Abstract

This study is not about the evolution of Lean or Green Practices but the latest developments of its integration in positive and negative ways and their main classification, benefits, and limitations. We critically assess previous research from various theoretical perspectives in the lean-green domain. Review is conducted after the COVID-19 pandemic. It guides significant awareness related to ecological and environmental issues helping the organizations, governments, and other stakeholders in economic recovery and environmental security and the conservation of natural resources. We use the five-criteria approach for conducting the literature review. Time chosen for this systematic literature review is 2010 to 2021. 61 research articles used to analyze and explore the impact of integrated lean-green concepts and ultimately its results on triple bottom line (TBL) performance of the organizations. Comprehensive results show that integrated lean-green approaches have significant impact on a firm's sustainability performance, although few research studies have negative results and related trade-offs as well. Findings and conclusions are beneficial for researchers, organizations, governments, and other stakeholders because this paper has the critical and comprehensive explanation of different classifications, theoretical perspectives, benefits, limitations, and related future directions of lean-green integration. As this study is conducted after the COVID-19 pandemic, this review guides significant awareness related to the environment for economic recovery and environmental security as well as the conservation of natural resources.

Abstract

This study examines the role of followers’ characteristics and proactive followership behavior in leaders’ perceptions and attitudes. We tested that politically skilled followers are proactive in their followership behavior; followers’ proactive behavior, in turn, engenders their leaders’ perception of followers’ support. Further, it is proposed that proactive followership and perceived follower support con-construct dyadic trust between leader and follower. It is a quantitative study. We conducted two self-administered surveys with a sample of 229 (leader-follower dyads) from Pakistan organizations to test the proposed relationships. Overall, we find support for the followership theory. Results suggest that followers’ political skill impacts the followers’ proactive behavior, which becomes a source to improve the leaders’ perception of followers' support. Moreover, the results confirm that the followers’ proactivity combined with perceived followers’ support and con-construct dyadic trust between followers and leaders. Very few research studies investigate leadership outcomes resulting from followers’ behavior. Understanding followers’ role in effective leadership outcomes can provide us with uniquevisions on the drivers of follower behaviors concerning their leaders. Therefore, this study investigates an essential aspect of the leadership process, currently missing in recent research.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between Depression, Stress and Anxiety with Mental Health among Teachers. Depression, Stress, Anxiety Scale (21 item) was used to collect the information from the participants developed by Lovibond and Lovibond (1995), Secondly, Mental Health Index Scale was used to study mental health of teacher developed by Veit and Ware (1983). Sample was comprised of 200 participants from different schools, colleges (government, private) and University of Haripur. Data was collected through convenience sampling technique with door to door survey and hypotheses were analyzed by using t test, descriptive statics, and Pearson correlation. Hypothesis of this study were supported. According to the current study, mental health and its sub-dimensions such as life satisfaction, psychological wellbeing was negatively correlated with depression, anxiety and stress. Likewise mental health and its sub dimensions such as loss of behavior and psychological distress were positively related with stress. Female instructors were more likely than male teachers to feel depression anxiety and stress which turnout to have negative impact on their mental health. The current study aimed to see if teachers' greater rates of depression, anxiety, and stress are linked to reports of mental health. The current study's findings may help psychologists and administrators better understand the requirements of the teacher population by identifying the levels and impacts of depression, anxiety, and stress on teachers. Possible interventions and policy changes may, in turn, reduce teacher burnout and increase teacher mental health status as well as improvements of students’ performance.

This study examines the impact of drama on its audiences' in the context of Parasocial Interaction (PSI). A case study of Ertugrul Ghazi has been taken in this regard as this drama, at the time of research, got the highest viewer ship in Pakistan. This paper revisited parasocial interaction theory and scrutinized PSI between a viewer and the drama character. The paper study the PSI between Facebook group members and drama characters. Qualitative content analysis has been used to explore PSI between social media users (who watch drama series and are also active on Facebook groups for drama series) and drama characters. The themes have been generated and categorized under the level of motivations for PSI e.g., physical, social, and task attraction, and new dimensions for PSI have been explored.

