Abstract

Introduction: Elderly people who have health problems are said to be more vulnerable (frailty). One aspect that causes the elderly to experience vulnerability is the high risk of falling. Aim: Determine the effect of balance training and Ankle Strategy Exercise on the risk of falls in the elderly. Methods: Using comparative analytic research one group pretest-posttest design Population pre-elderly 50-60 years and elderly >60 years, sampling with a purposive sampling technique that met the inclusion criteria. Data collection with the Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) instrument. Results: Showed that the value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion: There is an effect of giving balance exercises and ASE on the risk of falling in the elderly.

Objective: Obtain a description of the nurse's behavior in implementing infection control and prevention in patients. Method: Use a descriptive observational design. The population of this study is nurses in the inpatient section, with a sample number of 60 nurses. Results: Research shows that nurses' behavior in infection prevention and control is still not as good as (60%). Conclusion: Health workers, especially nurses, must apply universal precautions properly to reduce the number of Health Care Associated Infections (HAIs).

Abstract

Introduction: Anemia is one of the factors causing indirect maternal death. Anemia in pregnancy is a condition of mothers with maternal hemoglobin levels of less than 11.0 g / dL in the first and third trimesters and hemoglobin levels of less than 10.5 g / dL in the second trimester. Purpose: Knowing the factors that affect anemia in pregnancy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This study uses analytical observational studies with a case-control study design. The sampling method uses the Purposive Sampling technique. The sample size in this study was 99 samples consisting of 33 cases and 66 controls. Data were obtained from three health centers in Palopo City: The Bara Permai Health Center, Fort Health Center, and South Wara Health Center. Results: Statistical analysis obtained the age of pregnant women (OR = 7,368; sig (0,000 < 0.05), parity (OR = 2,754; sig = 0.047 < 0.05), pregnancy distance (OR = 2,925; Sig-p=0.022), educate (OR=3.750; sig-p=0.003), adherence to consuming Fe tablets (OR=4.214; Sig-p=0.006, and LiLA status (OR=27.125; Sig-p = 0.000). Conclusion: There is a meaningful influence between the age of pregnant women, parity, gestational distance, education, adherence to Fe tablet consumption, and LiLA status to anemia in pregnancy.

Abstract

Introduction: The most common maternal death causes are bleeding, pregnancy hypertension (preeclampsia and eclampsia), and infections. Objective: Analyze the impact of preeclampsia in pregnancy on the growth of the fetus in the womb. Method: Observational analytical research with longitudinal panel study design. The population of pregnant women in samples taken by purposive sampling was 74 pregnant women. Results: Chi-square test P-value of 0.000 or <0.05, preeclampsia and OR 0.017 (0.002-0.15), and regression analysis of preeclampsia status had an effect of 0.017. The determinant coefficient (Negelkerke R Square) shows that the probability value of pregnant women experiencing preeclampsia can cause the possibility of fetal growth to be inhibited by as much as 48%. Conclusion: That preeclampsia dramatically affects the development of the intrauterine fetus. To improve the nutritional status of intrauterine mothers and fetuses, counselling can be done on pregnant women.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension or high blood pressure is still a health problem experienced by the world's population, especially in Indonesia. Hypertension or high blood pressure is an increase in systolic blood pressure 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure 90 mmHg when examined twice within 5 minutes in a calm state. One way to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients is to relax muscles progressively. Objective: This study aims to explain progressive muscle relaxation in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Methods: The retrieval and data collection method are carried out through library research by tracing the results of scientific publications from 2017-2022 through the Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Researchgate databases. Results: Progressive muscle relaxation can be done continuously at least twice daily for 25-30 minutes. Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation should be done correctly with the correct sequence, movement, and focus so that individuals who do progressive muscle relaxation feel relaxed. Progressive muscle relaxation can be done independently or in combination with other non-pharmacological techniques

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five due to chronic malnutrition characterized by their length or height being below the standard. Objective: Know progressive policies and efforts in overcoming stunting in toddlers. Method: Qualitative research with 16 informants, including ordinary and key informants. Results: Show that aggressive actions in overcoming stunting are minimal because officers' knowledge, parenting, and role are still shallow. Conclusion: That progressive efforts to combat stunting still need to be improved regarding maternal knowledge about healthy and nutritious food for toddlers. Policymakers to play a proactive role in tackling stunting through education, counselling, and empowerment to mothers of toddlers so that they can understand the causes and risks if their children suffer from stunting.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels (Hyperglycemia) due to damage to insulin secretion and insulin work; daily blood glucose levels vary, and blood sugar levels will increase after eating and return to normal within 2 hours. Purpose: To determine the instability of blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Method: Design qualitative research with a study approach, a method carried out to expose or describe the actual situation. Results: There was a gap between patient 1 and patient 2 in the study results. In patient 1, it was found that the patient had anemic conjunctiva, and patient 2 had no complaints of anemic conjunctiva. This happens because low hemoglobin levels can prove the presence of iron deficiency anemia. Serum protein levels provide an estimate of offal protein deposits. Conclusion: The problem of nursing instability of blood glucose levels in patients has not been resolved because the blood glucose levels of both cases have not stabilized/are normal.

Abstract

Introduction: Corona Virus Diseases (Covid-19) 's impact on older adults leads to physical health problems and can affect psychological issues such as depressive symptoms. This study aims: To determine the prevalence of depressive symptoms in older adults and the related factors that influence depressive symptoms. Methods: This study uses a literature review approach based on data sources from Google scholar, PubMed, and ProQuest. Then, 17,323 articles were filtered based on inclusion criteria, and 14 were included in this study. Results: The prevalence of depressive symptoms ranged from 7.7% to 62.3%. The older adults at risk of having symptoms of depression are the older adults in older age groups ≥ 75 old age, living alone, loneliness, lack of social contact with family and friends, and older adults with comorbidities or illnesses. The prevalence of depressive symptoms among older adults with comorbidities was 61%. Abstract

Introduction: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a complaint often found in the community; it is a problem in the community because it often results in sufferers being disturbed or unable to carry out daily tasks. Objective: Knowing the effect of Core Strength Training (CST) on changes in pain and daily living (ADL) activities in patients with low back pain (LBP). Method: This study is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest one-group design study where the effect of exercise is measured before and after treatment. The sample was 15 people consisting of 53.5% women and 46.7% men with an age range of 25-65 years. Results: Statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test obtained a significant value of p = 0.001 (p<0.05), which showed that there were substantial changes before and after the administration of Core Strengthening Training by looking at a decrease in pain and an increase in Activity Daily Living (ADL) in Low Back Pain patients. Conclusion: There is a decrease in pain and an increase in Activity Daily Living (ADL) after the administration of Core Strength Training in LBP patients.
