Abstract

This study explored (1) the meaning of struggle values (nilai-nilai kejuangan) in pesantren education and (2) how these values were internalized within the educational system of TMI Al-Amien Prenduan. Using a qualitative field approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving key institutional figures and educators. The findings indicate that struggle values at TMI Al-Amien Prenduan are primarily oriented toward worship (ibadah) and dedicated service (pengabdian) in education, conceptualized through the ethos of mujāhid al-tarbiyah (educational striver). These values are characterized by sincerity (ikhlas), doing one’s best, total commitment, and integrity in fulfilling educational responsibilities. The internalization process occurs in three interconnected stages: value transformation (value transmission and orientation), value transaction (two-way interaction and exemplary modeling), and transinternalization (habit formation and personality embodiment through the 24-hour pesantren system). The study highlights the uniqueness of institutional value formation where devotion, discipline, and continuous guidance are embedded into daily life, shaping educators and students into committed members of a value-based educational community.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the potential of the Inquiring Minds Want to Know (IMWTK) method in increasing learning enthusiasm in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subjects. The research method used is qualitative library research with a literature search of the last 5 years (2021–2025) through journal articles, proceedings, and relevant scientific sources discussing IMWTK, inquiry-based learning, motivation/situational motivation, curiosity, and SKI learning. The literature data were analyzed through thematic analysis to produce: (1) a syntactic description of IMWTK and its learning principles, (2) a mapping of the IMWTK mechanism that stimulates curiosity, engagement, and self-regulation, which are the foundations of learning enthusiasm, and (3) an applicable IMWTK implementation design for the SKI material context. The results of the study show that IMWTK has the potential to increase enthusiasm for learning SKI because it begins the learning process with questions/riddles that arouse curiosity gaps, provides space for opinion and argument, and directs students to verify answers through source searches and meaningful discussions. In conclusion, IMWTK is worthy of being used as an alternative active-inquiry strategy in SKI learning, provided that there is support in the form of question design, availability of sources, and assessments that evaluate students' thinking processes and participation.

Abstract

Islamic banking has experienced rapid growth in recent years, both in Muslim-majority and non-Muslim countries. As financial institutions operating based on Sharia principles, Islamic banks are required to provide services that not only meet customer needs but also align with Islamic values. One important aspect of these service standards is the physical condition of the office, which includes interior design, cleanliness, comfort of the service area, security, and accessibility. Good physical office conditions play a role in creating a sense of security and comfort, as well as increasing customer trust and satisfaction. Furthermore, an office environment that reflects the values of simplicity, professionalism, and cleanliness demonstrates the Islamic bank's commitment to implementing Sharia principles comprehensively. In the increasingly competitive Islamic banking industry, high service standards, including the quality of the physical condition of the office, are a crucial differentiating factor. Therefore, the development and implementation of service standards and physical office conditions that comply with Sharia principles are essential to support service quality, strengthen the bank's positive image, and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
