Abstract

Shooting simulators are essential tools in military exercises, enabling soldiers to develop their shooting skills in a controlled and safe environment. However, the effectiveness of these simulators is often hindered by noise in gyroscope sensor data, which is used to track weapon motion. This noise can lead to inaccuracies in determining the position and orientation of the weapon, thereby reducing the precision of aiming and the realism of the simulation. In turn, this affects the responsiveness and overall performance of the training system, potentially diminishing the quality of soldiers’ practice sessions. To address this issue, the implementation of a Kalman filter proves to be highly effective. By processing noisy gyroscope data, the Kalman filter minimizes inaccuracies, enhances motion tracking, and ensures smoother and more realistic weapon handling during simulation. This improvement not only boosts the accuracy of the simulator but also ensures a more reliable and responsive training experience for soldiers

Abstract

Global climate change and increasing rainfall intensity have significantly heightened the risk of flooding, particularly in vulnerable areas. To address this issue, this research aims to develop an automatic floodgate system powered by hydropower as a sustainable solution for flood disaster mitigation. The system utilizes hydraulic energy from river or canal flows to drive a micro-hydro generator, which supplies electricity to operate a sluice gate actuator. Water level sensors are deployed to monitor real-time water surface fluctuations and relay data to a controller that autonomously regulates the floodgate operation. The research employed a combination of hydropower generation, real-time sensor integration, and automated control systems to achieve the desired functionality. Testing demonstrated that the system effectively responds to varying water levels, ensuring precise water flow regulation and reducing flood risks. The results highlight the system's efficiency and sustainability, offering an environmentally friendly and self-contained method for flood control. This solution presents a scalable approach to protecting communities from potential flood damage while promoting energy independence.

Abstract

In munitions disposal, challenges can sometimes pose risks to personnel or damage equipment. To address this, a smart relay system was developed to create and testrol system to support munitions disposal in military operations. This research used an experimental approach, where the system was tested at various distances and environmental conditions. The testing aimed to measure response speed, relay activation success rate, and signal range. The results showed that the smart relay system could operate with a fast response time up to a distance of 250 meters, with a success rate of 98% in the laboratory and 96% in outdoor conditions. However, the system still faces challenges regarding signal range and battery life, especially at distances over 400 meters or in extreme environmental conditions. In conclusion, this control system is effective and efficient in enhancing the safety of munitions disposal. However, further development is needed to extend the signal range and optimize battery life. Integrating stronger communication technology and more efficient batteries is recommended to improve the system's stability and performance in the field.

Abstract

The strategic planning and defense systems in Indonesia present a fascinating subject for discussion. The aim of this article is to ensure that all parties involved in defense design are more conscious of the developments within a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) strategic environment. This article used the descriptive method with in-depth elaboration analysis. The result shows that developing a grand strategy to achieve victory, several key considerations must be taken are Evaluating risks and uncertainties, Analyzing the distinction between security and safety, Interpreting the concept of victory as encompassing peace, not just success in conflict, Basing effective strategies for addressing threats and vulnerabilities on thorough research, Identifying and addressing threats and vulnerabilities are crucial for maintaining global stability and peace. We have to consider the VUCA environment in making the grand strategy. Volatility refers to a dynamic, non-linear system where causes and effects can lead to imbalances. Uncertainty refers to unpredictable conditions that necessitate Indonesian Navy careful approach in planning defense strategies and determining the appropriate structure for the armed forces. Complexity illustrates the patterns of past events but cannot predict their recurrence. Ambiguity refers to an uncertain situation that requires the Indonesian Navy to be prepared to act if conditions escalate to a more dangerous level than anticipated. The Grand Strategy of the Indonesian Navy Defense must take into account the VUCA Strategic Environment, which encompasses Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. Understanding the complexity of VUCA is vital as it enhances organizational self-awareness, particularly within the military

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the use of production factors and income in sugarcane farming (Saccharum officinarum L.) in Kedungjajang District, Lumajang Regency. The sampling was conducted using the Simple Random Sampling technique, involving 110 sugarcane farmers from a total population of 2,191 farmers. The analysis methods used include cost, income, and efficiency analysis (technical, allocative, and economic) with Frontier software version 4.1. The research results show that the total cost of sugarcane farming reaches Rp 40,150,900/Ha/Planting Season with a revenue of Rp 79,412,830/Ha/Planting Season, resulting in a net income for farmers of Rp 39,261,900/Ha/Planting Season. Most farmers (77.28%) have achieved technical efficiency in the interval of 0.95-1.00 with an average of 0.972. Meanwhile, 60% of farmers achieved optimal allocative efficiency and 62.73% of farmers achieved economic efficiency. Factors such as age, education, and farming experience do not significantly affect technical inefficiency. Sugarcane farming at the research location has the potential to be further developed by optimizing the allocation of production inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and labor to maximize farmers' income.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between the extent of Indonesia's forests and the income levels of the Indonesian population. Using literature review and descriptive analysis of secondary data, this study aims to determine the extent to which Indonesian forests contribute to the economic well-being of the community. The research results show that there is no consistent relationship between the area of Indonesian forests and the income levels of the community. The fluctuating rate of deforestation in Indonesia's forests does not align with the steadily increasing income of the population during the period 2002-2022. The research also revealed a discrepancy in information regarding the contribution of the forestry sector to the national GDP, with percentages varying between 0.66% and 3.11% according to various sources. Through predictive analysis, it is projected that the area of primary forests in Indonesia will increase during the period 2035-2039 and after 2049, while Indonesia's GDP per capita is predicted to continue rising to USD 5,174 by 2050, although it will not yet reach the level of developed countries. This research suggests the need for a more systematic administration system in recording income from the forestry sector, alignment of global forest definitions, and an increase in the contribution of forest products to community welfare while maintaining environmental sustainability.
