Abstract

The problem of education financing is a crucial problem that is not least experienced by Islamic Education Institutions in Indonesia. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia Pekalongan City is one example of an Islamic Education Institution which in financing madrasah through the management system is said to be advanced. The purpose of this qualitative study is to describe the financing management paradigm in the quality of education in the institution. The study data were obtained through observation, structured interviews and documentation. After the data were collected, they were analyzed using the stages of reduction, presentation and verification. This study shows that the financing management paradigm in the quality of education at the State Aliyah Madrasah (MAN) Insan Cendekia Pekalongan City includes several aspects, including the preparation of the madrasah revenue and expenditure budget plan through meetings and deliberations with the principles of togetherness and democracy. Then, direct financing is issued by the madrasah to support the implementation of education. Direct costs in madrasah are used to fulfil madrasah routine expenses and non-routine madrasah expenses. Furthermore, the evaluation of financing is done through supervision and inspection. This study confirms that it is also important for the financing management paradigm of faith-based educational institutions to be holistic and measurable.

Abstract

The practice of fidyah is generally performed during the month of Ramadan according to the views of the scholars of the school of thought, but it can also be performed after the month of Ramadan. The criteria for those who fulfill fidyah also have stipulations, namely: the elderly, the severely ill, and pregnant and nursing mothers. The uniqueness that occurs in Barumun society is that fidyah is fulfilled by the heirs when the deceased passes away. This research discusses the practice of fidyah carried out by the Barumun community using the field research method and a descriptive-analytical approach. The results of this study indicate that the practice of fidyah among the Barumun community historically originates from Sheikh Ahmad Zein Hasibuan, who propagated this practice in his teachings. However, what Ahmad Zein explained was the practice of fidyah for fasting, not fidyah for prayer. Therefore, according to Islamic law, this practice is considered permissible by some muallim in Barumun sub-district. This research confirms that the practice of Islamic law can experience theoretical and practical developments along with the development of the literacy construction of Muslim religiosity.

Abstract

This research examines the urgent need for integrating Islamic thought with scientific knowledge within educational leadership, particularly in Islamic educational institutions. Employing a qualitative research design, the study identifies challenges and opportunities in implementing interdisciplinary curricula, proposes a comprehensive model of educational leadership, and provides practical implications for educators. Educational institutions can foster responsible citizenship and social responsibility by equipping students with the tools to navigate complex moral landscapes. Data were collected through interviews with educational leaders, revealing key challenges such as resistance to change, limited resources and systemic barriers. However, the findings highlight significant opportunities for enhancing student engagement and critical thinking through interdisciplinary approaches. The conclusions drawn from this study advocate for educational frameworks that promote academic excellence and foster ethical and moral development. This research contributes to the discourse on educational reform by offering actionable strategies for curriculum design, teacher training, and community collaboration. Ultimately, this work advocates for a holistic educational framework that aligns with Islamic values while responding to the demands of a globalised world.

Abstract

This study explores the comparative implementation (substance, form, and interpretation) of Islamic family regulation in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia through the lens of Maqāṣid al-Sharī’ah. This research paper aims to reveal how the two countries differ in presenting the normativity (in terms of substance, form, and interpretation) of the regulation. This study uses primary sources from legal documents and academic literature, as well as qualitative data. In-depth analysis shows that the flexibility and rigidity of regulation in both countries are based on the principles of justice and social protection, although the methods of manifestation are different. The main findings indicate that although Saudi Arabia is known for its strict regulation, there is a courtroom that considers individual conditions, while Indonesia shows legal initiatives to address social challenges. The novelty of this study lies in the emphasis that Islamic regulation can adapt to contemporary contexts without losing the essence of Sharī’ah despite geographical differences. Limitations of the study include the lack of detailed field case studies, prompting further research directions to link law to social manifestations directly. Suggestions for further research include deeper qualitative analysis of the application of law in more diverse social contexts. This research adds a new dimension to the study of Islamic law as a dynamic and responsive, yet responsible, instrument.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the weton tradition in determining the auspicious day for marriage in Javanese Muslims society, particularly in Arso IX, Papua Province, and its impact on the social and spiritual life of the community. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results show that the weton tradition has a deep philosophical value, serves as a guide in determining auspicious days, and strengthens cultural identity and social ties among the community. From a social perspective, the use of weton calculation in marriage can be understood as the parents' desire to choose the best partner for their children. The wedding day carried out based on weton calculations is still considered valid as long as it fulfils the pillars and conditions stipulated in Islamic law, without violating the principles of the Islamic religion. This research confirms the importance of dialog between religious teachings and traditional practices in preserving the harmonious relationship between religious social practices and lokan cultural wisdom.
