Abstract

This paper assessed the impact of subsidy removal on school administration, teacher’s job performance and students’ academic performance in secondary schools in FCT, Abuja. Secondary data were used in the paper and the data were collected from both print and online publications. The paper concluded that subsidy removal in Nigeria have led to increment in operational cost of running schools, affected teachers job performance and students’ academic performance. Based on these findings, the paper recommended the following. Government should increase budgetary allocation to all secondary schools in FCT and in Nigeria at large. This will help school administrators to meet up with the operational running cost of running the schools. Government should provide school buses to all secondary schools in FCT and in Nigeria at large to aid teachers and students movement to schools. Government should provide instructional materials like textbooks, calculators, exercise books, drawing aids to students.

Abstract

Tourists leave their homes for destinations in search of new experience, they love to experience something they have never known or felt before. Many holiday makers do not put this into consideration while planning meals for tourists while in the destination. Some menus reflect what the tourists are used to eating at home offering nothing new in terms of food. The objectives of the study is to assess the acceptability of selected northern Nigeria delicacies by tourists coming to Bauchi as a destination and to examine the influence of tourists experience on local foods and whether achieving an authentic experience of local food is an important reason for visiting the destination. Survey method was used with two different types of questionnaires. The first questionnaire was used for the sensory evaluation of the six delicacies to be tasted. 250 tourists both domestic and international were used as taste panel group. The study reveals that local food experience is important to the tourists. Furthermore, the study finds out that authentic experience of local food is not enough reason for visiting the destination. The study therefore, recommends that, local food should be included in the menu of the tourists to enable them have memorable experience of the destinations identity which local food is one.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic brings with it disruptions in earlier established methods of undertaking task and rendering services, the educational sector in Nigeria being no exception. This disruption requires new methods for continuous professional development of teachers. This theoretical paper focused on the importance of new methods of continuous professional development of teaching staff in Nigeria’s school system in the face of the global challenges which affects the educational sector like every other sector. The importance of continuous professional development was underscored. Continuous Professional Development was viewed as a means where teaching professionals keep their knowledge and skills current so that they can deliver the high quality of service that safeguards the public and meets the expectations of customers (students), and the requirements of their profession. The paper reiterated the fact that the unanticipated challenges of the COVID -19, IDPs, etc. has put the teaching staff in the position of being relevant to offer professional services to whom, and where it is needed. The advantages of the technological age, aided by advances in Information and Communication can be taken advantage of, for teaching professionals to add to their knowledge current trends, alongside the traditional physical classroom instruction methods.

Abstract

The main purpose of Educational is to develop values of physical, mental, intellectual spiritual social and emotional in human being. The importance of Emotional Intelligence is increased than intelligence at work, academic or social place. This is too much importance of emotions in human life B.Ed. trainees are crucial factor for social and national development. So, the researchers has decided to study on this topic. The objective of present study to know the Emotional Intelligence of B.Ed. trainees in relation to their study habits. Study habits play a major role in individuals achievement and success. The researcher has collected the data from 100 sample of B.Ed. trainees by Random sampling method and She applied statistical techniques such as mean, median, interpreted the data, she found that there was no significant difference between emotional intelligence of male and female B.Ed. trainees. The result is also shown that there was no significant difference between B.Ed. trainees with emotional intelligence having good and poor study habits. This research will so helped for students, administrators and as well as academic institutional.
