Abstract

This research is aimed at studying the role of the Muhammadiyah Association in global relationships based on slogan, watchwords, plans, and Islamic activities. This study uses a communication and media approach as an effort to discuss a Muhammadiyah organization in the era of globalization. The perspective used in this study is the perspective of "globalization" carried by Gill Branston and Roy Stafford with an analysis of the steps of cultural imperialism, free market and global analysis. This research proves that the higher the level of Muhammadiyah's active involvement and translation in socializing and contributing at the global level makes the position and role of this International Non-Government Organization proof and is obtained by many people.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the complex process of integration and collaboration between the Kingdom of Buleleng, Hinduism and Islam, which is evident in the gate design of the Jami' Singaraja Grand Mosque. The paper uses a logical and concise structure that includes common academic sections, ensuring a clear and necessary flow of information and causal relationships between statements. It uses appropriate vocabulary for the particular subject and adheres to grammatical correctness, conventional structure, clear and logical structure, and balanced judgment. The objective was achieved by using three methods, namely Aditya Wardana's gate architecture method examines the aesthetic nuances and significance of the extrinsic layers associated with the construction of the gate under study, the semiotic method proposed by Riffaterre establishes the implied meaning of the physical form of the gate in question and the ideological method is used to analyze the results of the first two methods to provide a more comprehensive interpretation of the explicit and implied meanings. This study concludes that the gate architecture of the Jami' Singaraja Grand Mosque contributes to the negotiation between environmental sensitivity and the ethics of cultural beauty. This can be observed through three findings a symbol of social status that values responsible pluralism, the obligation to bring joy, maintain expressive values, and dissolve negative elements, a reminder of the guidelines of social life, inner purity, and psychological wisdom; and an ideology of togetherness for the Muslim profile that must pay attention to inclusive personality, mass mobilization for social care, and reproduction of individual piety.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to uncover the management model and organizational culture of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Java. The study is based on ethnographic categories, namely urban and rural Islamic boarding schools, institutional system image categories, namely modern and traditional Islamic boarding schools. The research methodology involves library research for data sources and collection, and qualitative research for data analysis. The aim of using Lucia Mudiningtias' (2022) Islamic Boarding School Integration Management theory is to analyse internal capability indicators, such as finance, human resources, and organisational professionalism. Additionally, Muhammad Thoyib's (2018) theory of Contemporary Multicultural Islamic Education is used to analyse external capabilities, including community relations and the degree of nationalism. This research draws two conclusions, including: 1) Urban, rural, modern and traditional Islamic boarding schools in Java have the potential to improve and develop finances, risk management, cooperatives, work ethic, and increase the competence of educational staff; and 2) The text discusses urban, rural, modern, and traditional Islamic boarding schools in Java, focusing on their interaction with local communities, decision-making inefficiencies, cases of istiqāmah-qanā'ah in work, and the lack of career paths for teaching staff. Additionally, external elements such as the community can be involved, and teaching staff can be delegated to various educational and social services in the surrounding community. Annual periodic training, managerial counseling, and human resource empowerment for ustadz and ustadzah can also be implemented.

Abstract

This research paper aims to analyze innovative learning strategies for Arabic language research methodology in the pandemic era, which requires students to be able to write Student Article Plans (RAM) based on the offer of Selected Journal Article Titles (AJP) presented by the course lecturer. This research paper is a "qualitative research" as well as a classroom action research that combines the dominance of "literature research" and "field research". The method used in this research paper is "Learning by Doing and Works in Learning and Teaching" to analyze the progressiveness and evaluate both. This paper succeeded in discovering the ability of eleven students to write RAM from the title, introduction subchapter to the method subchapter, so that they became semi-final papers. Another finding in this research paper is the first experience of students in writing RAM-based papers, which are compiled and printed in the form of a compilation book to evaluate their academic performance in the Arabic Language Research Methodology course; and academic results as materials for accreditation of majors or study programs.

Abstract

This research is rooted in a profound appreciation for the rich literary heritage of Arab society from the past, which we seek to revive in the present. The primary objective of this study is to delve into the values, messages, and ideologies conveyed by the novelist 'Alī Badr through his novels: 'Bābā Sārtir' (2001), 'Shitā'u al-'Āilah' (2002), and 'al-Walīmah al-'Āriyah' (2004), as these literary works engage in global discourse. This study applies two approaches: the international relations perspective as the foundation for fostering global interconnectedness and the media perspective, which evaluates the extent to which Arabic novels influence and shape the universal discourse of humanity. The analysis within the international relations framework, utilizing Michael Barnett's constructivist perspective, seeks to uncover the dynamics of social interactions and the nuanced dimensions of power. This examination aims to understand the implications of Arab novelists' engagement with their European counterparts. The analysis within the media approach, using Gill Branston and Roy Stafford's globalization perspective, aims to capture global media narratives that encapsulate their evaluation of the presence and impact of 'Ali Badr's novels. This research concludes that the involvement of 'Alī Badr and his works in the European literary landscape not only serves as a platform for the contestation of global ideas depicted in his novels but also garners widespread global acclaim, as evidenced by numerous awards.

