Abstract

Pedada fruit (Sonneratia caseolaris) is one of the mangrove varieties that has a high nutritional content and has the potential as an antioxidant. In general, pedada is still underutilized by the community because it tastes sour and feels tight when consumed directly. One of the efforts in utilizing the pedada fruit is processing it into jelly candy. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical characteristics of pedada jelly candy with the addition of carrageenan. This research is an experimental design using a quantitative descriptive approach with P2K2(100 ml  of pedada fruit juice and 20 gr carrageenan) and P0K2 contol samples (without pedada fruit juice and 20 gr of carrageenan). To find out the chemical characteristics were tested Carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber, water content, ash content, vitamin C and Antioxidant activity. This research was conducted in May-August 2018. Jelly candy making was carried out at the STIKes Baiturrahim Jambi Nutrition and Food Laboratory, Chemical characteristics were tested by proximate analysis (Carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber, water content, ash content), iodimetry (vitamin c) method and DPPH (Antioxidant activity) method. The best treatment in making Pedada jelly candy which is very preferred, namely P2K2 (100 ml pedada fruit juice and 20 gr carrageenan) with a carbohydrates (69.83%), protein (5.66%), fat (9.89%), water content (39.26%), ash content (9.67%), fiber (0.67%), vitamin C (14.08%) and antioxidant activity (67.34%).

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period involving physical, emotional, and social development experienced by young women as a process of preparation for entering adulthood. In general, physical changes tend to be more dominating. Young women and menstruation have a very close relationship because menstruation is one of the important issues in young women. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and anxiety levels of young women in the face of menarche. Subjects in this study were all students of SMP Negeri 13 Jambi City with a sample of 40 people. The sampling technique is proportional random sampling. Teenage anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire. There is a significant relationship between knowledge and anxiety levels of young women in the face of the first menstruation (menarche). It is hoped that there will be efforts to increase adolescent knowledge about reproductive health, especially menstrual preparation in the form of school programs in collaboration with local health centers.

Abstract

AbstractCoronary heart disease (CHD) can be treated with Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). This procedure is expected to reduce the morbidity and mortality rates due to CHD, and able to improve the quality of life. However, the recovery time of patients with post-operative CABG requires time to achieve a better quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length of postoperative CABG with the quality of life of post-operative CABG patients in Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. The research method used a descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 31 post-operative CABG patients who were willing to be respondents. Total sampling was used in this study. The instrument used a WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire that was valid and reliable. The results showed that the characteristics of patients with post-operative CABG were mostly 14 people (45.2%) aged 50-59 years old, 25 people (80.6%) were male, 16 people (51, 6%) were high school, and 15 people (48.4%) not working, 15 people (48.4%) have a length of post-operative CABG 4-6 months, and 21 people (67.7%) have a good quality of life. The results of the bivariate analysis with the Chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between the length of postoperative CABG with the quality of life of patients with a p-value = 0.006. The conclusion is encouraging the patients, families, and health workers, especially nurses have to pay attention to the quality of life of patients based on the length of post-operative CABG. Because of the length of post-operative CABG the better the quality of life of patients.

Abstract

AbstractPregnant mothers class to learn about health for pregnant women in the form of face-to-face in groups who want to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of mothers and families regarding assessment, care, childbirth, childbirth care, illness, or situations during pregnancy-childbirth and childbirth, care newborn babies use the Mother and Child Health book (MCH) as the main ingredient. High-risk pregnant women in Puskesmas putri ayu experienced an increase in 2018 (January-December) increased by 146 high-risk pregnant women and in 2019 (January august) there were 152 high-risk pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of education on information and communication on the ability of pregnant women to face the challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and childbirth in pregnant mothers working area of the Putri Ayu Public Health Center in 2019. The method of this study used a quasi-study with one group pretest-postet design. The sampling technique in this study was a total sampling of 50 respondents. analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Research results obtained by pregnant women p value of .000, childbirth with a p value of .000 and puerperium p value of .0009 means related to education education about health and safety for pregnant women who associate the problem of childbirth danger in the class of pregnant women at the working area of Putri Ayu Health Center Jambi in 2019. It is expected that midwives' special health centers will improve their communication skills, through health counseling, this can be used as a health workforce program in providing health education.

Abstract

AbstractBreast cancer sufferers have a tendency to experience a decrease of self esteem that make  patients shall showing symptoms such as blaming themself for what they experienced. One way to increase self esteem in cancer patients is by increasing family participation through family support. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between family support and self esteem in breast cancer patients. This study was using cross sectional design. The study was taken place at the Surgical Oncology Polyclinic, found samples of 188 respondents which was selected with a purposive sampling technique.The results showed that the majority of respondents were in the category of moderate self-esteem were 98 respondents (52.1%) and the category of moderate family support were 96 respondents (51.1%). The Rank Spearmen test results shows p value 0,000 (p <ɑ), means there is a relationship between self-esteem and family support in breast cancer patients with r value of 0.566 (positive relationship). It is expected that the family will always support the patient in every process of treatment, whether in the form of physical, psychological or financial support that could increase the patient's self esteem

