Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the opportunities for developing cultural heritage tourism based on sustainable tourism models in Pulau Morotai District. Methodology: This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through field research, interviews with government stakeholders in Pulau Morotai, and documentation from relevant reports, books, journals, and articles. Data analysis applied qualitative techniques to examine sustainable tourism indicators based on the WCAD framework. Main Findings: Pulau Morotai has significant potential to develop sustainable cultural heritage tourism due to its historical legacy, such as World War II sites and cultural landmarks. However, challenges include the limited involvement of local communities and NGOs, and overdependence on government and foreign investors. Improvement in stakeholder participation, infrastructure, and promotion strategies are needed to realize this potential. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes original insights into how a remote district like Pulau Morotai can utilize its cultural heritage as a strategic asset for sustainable tourism development. It highlights specific sustainability indicators and local governance dynamics that are rarely addressed in existing literature on Indonesian tourism planning.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The aim of this study is to identify the role of the tourism office in developing the competence of the tourism awareness group in Lowita Beach, Pinrang Regency. It also aims to explore strategies used to enhance their competencies. Methodology: This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research was conducted at Lowita Beach, Pinrang Regency. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Informants included tourism office staff and members of the tourism awareness group. Main Findings: The Tourism Office of Pinrang Regency has implemented various strategies to develop the competence of the tourism awareness group in Lowita Beach, including training in technical, theoretical, and conceptual skills. However, participation and support from the Youth and Sports Division remain insufficient. While progress has been made, further innovation and capacity building are needed to meet national tourism village standards. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers an in-depth look at the actual role and strategic implementation of local tourism governance in developing community-based tourism actors. It highlights the importance of structured competency development for sustainable tourism growth and contributes new insights on how local government support influences tourism village success.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe the strategy for developing beach tourism objects and analyze their contribution to increasing Regional Original Income (PAD) in Banggai Laut Regency. Methodology: This research used a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation at the Department of Tourism, Banggai Laut Regency. Informants consisted of five individuals who were directly involved in tourism development and PAD management. Main Findings: The development strategy includes coordination with tourism stakeholders, destination development, tourism marketing, and collaboration with tourism institutions. Contributions to PAD are derived from hotel tax, restaurant tax, entertainment tax, and special parking fees. Tourism activities significantly support local financial independence and economic growth in Banggai Laut Regency. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a contextual insight into how underutilized coastal tourism potential can be strategically developed to boost PAD. It highlights an integrated tourism development model involving local government collaboration and public-private synergy, which can serve as a reference for similar coastal regions in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore the development, benefits, and risks of parkour as a recreational sport in the Parkour Freerun Flow It community in Pekanbaru. It focuses on the community's progress, the physical and mental benefits, and the potential risks associated with the sport. Methodology: This study used a qualitative method with purposive sampling. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The subjects consisted of community members and experts, including athletes, therapists, and medical professionals. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The study found a decline in interest and training intensity within the parkour community due to limited training facilities and lack of institutional support. Despite this, parkour offers significant benefits such as improved physical fitness, mental resilience, and self-confidence. Risks include minor to severe injuries, particularly if warm-ups are neglected. Younger practitioners are especially vulnerable due to underdeveloped joints and bones. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes to the understanding of parkour as an emerging recreational sport in Indonesia. It uniquely documents the evolution and current state of a regional parkour community, highlighting the dual nature of parkour as both physically beneficial and potentially hazardous. It offers insights for policymakers to better support urban recreational sports.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify the availability, quality, and utilization of Physical Education, Sports, and Health facilities and infrastructure in public junior high schools in Purbalingga, and to examine teacher creativity in modifying learning tools to overcome facility limitations. Methodology: This study employed a qualitative descriptive design using observation, documentation, and questionnaire techniques. Data were collected from public junior high schools in Purbalingga. Instruments included observation sheets and questionnaires for teachers. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing based on percentage standards. Main Findings: The results show that the availability of facilities is generally categorized as fairly ideal to ideal, although disparities exist among schools. Some facilities are in poor condition and not optimally utilized. Teacher creativity in modifying equipment using simple materials was identified as an effective strategy to support learning. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides a comprehensive regional analysis of facilities combined with an examination of teacher creativity in modifying learning tools. It offers a more integrated perspective by linking facility availability with adaptive teaching practices in resource-limited school environments.