Abstract

The study aims to reveal the intricate process of integration and collaboration between the Kingdom of Buleleng, Hinduism and Islam, evident in the Great Mosque of Jami' Singaraja gate's design. The paper employs a logical and concise structure that includes common academic sections, ensuring clear and necessary information flow and causal connections between statements. The language is objective, value-neutral, and free from biased, emotional or ornamental language, keeping a formal register throughout. The research employs precise subject-specific vocabulary and adheres to grammatical correctness, conventional structure, clear and logical structure, and balanced assessment. The aim was achieved using three methods: first, the Aditya Wardana gate architectural method examined the aesthetic nuances and significance of the extrinsic layers connected to the construction of the gate under study; second, the semiotic method proposed by Riffaterre established the implied meanings of the physical form of the gate in question; and third, the ideological method was used to analyze the results of the first two methods to provide a more comprehensive interpretation of the explicit and implied meanings. This study concludes that the gate architecture of the Great Mosque of Jami' Singaraja contributes to the negotiation between environmental sensitivity and cultural beautification ethics. This can be observed through three findings: a) a symbol of social status that values responsible pluralism, the obligation to present joy, maintaining expressive values, and dissolving negative elements; b) a reminder of guidelines for social life, inner purity, and psychological wisdom; and c) an ideology of togetherness for the Muslim profile, which must pay attention to inclusive personality, mass mobilization for social care, and the reproduction of individual piety.

Abstract

This study focuses on the possible social impacts of Islamic family law on women's empowerment in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, with the aim of exploring the interaction between Islamic feminist theory, Pierre Bourdieu's structuralism, and Lawrence Friedman's legal socialization theory. The data collection method was carried out through documentation analysis and in-depth literature study, covering primary sources such as family law laws and regulations. The data collected were analyzed using a qualitative approach that allows for the identification of patterns, themes, and trends that are relevant in predicting the implementation of the law in both countries. The findings show a significant difference between the normativity that describes legal practice and social reality, where legal norms are often not in line with the conditions faced by women in everyday life. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for more inclusive legal reforms and public education on women's rights as a step towards achieving better gender equality. The contribution of this study promises a novel aspect, namely the integration of different theories to gain a more comprehensive understanding. Several limitations were also found in the data collection that indicate the need for further research, especially involving women's perspectives and other socio-economic, religious, political, and educational factors in the context of family law. Suggestions for future research include exploring cross-national collaboration to broaden understanding of Islamic law and its impact on women's empowerment globally.

Abstract

This research paper aims to construct a theoretical-practical comprehension of Arabic as a means of perceiving the world. It is based on the content and principles of numerous previous dissertations. The paper's methodology employs qualitative and library research methods. During the analytical process, the theory of al-'Arabiyyah ka Nāfidhah 'alā al-Āyāt al-Kauniyyah (The Arabic language as a window on the cosmic verses), proposed by 'Alī 'Abd al-Mun'im al-Miṣriyy, is utilized. The three primary sources utilized include: 1) Semantik Bahasa Arab dalam Pandangan Al-Anbārī: Kajian Makna al-Taḍād di dalam Alquran by Mahyudin Ritonga (2013); 2) Politik Pendidikan Bahasa Arab di Perguruan Tinggi: Analisis Wacana atas Program Studi Bahasa Arab UIN Jakarta dan UI by Mauidlotun Nisa' (2018); and 3) Sastra dan Nasionalisme: Studi atas Puisi-puisi Mahjar 'Alī Aḥmad Bākathīr by Minatur Rokhim (2021). The study concludes that taking into account local and national environmental needs and interests can transform Arabic language knowledge into a capital asset for scientific, applied, and commercial purposes, thereby contributing to global unification.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Fiqh al-Mu’āmalāt into the Madrasah Aliyah curriculum through the lens of Islamic economic theory, entrepreneurship education, and Islamic financial literacy. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of the existing curriculum and identify areas for improvement. Data collection methods include questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, analyzed using data reconciliation, presentation, and construction approaches. The primary data source consists of 112 Madrasah Aliyah students from Bali and Jakarta. The findings reveal a discrepancy between students' awareness of the importance of Fiqh al-Mu’āmalāt (78.6% considered it useful) and its practical implementation in the curriculum, particularly in grades XI–XII. Analysis of the Grade X Fiqh textbooks indicates that while the content is comprehensive, it lacks applicability to real-world contexts. These findings suggest the need for curriculum restructuring to ensure the sustainable integration of Fiqh al-Mu’āmalāt. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of Fiqh al-Mu’āmalāt instruction by highlighting the relationship between theoretical knowledge and students' economic preparedness. However, its limitations include a restricted geographic scope and a focus on students' perceptions. Future research should incorporate cross-country longitudinal and comparative studies, as well as experimental research on effective Fiqh al-Mu’āmalāt teaching methodologies to enhance students’ practical financial and entrepreneurial competencies

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the readiness, attitudes, knowledge, and skills of lecturers in using artificial intelligence (AI) and electronic resources (ER) to enhance academic capacity. Understanding this adoption level is crucial for effectively integrating AI and ER into educational practices. In addition, this study contributes both theoretically and practically to digital scholarship by enhancing digital adoption and competence in education. This mixed-method study captured individual experiences and statistical trends related to digital scholarship in higher education. The qualitative method includes interviews, while the quantitative method involves survey questionnaires. The study focuses on lecturers from Islamic higher education institutions (IHEIs) in Indonesia. The results indicate that while lecturers rarely use AI and ES, they recognize the potential of digital technology in academic tasks. Despite limited exposure to AI and ER, IHEI lecturers in Indonesia can define these technologies accurately. Most lecturers actively update their knowledge and consider bias and ethical aspects in AI and ES usage. Regarding skills, over 60% of respondents reported proficiency in using AI and ES, suggesting a growing level of digital competence. These findings suggest that while many IHEI lecturers in Indonesia are prepared to adopt AI and ER, further support may be needed to ensure widespread acceptance.
