Abstract

This study aimed to observe the results of learning mathematics in fourth-grade students at SDI Al Biruni. The observation method was employed to understand the level of students' understanding of mathematics material and the effectiveness of teaching methods used in the school. The study involved 30 grade IV students as observation subjects. Data were analyzed through qualitative analysis to identify trends and patterns in the observations. The results of this study are expected to have provided an overview of the extent to which grade IV students at SDI Al Biruni mastered mathematics and offered insights into possible improvement efforts in the learning process.

Abstract

Conservation Biology is an interdisciplinary science whose purpose is to encourage the development of theory and application in conservation areas. Biawak Island is one of the leading conservation areas in the Indramayu district, therefore conservation biology learning should be done directly on Biawak Island. In practice, studying conservation biology directly on Biawak Island is difficult because of the long distance and expensive access to this place. Based on these problems, a digital encyclopedia of conservation on Biawak Island is needed to solve the problem of needing media that can become a medium for studying conservation in this hard-to-reach area. The method in this research is quantitative, and the research design is development research using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), but does not include implementation and evaluation phases. The name given to the encyclopedia is PULBIN PEDIA, which was created using the PHP programming language. The content includes a profile of Biawak Island and conservation on Biawak Island, which contains multimedia narrative text, images, and videos. The digital encyclopedia has a control device that allows users to explore the encyclopedia's contents independently and can be updated at any time by the administrator. The validation expert results show that the PULBIN PEDIA encyclopedia is very valid as a learning medium for students and college students.

Abstract

This study aimed to compile a didactic design on social arithmetic material based on learning obstacles and learning trajectories experienced by students when learning the concept. The research method used was a Didactical Design Research (DDR) method with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and learning obstacle tests. The first step in this study was to identify learning obstacles by testing learning obstacle instruments on grade VIII A students, with a total of 18 MTs Mu'allimat NW Anajani students who had received and learned the material. Before the learning obstacle test, researchers first examined the composition of the selected material, namely social arithmetic, in existing source books. Identified, the next step was the preparation of a didactic design with the use of learning theories that were in accordance with the expectations of obstacles when the learning obstacle test could be overcome or reduced. The didactic design that had been prepared was then implemented for grade VIII A students, with a total of 18 MTs Mu'allimat NW Anajani students in the even semester.

Abstract

This work aimed to examine the role of Teach-Qual (Teachers Quality) model on student’s mathematics interest as mediated by student’s perception in mathematics. The study sample 300 students from three senior high schools found in the Ashanti Region of Ghana using Convenience, stratified sampling, and simple random sampling. The study is purely a quantitative method which employed questionnaire as a data collection tool. The data was analyzed by using Amos (Ver. 23) for estimating the result for the hypothesis path. The outcome of this study revealed that, teacher-student’s-collaboration and teacher empathy yielded a direct positive and statistically improved impact on student’s maths interest. Student’s perception in mathematics partially mediates the association between teacher empathy as well as student’s mathematics interest. Moreover, perception in mathematics partially mediates the relationship between teacher-student’s-collaboration and student’s maths interest. The study recommended mathematics teachers to collaborate with students in terms of classroom teaching and learning, work more practical mathematics examples with students in the class in order to enhance student’s mathematics interest.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the increase in geometric thinking skills after using the Learning Cycle assisted by an interactive Geometry Book. The research design used is an experiment Design. In addition, the participants in this research were students in class VIII B at a private school in Indramayu Regency. Apart from that, the test instrument in this research is a test sheet in the form of a description. Next, the data obtained from the pre-test and post-test were analyzed statistically using the paired samples t-test. Based on the research results, it shows that the N-gain score shows an average value of 0.8903 or 89.03%, which is included in the high category. Furthermore, based on the normality test of the pre-test and post-test data, it shows that both data are normally distributed. Apart from that, based on the results of the paired samples test calculation, the Sig value is known. (2-tailed), namely 0.000 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, this study concludes that there is a difference in the average increase in students' geometric thinking abilities before and after using the interactive learning cycle assisted by interactive geometry books.