Abstract

AbstractBullying behavior can result in the growth and development of a child, namely trauma and fear so that children do not want to go to school and experience disruption in the learning process. During the period of 2002-2005 there were 30 suicides which happened to victims of abuse at the age range of 6-15 years. Another impact of abuse behavior in childhood is closely related to anti-social behavior in the future after the child grows into adolescents and adults. This type of research and development. This research was conducted in an elementary school environment in the city of Jambi. The population was 48,043 students and 138 research samples. The results of this study the perpetrators of bullying are mostly done by classmates by 77%. The target of classmates bullying was 73%, the location of the harassment was mostly done in the classroom by 69.6%. The incidence of bullying is low around 45.7% and the incidence of bullying is high at 54.3%. The conclusion is the incidence of bullying with the grade level of elementary school students does not have a significant relationship. The incidence of bullying with gender does not have a significant relationship. The incidence of bullying with the perpetrator or victim has a significant relationship. There is a significant difference in knowledge in the use of modules and applications with a p-value of 0,000. the use of applications is more effective than the use of modules with a p-value of 0,000

Abstract

Anemia is a health problem for people around the world, especially in developing countries. Teenagers have a high risk of anemia, especially iron anemia. That happens because adolescence requires higher nutrients including iron for growth and development. Young women have a higher risk than young men, this is because young women experience menstruation every month (menstruation). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between menstrual patterns and the incidence of anemia in young women in Unissula Midwifery Study Program in Semarang. Method: This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional study design. The study was conducted in May with a sample of 39 female students of the second semester of unissula midwifery study program. The sampling technique used is total sampling. Menstrual pattern data were obtained through a structured questionnaire, and hemoglobin levels were obtained by examination using the Family DR tool. Data collection includes coding, editing and tabulating, then the data are analyzed with Chi square. The results showed the relationship of menstrual patterns with the incidence of anemia in young women in Unissula Semarang Midwifery Study Program, it was found that the p value <0.05 (0,000). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between menstrual patterns and the incidence of anemia in adolescents in Unissula Midwifery Bachelor Study in Semarang. Adolescents are expected to increase knowledge about anemia and can change adolescent eating behavior for the better

Abstract

Retirement is a separation from employment whereby an employee opts to cease working due to age or disability. Retirement preparation is a set of plan for employees to adapt to some challenges for their retirement. This study aimed at analyzing nurses’ experiences towards retirement preparation. To accomplish this goal, this study used a descriptive qualitative design which was descriptive phenomenological approach. This study was conducted in 2019 in Bhayangkara Hospital Denpasar. The sample of this study was 4 participants. The technique used was purposive sampling. The data were collected through in-depth interview and field notes. The obtained data were analyzing through colaizi method. The results of this study were  4 themes such as, 1. nurses’ understanding towards retirement preparation,  2. nurses’ feelings towards retirement preparation, 3. the challenges faced by nurses towards retirement preparation, 4. ways to cope with challenges of retirement preparation. Researcher expectations For nurses who will retire can improve the ability and service of nurses in dealing with problems experienced by clients

Abstract

Jenang, or what is often called dodol, slab, or gelamai, includes dense, chewy, half-processed products. Jenang, which was innovated from chayote, has a relatively short shelf life, which is only able to survive 3-5 days at room temperature (27ºC). Therefore, a good packaging is needed that can extend the shelf life of one of them is edible coating, which is the packaging of edible materials. Edible coating is one of the efforts that can be done to maintain the quality of a food. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality and estimation of chayote with and without edible jenang based on physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters. In this study using the analysis of water content, peroxide numbers, and total microbes and using the edible dip method. From the research it can be seen that the chayote jenang based on physical quality in edible samples can maintain the water content so that the texture remains elastic compared to without edible until the 15th day. Based on the chemical quality in jenang squash with edible, oxidation only occurred after storage on the 22nd day. Microbiological quality in the conjoined pumpkin jenang coated with edible or without edible was overgrown with a total amount of yeast mold ≥300,000 Cfu / g.

Abstract

The behavior of reading food labels is one of the Balanced Nutrition Messages. How to find out the safety of packaged food to be purchased by looking at food labels, but awareness of the importance of reading labels is still low. Nutrition students at STIKes Baiturrahim obtained courses related to food labeling and to make conclusions about the extent to which nutrition students understand and practice food labels, then a comparison group was made of non-nutrition students. The aim of this study was to found the differences in knowledge and behavior in reading food labels between nutrition and non-nutrition students at STIKes Baiturrahim.This study used a cross sectional study design that was conducted at STIKes Baiturrahim Jambi in May 2019. The research respondents were final year students at STIKes Baiturrahim from a group of 70 nutrition and non-nutrition students with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses a questionnaire about knowledge about food labels and food label reading behavior. Data were then analyzed using the Mann Whitney test for food label knowledge and the Independent Sample t-test for reading food label behavior. The results showed that there were no differences in knowledge and behavior in reading food labels between nutrition and non-nutrition students with p-values of each variable 0,203 and 0,554. For further research, it can be continued with the same or different variables by taking a variable on one of the food label information that is on food packaging with a more in-depth research method (qualitative).
