Abstract

This research was motivated by the discovery of white tofu preserved using formalin. This study aimed to analyze formalin contaminants in tofu and determine the precision and detection limits of a fluorescence spectroscopy system based on high power UV-LED. This research was conducted in three stages, namely making samples, collecting data, and processing data. The sample was made directly in the tofu factory with the owner and the object used in this study is white tofu which was given a variation of formalin contaminants 0%-50%. Data were collected using a set of fluorescence spectroscopy system based on high power UV-LED that is connected to software LabVIEW and each foreign formalin contaminant test in tofu used five samples with three repetitions for each sample. Data processing to obtain bin values for each a variation of formalin contaminant was carried out using Microsoft Excel, moreover to find a value of precision and a detection limit. Based on the result, a precision test result of 100% and a detection limit of 12.05%.

Abstract

Electronic nose (e-Nose) has successfully classified the aroma of horse hide and pigskin. The sensor used by e-Nose consists of eight Taguchi Gas Sensor (TGS) sensors. This study uses a baseline reduction and feature extraction method with an average maximum value. The classification results between the two skins are shown by a graph plot. There is one TGS which shows no difference between the smell of horse skin and pork rind. The other TGS responds and shows the difference between the two skin scents.

Abstract

Research on installation and evaluation of early warning systems based on the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and the Internet of Things (IoT) has been successfully carried out. This study aimed to install and evaluate a flood early warning system based on the ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and IoT at a flood monitoring post, Boyong River Yogyakarta. Installation of a flood early warning system based on the HC-SR04 and IoT ultrasonic sensor was carried out by preparing tools and materials, connecting WiFi, and installing the system. Evaluation accuracy of the system was carried out by varying the distance between the sensor and the water surface, namely 5 cm - 200 cm with 5 cm intervals, while testing of precision and success were done by 10 times repeating for each distance variation. The results showed that flood early warning system based on ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and IoT has been successfully installed at the flood monitoring post, Boyong River Yogyakarta. In addition, the flood early warning system based on ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and IoT was successfully evaluated with an accuracy value 99.95%, repeatability precision 98.75%, reproducibility 99.27%, and success 89.50%.

Abstract

Abstract

Efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 have been carried out, one of which is by using disinfectant fluids. The use of disinfectant liquid is widely used on objects, one of its uses is for spraying disinfectant on shipping packages in the form of goods which are still mostly done manually. In this research, it is necessary to develop a disinfectant spray tool for shipping goods with a sprayer that moves automatically in the form of a COVID-19 sterilization chamber in the package using a spray nozzle based on the ATmega328P microcontroller. This research is limited to item size 20 x 20 x 5 cm and object detection distance of 1 – 20 cm. The tests include testing the proximity sensor, programming stepper motors and pumps, testing the mass of goods, and the system as a whole. Proximity sensor testing results for a detection distance of 1 – 20 cm obtained an error at a distance of 1 and > 15 cm, while for a detection distance of 10 - > 400 cm an error was obtained from 0 - 3.41%. The results of the stepper motor programming test for readers at a distance of 1-20 cm when the motor is on. The results of the pump programming test for object detection distances of 1-20 cm when the motor is on. The results of testing the maximum mass of goods 2100 grams. The overall test results obtained 6 out of 10 tests were successful where the indicator of success was when all surfaces of the goods were completely wetted by the disinfectant liquid and limited to items measuring ≤ 20 x 20 x 5 cm.

Abstract

Water quality monitoring in the aquaculture environment is often carried out by cultivators of aquatic organisms in order to monitor the health and suitability of the water. The usual way is done by laboratory tests that take a long time. In the last decade, researchers have developed water quality monitoring systems in aquaculture environments by utilizing sensors and other electronic devices to quickly determine water quality. A water quality monitoring system has been developed in aquaculture environment using PT-100 sensor, DHT-22 sensor, TDS sensor and turbidity sensor. Each sensor is connected to the ATmega328p microcontroller to be able to transmit water quality readings. The atmega328p microcontroller is connected to the Raspberry pi gateway to be able to transmit reading data to the internet network using the MQTT protocol. The MQTT protocol allows telemetry systems to transmit data quickly and in real time. The reading data can be displayed on a website page that can be accessed using the internet network in real time and can be accessed within a distance of more than 1,000 km from the monitoring site.

Abstract

This study aims to test the quality of cooking oil using the parameter of refractive index by utilizing a simple refractometer constructed from mica plastic sheets. The principle of testing cooking oil is based on Snell's law. The cooking oil samples used were four brands of cooking oil with new conditions which were labeled A, B, C, and D. of poor quality, cooking oil B with a refractive index of 1.547 refers to source 1 having good quality and when referring to source 2 it has poor quality, and cooking oil C with a refractive index of 1.494 refers to both sources having good quality. Therefore, it can be concluded that cooking oil C has the best quality than the other three cooking oil samples.

In the mobile learning application, there are various kinds of content, such as illustrated images, educational videos, sample questions, and practice questions. The research conducted has the aim of (1) producing products in the form of audio-visual physics mobile learning applications on the subject of Diffraction as a learning medium; (2) knowing the feasibility of audio-visual physics-based physics mobile learning applications as a supporting medium for students in understanding the concept of physical optics material. The research and development method uses the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this study is limited only to the development stage (Design). The product feasibility tester in this study was carried out by 17 people who had studied Physical Optics Physics and were studying in the field of Physics. The results of the analysis of the feasibility test of the product carried out, obtained on average on all indicators belonging to the very feasible category.
