Abstract

Complementary midwifery services are part of the application of complementary and alternative medicine in midwifery services. Complementary midwifery services are an option for midwives and women to reduce medical interventions during pregnancy and childbirth and the puerperium, and based on experience this is quite helpful. However, most of these therapies are not considered meaningful in conventional medicine. This is due to the scarcity of published clinical evidence and information regarding the effectiveness of complementary obstetric services in pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. The use of complementary therapies in the field of midwifery must be proven safe by research. Although traditional / complementary medicine is relatively safer, it does not mean that it does not pose a risk, for that mothers must have adequate knowledge about the use of safe complementary therapies during the postpartum period. This community service is carried out in the work area of the Putri Ayu Community Health Center with the largest target number of pregnant women, so it is hoped that the mother will get correct information about the use of complementary therapies during the postpartum period since pregnancy, so that mothers can leave harmful therapies and utilize complementary therapies appropriately.

Abstract

Indonesia is included in the group of countries with a high prevalence of stunting (30-39%) where this prevalence increased from 36.8% in 2007 to 37.2% in 2013. According to UNICEF, the indirect factor causing stunting is parenting (ASI-Exclusive and ASI Complementary Foods/ MP-ASI) are not good. Several studies have suggested that nutritional problems in infants and children are caused by inappropriate breastfeeding and MP-ASI habits. Supplementary feeding for ASI 6-12 months of age is often a problem for families, generally families choose fast food, while self-cooking takes longer, this also occurs in the people of the Kotabaru sub-district area so education needs to be done to mothers who have babies less than 6 months old so they can prepare the right MP-ASI for their children later.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: remaja, penyalahgunaan narkobaABSTRACTAdolescence is a transition period where the problem generally is the search for identity. Therefore, it often has the urge to present itself as a separate group. But this encouragement often leads teenagers to serious problems, one of which is drug use. The prevalence of drug abuse in special households is much higher than in general households. This indicates that drug abuse and distribution has its own pockets in society. The level of knowledge of drugs in people who know the dangers of drugs are good enough, but their understanding of drug prevention efforts is still low. Thus, it is necessary to make efforts to communicate, education, and information more optimally, especially in the aspect of strengthening the topic or issue of how to make effective prevention from the threat of drug harm. In Jambi city, there are relatively few drug users among adolescents, namely 29 people for the 10-14 age group and 39 people from the 15-18 age group. Adolescent drug users almost all reside in the work area of the Tahtul Yaman’s Public Health Center, 27 people for the 10-14 age group and 38 people for the 15-18 year age group. Keywords: Adolescence, drug use

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation caused by uterine muscle spasms. The cause of dysmenorrhea is due to increased levels of prostaglandins. The blood flow to the uterus decreases so that the uterus does not get a adequate supply of oxen which causes pain intensity pain influenced by the individual's description of the pain or the perception of pain experience. Treatment efforts to reduce dysmenorrhea are by administering pharmacological therapies such as analgetic drugs, hormonal therapy therapy with non-steroidal anti-prostaglandin drugs and cervical canal dilatation. Yoga is a technique that teaches such as relaxation techniques, breathing, and body position to increase strength, balance and reduce pain. Abstract

Complementary therapy in health care is a non-conventional treatment aimed at increasing the degree of public health. The terpi includes promotional, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative efforts that have proven their quality of safety, and effectiveness based on research and science (Evidence Based Medicine). In complementary therapy, the therapist treats various diseases or complaints using traditional techniques and is not done by surgery and drugs or pharmaceutical products, but by utilizing various types of therapy and herbs. The use of complementary therapies in the field of midwifery must be proven safe by research. Pregnant women are a group that is recommended to take advantage of complementary therapy or medicine in dealing with perceived complaints, because complementary therapy can avoid the side effects of conventional medicine and have great control over their own health. Although traditional / complementary medicine is relatively safer, it does not mean that it does not pose a risk, therefore pregnant women must have adequate knowledge about the use of safe complementary therapies during pregnancy.Health education on complementary therapies in pregnancy is provided by extension methods when pregnant women carry out motherhood classes in the working area of Puskesmas Putri Ayu, Jambi City. This activity was carried out in conjunction with the clinical practice of students of D III Midwifery Stikes Baiturrahim Jambi.

Abstract

Anxiety and fear experienced by mothers especially primipara can extend the duration of labor and increase the incidence of labor by action, namely labor with cesarean section (OR 26.9 CI 95%) and vacuum extraction (OR 4.5 CI 95%). Felman et al also found that more than 12% of mothers who had given birth said that they experienced anxiety during childbirth where these experiences were unpleasant times in their lives. Anxiety will be felt differently during pregnancy and third trimester anxiety is higher than the previous trimester. Pregnancy with anxiety will affect the intrauterine environment and fetal development. Anxiety has an opportunity to increase fear three times in labor and a 1.7 times chance to increase the incidence of cesarean. Mental health including pregnancy anxiety has been proven to be reduced or eliminated through physical exercise. One of the recommended physical exercises is yoga because it is low cost, easy to do and very beneficial for physical fitness and psychology. Yoga in pregnancy is more effective in reducing anxiety and depression

Abstract

Maternal mortality rate is higher in assisted childbirth rather than that of natural childbirth. The unresolved anxiety can cause childbirth to last longer and lead to assisted childbirth. Childbirth environment at the hospital can increase maternal anxiety which results in disturbing uterine contraction so that action should be taken to speed up the delivery process. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in anxiety level between mothers who give birth at the Public Health Center and those who give birth at Private Midwife Center. The study was conducted by cross-sectional design on 74 mothers in labor. They were divided into two groups: those who give birth at Public Health Center and those who give birth at Private Midwife Center with consecutive sampling technique.Data were then analyzed by conducting Independent T test. The result showed that the first group had higher average score of anxiety than the second group with p value < 0.05.The study suggested that there was significant difference between giving birth at Public Health Center and giving birth of Private Midwife Center
