Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of parents in instilling the habits of obligatory prayer, reading the Qur'an, and fasting during Ramadan in 10-year-old children within the family environment. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation of parents of 10-year-old children. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that parents have a very important role in forming children's worship habits through role models, habituation, mentoring, supervision, and motivation. Modeling is done by providing direct examples in carrying out worship, while habituation is done through routine worship implementation in daily life. Assistance is provided when children learn to read the Qur'an and perform worship, while supervision and motivation are carried out to maintain children's consistency in carrying out worship. Worship habits instilled include obligatory prayer, reading the Qur'an, and fasting during Ramadan. The research findings indicate that active parental involvement and a religious family environment are important factors in shaping children's religious character from an early age. Thus, the family has a strategic role in instilling religious values and forming sustainable worship habits in children.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed educational systems worldwide, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). As one of Indonesia’s oldest Islamic educational institutions, pesantren are required to adapt to technological advancements while preserving their distinctive educational values and identity. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in pesantren education and to formulate strategies for maintaining pesantren identity in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from scientific journals, books, government regulations, and relevant academic publications discussing digital transformation, Islamic education, and pesantren development. The findings reveal that digital transformation provides substantial opportunities for pesantren, including wider access to learning resources, innovation in educational methods, strengthening digital da'wah, and improving institutional management. However, several challenges emerge, such as digital literacy disparities, weakening traditional teacher-student relationships, erosion of pesantren values, and disruption of religious authority due to unrestricted access to online information. To address these challenges, pesantren need to implement adaptive and integrative strategies through strengthening Islamic character education, developing Islamic digital literacy, integrating technology into learning while maintaining traditional values, enhancing the role of kiai as educational leaders, and implementing hybrid curricula that combine classical Islamic sciences with digital competencies. This study concludes that digital transformation and the preservation of pesantren identity are not contradictory goals but can be harmonized through value-based educational innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to comparatively analyze experimental research designs, namely Pre-Experimental Design, Quasi Experimental Design, and True Experimental Design, in the development of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) research. The method employed is a library research approach using descriptive-comparative analysis of relevant books, scientific articles, and academic references. The analysis focuses on the characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, validity levels, and applications of each experimental design in IRE research. The findings indicate that Pre-Experimental Design is suitable for preliminary studies with limited control over variables, although it has low internal validity. Quasi Experimental Design provides a balance between research control and real educational settings, making it widely used in educational research. Meanwhile, True Experimental Design offers the highest level of internal validity through the implementation of randomization and strict control groups. In conclusion, the selection of an experimental design in Islamic Religious Education research should be adjusted to research objectives, participant conditions, and available resources in order to produce valid, reliable, and meaningful findings for the advancement of IRE studies.
