Abstract

ABSTRACT ? Aims of this research are to know the influence of  Card Sort With Mind Mapping  learning strategies toward student?s  achievement in studying biology of  SMA N Banyudono Boyolali. This research was quasi experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was designed using posttest only randomized control group by using the experimental classes (application of Card Sort with Mind Mapping  strategy) and control classes (conventional learning). Population studies are all students of SMA N Banyudono Boyolali  in academic year 2011/2012. Sampling techniques with cluster random sampling, so chosen XI IPA 1 as the experiment class and XI IPA 2 as the control class. Data was collected using questionnaire, essay test, observation sheet, and document. The data were analyzed by t-test. The conclusion of this research were science process skills was  significantly affected by Card Sort  with Mind Mapping  and  the application of  Card Sort  with Mind Mapping  has taken effect on student?s cognitive and psychomotor, affective achievement in studying biology of SMA N Banyudono Boyolali. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The  research is classroom action research. The aim is to improve class climate and student?s learning motivation in class X-1 of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta by integrating ICT media into collaborative learning approach  that implemented in biology learning  process.  This act is based on the biology learning process observation  in class X-1 where   researcher found some learning problems. They are class  climate  and  student?s  learning motivation. Based on literatures  study, we give solution to improve them by integrating ICT media into collaborative learning approach.  Main data  is  collected from questioner  and    observation. While additional data is taken from interview, documentation, and test. Validation data uses triangulation and expert team. The act of research consists  of two cycles. Research target is 65% for class climate and 60% for student?s learning  motivation. The result of cycle  1 describes that generally the research target is accomplished not optimally. Percentage of class climate is 65,54% and student?s learning motivation  is 72,58%. The result of cycle  2 describes that generally the research target is accomplished optimally.  Percentage of class  climate  is  73,65%  and  student?s learning motivation is 77,30%. This cycle stopped here because targets accomplished optimally. Class climate and student?s learning motivation increase well.  This learning approach can improve targets because it?s syntax  support student?s  interaction and  interest. The conclusion of this research describes that integration ICT media into collaborative learning approach can improve  class climate and student?s learning motivation in class X-1 of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research are to ascertain: 1) the influence of Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model toward science process skills, 2) the influence of academic ability toward science process skills, 3) the interaction between Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model and academic ability toward science process skills. The research was quasi experiment research. The research was designed using pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Experimental group applied Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model. Control group applied Conventional model. The populations of this research were all of 10th  degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The samples of this research were the students of X-1 as experiment group and X-3 as control group. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data was collected essay test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by Anacova. The research concluded that 1) application of Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model had significant effect toward science process skill, 2) the academic ability didn?t has significant effect toward science process skill, 3) there was not interaction between Guided Inquiry combined Cooperative Jigsaw model and academic ability toward science process skills. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This  research aimed for  improving studentachievementin learning process on Biology by implementation of  Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review  (SQ3R) strategy of  grade XI  IPA  2 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono academic years 2011 / 2012.  This research is aclassroom  action research that was included 2 cycles of action. Each cycles consisting of 4 phase which areplanning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were students grade XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudonoacademic years 2011  / 2012.  Source  of  data  derived  from  the questionnaire, observation,  test  and interview. Technical analysis of data was using descriptive analysis. Data validation was using methods triangulation. The results of this research showed that the implementation  Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review  (SQ3R)  strategy  could improve  student achievement  in learning process on Biology  of  grade XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudonoacademic years 2011 / 2012.  The  average  percentage based on questionnaire  student  achievement of  psychomotorindicators was  75,49% forCycle Iand  80,02%  forCycle II(worked up  4,53%).  The average  percentage based on  questionnaire  student  achievement of  affective  indicators was  69,48% forCycle Iand  78,09%  forCycle II  (worked up  8,61%).  The average  percentage based on observation student achievement of psychomotor  indicators for Cycle I was 57,81% and 67,60% forCycle II (worked up 9,79%). The average percentage based on observation student achievement of affective   indicators for Cycle I was 55,35% and  63,76%  forCycle II  (worked up  8,41%).  