Abstract

Education is the fundamental source that not only enhances knowledge but also builds the confidence of an individual. The development of any country utterly depends on its educational system, but unfortunately, the literacy ratio of education is low in Pakistan compared to other countries in Asia. The present study explores the educational disparity against girls based on gender in Pakistan. Geographically Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan and is instilled with the tribal system. The people of Balochistan strongly follow their cultural values strictly, where the male members of the society are only considered the head of their families. In patriarchal societies, males are authoritative and have the power of decisions over their women. In Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtoon Khaw, females are restricted merely to staying inside the house and strictly prohibited from taking their life’s decisions. Furthermore, the women are deprived of their rights. Education is the source of self-development and helps to progress in the country. The focus of this study is to highlight the educational discrimination against girls. The nature of the study is quantitative, and the respondents were selected from (Arts faculty) of all the degree colleges of Quetta city (capital of Baluchistan) through probability simple random sampling. The sample size was approximately 200 students from all degree colleges. Data were analyzed by the SPSS (Statistical package for social sciences). The p-value of .003 shows the relationship between gender discrimination and educational opportunities. Finally, the results demonstrated that families are not serious and are not paying any concentration on girls’ education. Girls do not have facilities at the family level, and the access to education for girls is not easy due to males’ superiority.

Abstract

In the social sciences, assessment of societal attitudes toward animals’ rights is very important to understand the relationship between science and the normative pattern of society. In the present study, a survey was carried out to determine the knowledge and attitude of Pakistani university students toward animal suffering and rights. By reviewing existing literature, limited studies were carried out in Pakistan. A random sampling technique was used in which an online cross-sectional study was conducted, and 200 respondent students participated in the survey from different public-sector universities in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. The data was collected through a web-based questionnaire. The questions were designed to explain the respondents' views toward animals' suffering and rights while keeping in view the cultural and religious perspectives. Study results demonstrated that a surprising majority of students, including ladies and men (55% p 0.05), were not well aware of animal rights. About 49.4% of respondents did not consider it an injustice, while 51.8% considered it right to kill the animals to achieve trophies. Furthermore, it has been observed that about 84% (p 0.05) were in favor of the adoption of pets. The level of attitudes toward animal care varies concerning age, education, and residency in rural or urban areas; however, the trend remains equal in each gender. In short, students do not know about animal rights. Considering how important animal rights are, this study showed that the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan needs to hold workshops and awareness campaigns in universities to teach students about animal rights and how to protect them.

Abstract

Lust and loyalty are interlinked concepts that have a history as old as that of human beings. Human psychology and emotions have gone through different phases of development, yet these two emotions still exist. Literature being the true depiction of human life is full of stories of the human lust for power and search for loyalty. English writers such as William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlow, and Francis Bacon have highlighted these concepts in their literary oeuvre. These writers have mentioned dimensions of these concepts that are instrumental in laying out the specific instinctual flaws and follies of human beings. This research paper investigates these human characteristics being portrayed through fictionalized and dramatized accounts in the oral sources of literature in Sargodha. The oral sources of literature in Sargodha are interpreted for the exploration of the role of both male and female characters and their emotions in ancient Punjab. The research is qualitative in nature, and the primary source of oral data is collected in a recorded form. Moreover, different genre-specific books, research articles, and online resources have been consulted for the purpose of analysis and discussion. The story of Justice in Jungle is primarily documented and translated into English by the researcher. The findings show that the basic innate potentialities of different cultures and their inhabitants remain unaltered despite the literal uniqueness of the specific regions. The research is innovative in the way that it explores the universal human traits in the documented oral story and thus serves to authenticate the socio-cultural purview of the local oral literature of Pakistan.
