Student engagement is a key factor in achieving optimal learning outcomes, especially at the elementary school level. The method used in this study is a quasi-experiment, involving 20 students as the subjects of the research. Data were collected through observation sheets and questionnaires designed to measure the level of student engagement and motivation during the learning process. The results of the study show a significant improvement in student engagement, where the average engagement rate before the use of Kahoot was 60%, and after the application of this media, it increased to 85%. Additionally, 90% of the students reported that they felt happy and motivated when using Kahoot. This study recommends that teachers consider using educational technology such as Kahoot in basic education to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a Canva-based basic locomotor movement tutorial video on the long jump ability of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri Telang 2, Kamal District. The research method used is an experimental design with pre-test and post-test. The subjects of the study consisted of 30 students, divided into two groups: an experimental group using the tutorial video and a control group using conventional teaching methods. A pre-test was conducted to measure the students' initial abilities, while the post-test was conducted after six sessions of intervention. The results show that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in their long jump ability, with the average jump distance increasing from 1.5 meters (pre-test) to 2.3 meters (post-test). In contrast, the control group only showed an improvement from 1.4 meters to 1.7 meters. Data analysis using the t-test produced a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that the use of a Canva-based tutorial video is effective in improving students' long jump abilities and can be an innovative alternative teaching method in physical education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in IPAS subjects through the implementation of the question and answer method. The background of this study is the low cognitive learning outcomes of students caused by their lack of participation in the learning process. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade elementary school students. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observations, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the question and answer method was able to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. This is indicated by the increase in the average scores and the percentage of students' learning completeness from the pre-cycle to cycle I and cycle II. In addition, students' participation in the learning process also increased. Therefore, it can be concluded that the question and answer method is effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in IPAS subjects for fifth-grade students.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the understanding of religious diversity in Indonesia among second-grade students at SDN Tanjung Jati 2 by integrating song media with interactive PowerPoint presentations. The study was initiated due to low student comprehension of the attributes of the six official religions, attributed to ineffective conventional teaching methods. Using the Kemmis and McTaggart Classroom Action Research (CAR) model across two cycles, the study involved 12 students and collected data through observation, student worksheets (LKPD), and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement: in Cycle I, using conventional PPT methods, only 33.3% (4 out of 12 students) completed the worksheets accurately; however, in Cycle II, after implementing song-based media and group games, 100% of the students (12 out of 12) achieved correct results. These findings demonstrate that song media effectively stimulates multimodal memory, fosters a fun and collaborative learning environment, and significantly improves conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of science on the concept of metamorphosis in grade III of elementary school often stem from the limited use of concrete media and the dominance of verbal methods that are not in accordance with the stage of students' cognitive development. This study aims to examine the improvement of learning outcomes of metamorphosis materials through the gradual implementation of the Jigsaw model in Cycle I and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by pop-up media in Cycle II. The design used is a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (PTK) with 26 subjects of grade III students of SDN Burneh 1. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests, structured observation sheets, and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively descriptively using average scores and percentage of classical completeness. The success indicator is set at a classical completeness of at least 75%. The results of Cycle I showed an average class of 72.36 with a completeness of 69.23% (18 out of 26 students), not meeting the target. After reflection and switching to PjBL with pop-up media in Cycle II, the class average increased to 83.29 and classical completeness reached 84.62% (22 out of 26 students). In addition to cognitive improvement, there are noticeable improvements in aspects of collaboration, confidence, and depth of understanding of students' concepts. These findings indicate that a progressive combination of cooperative and project-based learning models supported by three-dimensional visual media is an effective strategy for learning abstract biology concepts in elementary school.

Abstract

This study was designed to optimize students' understanding of addition operations through the application of the drill method to third-grade students at SDN Banyuajuh 4. The primary problem underlying this study was students' weak mastery of addition concepts, particularly in the use of the storing technique, as reflected in numerous errors and low grades. The approach used in thisI study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which encompasses four main stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles involving 10 students. Data were collected throughIobservation, interviews,Itests, and documentation. Data were thenIanalyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative approaches, including calculating average grades and learning completion levels. The research findings showed a consistent increase in students' understanding across each cycle. The average score in the pre-cycle was 62.5, with 10% completion. This increased to 72.5 in the first cycle, with 50% completion. In the second cycle, it reached an average of 81.5, with 100% completion. Furthermore, student engagement in the learning process also increased significantly. Thus, the drill method has proven to be an effective solution for improving understanding of addition operations and encouraging improved learning outcomes and active student participation.

Abstract

Improving Science Learning Outcomes on the Topic of Seasons and Climate through the Discussion Method with Student Worksheets (LKPD) for Grade IV Students at SDN Banyuajuh 5. This study aims to improve students' Science learning outcomes on the topic of seasons and climate through the implementation of the discussion method with the assistance of Student Worksheets (LKPD). This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 9 fourth-grade students of SDN Banyuajuh 5. The data collected included quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were obtained through students' learning achievement tests, while qualitative data were collected through observations of students' activities during the learning process. The results of the study showed an improvement in students' learning outcomes in each cycle. In Cycle I, the percentage of students achieving learning mastery was 11%, while in Cycle II it increased to 100%. This improvement was accompanied by an increase in students' learning activities, which changed from the less active category in Cycle I to the highly active category in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the implementation of the discussion method with LKPD was effective in improving students' learning outcomes. In addition, students became more active in discussions, demonstrated better cooperation in group activities, and showed greater confidence in expressing their opinions during the learning process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the discussion method with LKPD can improve Science learning outcomes on the topic of seasons and climate for Grade IV students at SDN Banyuajuh 5.