The average  percentage student  achievement of cognitivebased on evaluation test  for Cycle I  was 74,84and   85,63for Cycle II (worked up   10,79).Based on the result could be conclude that  implementation  of  Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R)  strategy  had improvedstudent achievement  in learning process on Biologyof grade XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of the research was to know the influence of Group Investigation type (GI) of cooperative learning model toward science process skill and biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012. The methodology of the research was quasi-experimental with quantitative approach. The research designs were post-test only control group by using experimental class (the implementation of Group Investigation (GI) of cooperative learning model) and control class (conventional learning). The population of this research is all of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in 2011/2012 academic year. The  sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique, with the result that XB  class as experimental group and XA class as control group. The technique of collecting data used test, observation paper and the school document. The data was analyzed by using t-test. This research concluded that Group Investigation type (GI) of cooperative learning model was significantly effective toward science process skill and biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research is improve quality of biology learning for teacher?s performance, conditioning class, student science attitude in class, and student motivation of achievement in student class X 7 in 2nd senior high school of Sukoharjo. The research is classroom action research. The steps of research include planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The collecting data of research uses questionnaire, observation, and interview. Validation data uses triangulation of methods and triangulation of observers. The research uses descriptive as analytic data. The acts of research are consists of three cycles. The result in cycles I describes that generally the research target is not achieve yet that showed teacher?s performance indicators are 86,46%, conditioning class indicators are 62,14%, science attitude of students in class are 62,86%, and motivation of achievement in students are 53,33%. The result in cycles II describes that the research target is not achieve yet optimally that showed teacher?s performance indicators are 100%, conditioning class indicators are 67,86%, science attitude of students in class are 63,81%, and motivation of achievement in students are 65,40%. The result in cycles III describes that the research target is completely achieve and showed that teacher?s performance indicators are 100%, conditioning class indicators are 75,71%, science attitude of students in class are 75,72%, and motivation of achievement in students are 79,05%. Cycles stopped in cycles III because the research target is achieve. The conclusion of this research describes that the implementation of Class-Wide Peer Tutoring learning model with drew story medium can improve quality of biology learning for teacher?s performance, conditioning class, science attitude of student, and motivation of achievement in student of class X 7 in 2nd senior high school of Sukoharjo. Guided Discovery learning method was independent variables and science skill process was dependent variable. Student of class X of SMA Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali as a population. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This  research  aims  to  determine the effect of  PBL  learning model  of problem-solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes biology class VII students of SMP Negeri  14  Surakarta. PBL  model  is a model  of learning  by  forcing students  to  practical  problems  or  as a  foothold  in  learning,  in other words, students learn  through  the problems. Given the  problems  the students  are challenged  to  find  / search for a solution of  real world problems can be resolved as a group  (in collaboration). The cooperation will enable students  in learning  to improve problem-solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes. This research is a  Quasi  Experimental  research  design  using a  pretest-postest Control Group. Population is all students in grade VII Junior High School 14 Surakarta with cluster random sampling technique using sampling. Aspects of data collection techniques and problem-solving skills using the cognitive learning outcomes tests are analyzed using statistical tests anacova. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research purposed to know the influence of learning  PBI+STAD towards higher level of social and thinking skill of 10th  grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu school year 2011/2012.  PBI+STAD  are combined learning models of syntax PBI on STAD. This research is a  quasi experimental  research using  Posttest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable was the model of PBI+STAD learning. The dependent variable is the higher order thinking and social skill of students. General population is all 10th  grade students from second semester in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar school year 2011/2012. The sampling technique used Cluster random Sampling. Samples in this research are class X-2 as an experiment class using a model of PBI+STAD and the class X-7 as a control class using models of learning that vary with lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The technique of data collection of higher order thinking skill used technique test. The measurement of social skill used a questionnaire.  Prerequisite test analysis consisted of normality test and homogeneity test. Normality test was done with Kolmogorov Smirnov method. Normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed. Homogeneity test applied Levene?s Test. The result showed that all groups are homogeneous. Data analysis technique for testing of hypothesis in this research is t-test with the aid of SPSS program version 16 significance level 5%. The result showed that higher order thinking are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 0.104 and social skill are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 1.51. The research concluded that  (1) PBI+STAD learning model does not affect the higher order thinking skills in 10th  grade students in  SMA  Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar,  (2) PBI+STAD  learning model does not affect the social skills in 10th grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar.
