Abstract

The Muslim population is expected to grow significantly by 26 per cent by 2030, reaching about 2.2 billion, a significant figure. Currently, the global Islamic finance market was valued at US$2.2 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach US$3.02 billion by 2027, exhibiting a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 10.2% during the period of 2022-2027. The demand for wealth management that is in line with Islamic principles is rapidly increasing. Islamic wealth management is a new and promising financial service industry that is attracting affluent individuals who want their assets managed in accordance with Islamic values and principles. It is important to note that Islamic wealth management is distinct from the Western conception of wealth management due to its distinct philosophical foundation. Hence, understanding the philosophical foundations of Islamic wealth management is crucial to effectively manage wealth from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of this paper is to redefine the contemporary concept of wealth management from an Islamic viewpoint, drawing insights from the Qur'an and Sunnah, and propose an Islamic framework for wealth management. The research findings indicate that Islamic wealth management, derived from the Qur'an and Hadith, centers around the concept of Tawhīd as the central pillar and the adherence to Shari'ah as the guiding law for Muslims. The process of Islamic wealth management encompasses two key aspects: wealth creation and spending that consists of wealth accumulation, protection, and distribution. The creation of wealth is closely linked to the fulfillment of the objective of infāq (spending), which aims to promote maqashid shari'ah and advance justice and well-being in order to achieve falah (success and prosperity in the world and hereafter).

Abstract

The market mechanism is the tendency for supply and demand to equilibrate (i.e., prices move to the market-clearing level), so that there is neither excess demand nor excess supply, as introduced by Adam Smith (1729-1790) and later developed by the classical economists. In the literature of the history of Islamic economic thought, there have been many studies related to the issue of market mechanisms. Al-Ghazāli and Ibn Taimiyah argued that prices can influence the quantity demanded and supplied. Yahya bin Umar (828-901 AD) also discussed market mechanisms in his book Ahkām Assūq, which is the earliest work examining economic thought on hisbah. Therefore, this study aims to understand the market mechanism according to Yahya bin Umar's views as presented in his work Ahkām Assūq. The research methodology employed is a qualitative approach using literature review and content analysis. The findings of this study state that Yahya bin Umar's perspective on the market mechanism is the process of the intersection between demand and supply, which then determines the prices and volume of desired goods through the decree of Allah Swt.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of the distribution of zakat funds at Baitul Maal Tazkia.  The method used is Mixed Method (qualitative and quantitative), which primary data is generated from the observations, direct documentation, interviews with the Chairman or Staff of Baitul Māl Tazkia, and secondary data is from literature studies related to the topic.  The quantitative method that uses the 10th Zakat Core Principle measurement ratio is DCR (Disbursement Collection Ratio). Based on ZCP, the effectiveness of Baitul Maal Tazkia's distribution of zakat funds for 4 years of operation is 55% or is included in the Fairly Effective category (quite effective) where the Disbursement Collection Ratio (DCR) reaches 50-69 percent, with the amount collected during the 2017 to 2017 period.  2020 amounting to Rp 4,536,153,278.  The distribution amount for 2017 to 2020 is IDR 2,472,687,990

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of zakat on people's welfare in the Siak Regency. The research method used is mixed (mixed method). Data collection using interviews and questionnaires. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique, while data analysis was carried out using the National Zakat Index (IZN) approach. The results of this study indicate that the role of zakat on people's welfare in Siak Regency has a significant effect, this can be seen from the results of the index value of the micro dimension which ranges from 65%. In addition, zakat also has a significant effect on the social finance index, the development index, and also the community independence index in Siak Regency.

