Abstract

Drug management is a major factor in supporting the patient's recovery rate. Drug management can run well if supported by the ability of existing resources, both in pharmacies, health centers, and hospitals. Narcotics, psychotropic drugs and precursors can affect the nervous system and legally their circulation has been regulated in legislation. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2015, the management of narcotic drugs, psychotropic drugs and precursors consists of circulation, storage, destruction, and recording and reporting. This study aims to determine the drug management process at the Stella Maris Makassar Hospital Pharmacy. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results of this study are in the process of circulation, destruction, and recording and reporting at the Stella Maris Makassar Hospital Pharmacy according to the guttman scale obtained a percentage of 100% with a very good scale. However, in the storage process there are still some discrepancies so that the percentage obtained is 85%. This has met the applicable regulatory standards in Indonesia and is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 3 of 2015.

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension sufferers in Indonesia and even in the world continues to increase, causing an crease in the number of prescriptions for antihypertensive meds in hospitals and also the possibility of an increase in errors in prescribing antihypertensive cure This study aims to examine the completeness of antihypertensive as medicine prescriptions including administrative reviews, pharmaceutical studies, and clinical studies in outpatients from October to December 2022 at the Lapatarai Hospital, Barru District. The method in this research is descriptive with the type of research retrospective. From this study, it was found that there were 99 prescription sheets containing antihypertensive meds. The results of the assessment of the study showed that 100% of the prescriptions did not include the patient's address, the patient's weight, the patient's height, the patient's allergy history and the doctor's SIP number. In the pharmaceutical study, it was found that 100% of the prescriptions wrote down the dosage form, dosage strength, and instructions for using the medicine. With the majority of antihypertensive meds prescribed in tablet dosage forms. In terms of clinical requirements, it was found that the prescriptions were not duplicated and there were 95,38% of prescriptions that had conection between antihypertensive as medicine recipe and other meds supplies. The results of this study show a discrepancy between the review profile of antihypertensive as medicine recipe at the Lapatarai general hospital by standard regulations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia's biodiversity that exists around its community environment has been used for generations as a food and medicinal ingredient, one of which is temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza.). Temulawak is used as a raw material for herbal aches and pains because it is efficacious to help reduce or eliminate inflammatory diseases in the body such as arthritis. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of curcuma content in several aching and rheumatic herbs using an experimental design. The method used was a qualitative test using thin layer chromatography (TLC) with n-hexane -acetone as the mobile phase (6:4). The results of TLC observations at 254 nm and 366 nm UV lamps showed yellow spots on the comparator temulawak simplicia and the Rf value of the curcuma simplicia was 0.690. The results of the identification of the five samples of herbal medicine stiff and sore by TLC proved to contain temulawak simplicia.

Abstract

Management of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices and medical consumables is a continuous process starting from the selection, planning, needs, procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, destruction, withdrawal, control and administration needed for pharmaceutical service activities. This study aims to find out about the management system of drug preparations and also medical devices used in serving the community. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach using interview, observation, and document review methods. The result of this study is that there is still a lack of procedures carried out, especially in the storage section which results in damage to drug stocks due to the accumulation of arbitrary goods. In accordance with the standardization, namely, the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 74 of 2016, the management of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices and consumables at the Tulehu Health Center.

Abstract

Antioxidants are defined as inhibitors that work to inhibit oxidation by reacting with reactive free radicals to form stable unreactive free radicals. Antioxidants are substances that can delay, slow down and prevent the oxidation process or neutralize free radicals. Plantain peel contains several metabolite compounds that have the potential to have antioxidant activity such as saponins, polyphenols and tannins, flavonoids and terpenoids. Banana peel extract has high antioxidant activity. The methanol extract of banana peels was higher in total flavonoids and phenolics compared to the n-hexane extract of banana peels. The aim of this research was to test the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of plantain peel using the FRAP (Ferrc Reduxing Antioxidant Power) method. The extraction method for plantain peel uses the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. The ethanol extract of plantain peel was then added with several FRAP reagents then measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 720 nm with quercetin as a comparison and the results of the quercetin test obtained a linearity equation y = 0.0207x + 0.0114 with a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.9904. The results showed that the ethanol extract of plantain peel had antioxidant activity of 26.5828 mgQE/g extract.

Abstract

Health problems that often occur in Indonesia are problems related to diseases caused by free radicals. The presence of free radicals can trigger damage to cells and can disrupt the body's immune system. The immune system can be enhanced or suppressed, one way is by administering immunomodulators. Several natural compounds have the ability to increase immune system activity, including flavonoids, curcumin, limonoids, vitamin C, vitamin E and catechins. Phenolic components such as flavonoids and polyphenols can improve the immune system by increasing Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and lymphocyte proliferation. Based on the many health problems that arise in Indonesia due to the presence of free radicals, the aim of the research is to conduct a literature review on the mechanism of action of herbal plants as immunomodulators and the methods used to determine the mechanism of action of natural immunomodulators. The method used to review this article is to carry out an online search process using several search engines such as PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest and Schoolar. Based on reference studies, several herbal plant extracts act as immunomodulators with different activities such as increasing the activity of Immunoglobulin M (IgM), reducing the number of leukocytes, stimulating the body's immunity with flavonoid content and increasing the ability of phagocytosis.
