Abstract

This community service project focuses on the integration of educational technology in early childhood education, particularly at Pre-School Little Bear Indonesia, to enhance children's basic skills. The primary issue addressed is the readiness of educators in utilizing technology, along with the challenges in providing digital-based learning resources and strategies. The goal of this service project is to build teachers' capacity in using technology effectively, develop a technology-based curriculum, and evaluate the impact of technology on children's critical thinking, creativity, and social interaction skills. The approach used is Service Learning (SL), which involves teacher training, classroom observations, interviews with parents, and evaluative surveys on the use of digital media. The results show that educational technology can increase children's engagement in learning, but it requires infrastructure support and continuous teacher training to ensure its optimal and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This community service project, conducted in Bugel Hamlet, Karangrejo Village, focuses on improving cocoa farming through the use of bokashi fertilizer as an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers. The project aims to enhance soil fertility and cocoa seedling growth while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), local farmers were actively involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases. The research methodology included observation, interviews, and field studies. Results showed that bokashi fertilizer significantly improved soil health, increased cocoa productivity, and fostered a better balance of soil microorganisms compared to chemical fertilizers. The project empowered local farmers by providing them with an eco-friendly solution for enhancing cocoa farming, with the potential to increase productivity, support local economic growth, and contribute to long-term environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of a community-based nutrition education program aimed at improving the knowledge and dietary practices of residents in Jatimulyo Village, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program engaged local residents, schoolchildren, and health workers in learning about balanced nutrition through workshops and interactive activities. The results demonstrated a significant increase in participants' knowledge about the importance of a balanced diet, with 70% of participants showing improved awareness of essential nutrients. Furthermore, the program led to positive changes in dietary practices, including increased consumption of fruits and vegetables and healthier cooking methods. Despite challenges such as cultural resistance and economic constraints, the program successfully empowered the community to adopt healthier eating habits. Abstract

This study examines the impact of entrepreneurship training on the empowerment of women in Tambakboyo Village, East Java. Through a participatory action research (PAR) approach, the research explores how training programs can enhance women’s business skills, self-confidence, and income-generating capacities. The findings indicate that the training significantly improved participants' understanding of business management, financial planning, and marketing strategies. However, challenges such as limited access to capital and societal barriers persist, limiting the full potential of the trained women. The study highlights the importance of continued support through financial services, community engagement, and policy reforms to overcome these barriers. Ultimately, the research suggests that entrepreneurship training, when combined with necessary resources and societal changes, can empower rural women, fostering sustainable economic development and contributing to social change within their communities