Abstract

This research is a renewal from previous research which combines variables from several studies with different objects, namely the z generation of Muslims in the Jabodetabek area. This study aims to determine whether factors such as lifestyle, social environment and Islamic financial literacy affect financial planning carried out by generation z who are already working and living in the Jabodetabek area. This research uses a quantitative approach and uses structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as a data analysis method. Data acquisition is obtained by distributing questionnaires in the form of google forms to generation z, especially those who are already working and domiciled in the Jabodetabek area. This study gives the results that: (1) lifestyle factors have a positive and significant effect on financial planning, (2) social environment factors have a positive and significant effect on financial planning, and (3) Islamic financial literacy factors have a positive and significant effect on financial planning the z generation of Muslims in the Jabodetabek area.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a view of Sharia Economics in looking at the monetary crisis in Indonesia. This research uses literature study methods from various sources such as books, journals, notes, and reports to understand the meaning, context, and complexity of the problems faced. The results indicate that the monetary crisis occurred due to unequal distribution of income and wealth, usury in the economic system, and the absence of a filter mechanism that was socially agreed upon in the economic system. Islam as a kaffah religion certainly has solutions and economic systems that are considered capable of providing a new atmosphere for the world economy. Where Islam offers a system that prioritizes transparency, honesty, and moral responsibility based on Sharia and religious law. Through Islamic economics, Islam offers four strategies. It includes a reorganization of the entire economic system with 4 mutually reinforcing elements: first, a socially agreed filter mechanism, second, a motivational system that encourages individuals to do what is best for themselves and their society, third, restructuring the economy as a whole with the aim of realizing maqasid despite the scarcity of resources; and fourth, a positive and strong role of government.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategies and alternative strategies of KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri using the BMC approach and SWOT Analysis. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a Business Model Canvas approach and SWOT analysis at KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri, Indonesia. The results of the study show that based on the SWOT Business Model Canvas analysis of KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri Indonesia, KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri had to add some segments, namely the customer/member segment, which increased to three, and the addition of new branches. Second, the value proposition adds to the ease of online access. Third, the channel segment adds to information technology. Fourth, maintaining relationships with members is very good through a direct approach, product value, and rewards. Fifth, the revenue stream segment adds new business units. Sixth, the main resources owned are very good, but it is necessary to improve human resource welfare and utilize alumni networks. Seventh, key activities need to include innovation and product development. Eighth, the main partnership needs to be supplemented by obtaining new partners, and the expansion of the cooperative business will further develop. Ninth, with the development of cooperatives, for business expansion, it is necessary to add costs for adding new branches and HR welfare costs. Thus, KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri Indonesia must dare to expand new branches on the strength of the cooperative business model canvas and its opportunities (rapid growth). All strategies produced in this study are related to one another, so cooperation from all parties in the KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri Indonesia is needed so that the nine business model canvasses can be run properly. If applied, the cooperative will be better.

Abstract

This research aims to identify digital zakat research trends in the modern era and identify the most widely discussed research topics. This research highlights the importance of digital zakat in increasing the transparency, efficiency and impact of zakat. In this research the author used a bibliometric analysis method with data in the form of research journals and other research publications related to digital zakat in the modern era published within the last 10 years. The results of this research also identify topics and keywords that are often discussed, collaboration of researchers involved in digital zakat research. The conclusions of this research confirm the relevance of digital zakat in the modern era and provide insight into research trends and researcher collaboration in this field.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate global sentiment towards halal investment, with a focus on the literature indexed in Scopus. Through sentiment analysis, this study aims to identify trends, positive and negative attitudes, as well as key factors that influence investors' perceptions of halal investment. As a Muslim-majority country, Indonesia should be the center of Islamic economic development in the world. The potential is also quite large, ranging from halal certification to concern for Muslim-friendly products, services that make it easier for Muslims to practice their faith, and much more. The strategy to achieve Indonesia's vision as the world's leading Islamic economic center is the strengthening of the halal value chain. This study examines halal investment as a component that is fundamental to the development of the halal industry in Indonesia. Based on the available literature, it was found that there is no sentiment research on this topic. The method used is descriptive statistical analysis with meta-analysis and sentiment analysis of secondary data in the form of metadata from 41 Scopus-indexed publications published in the last 25 years, starting in 1997 and ending in 2022. The results of sentiment analysis show that the response to halal investment developments tends to vary, with positive sentiment at 41.5%, negative sentiment at 17.1%, and neutral sentiment at 39.0%. The study also tries to identify negative responses to halal investments and offers ideas for future research.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the 7ps of the marketing mix (product, price, promotion, place, people, process & physical evidence on people's decisions to choosing sharia pegadaian as alternative solutions to financial problems: an empirical study on sharia pegadaian customers in Depok city. This study uses primary data in the form of a questionnaire containing statements related to the variables studied to sharia pegadaian customers as respondents. This study used Partial Least Square (PLS) Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis with a sampling technique using a purposive sampling method assisted by the statistical tool SmartPLS 4. The results of this study indicate that the variable product, price, promotion, process and Physical Evidence have a significant effect on people's decision to choose sharia pegadaian as a financial solution, while the place and people variables have no effect on people's decisions to choose sharia pegadaian as a financial solution in Depok City.
