Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of news credibility and the type of news on @batamnewsonline Instagram content on followers' level of trust. Information is considered very important nowadays, because information is needed by people to find information about the things they are looking for. The Instagram account @batamnewsonline spreads information especially in Batam City. Fulfilling information needs must have a message that has credibility from the media that conveys the message. The research method used is a quantitative method with descriptive research type. Based on the results obtained from data processing, it can be concluded that there is an influence of news credibility and the type of news on @batamnewsonline Instagram content on followers' trust with Fringing of 393,164 > Fubl 3,087 and a significance level of 0.000 which is 0.05. The big influence of news credibility and type of news on @batamnewsonline Instagram content on followers' trust is 88.7%.

Abstract

Malay culture is a culture that has been passed down from generation to generation and is carried out by the community. It cannot be denied that the Malay civilization is one of the foundations of civilization in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, up to Madagascar and South Africa, which are countries that are members of Southeast Asia. One of the regions in Indonesia that adheres to Malay culture is the Riau Islands province, where this culture is described by one of the Youtube channel accounts, Apresiasi Dari Riau Islands. This channel depicts Malay culture packaged in the form of video content. The aim of this research is to find out the patterns and forms of communication found on the Apresiasi Dari Kepri channel, as well as to see how Malay culture is displayed on this channel. The data collection technique in this research is a data collection technique using netnography which can be done via the internet to communicate with participants. The method used is netnography and a qualitative approach. The results of this research are that there are two communication patterns found on the Appreciation From Kepri YouTube channel, namely a linear communication pattern and a reciprocal or two-way communication pattern. The form of communication found on this channel is a form of mass communication, and this channel depicts Malay culture based on habits that actually occur in Malay society in a certain area.

Abstract

This research was carried out in a high school (SMA) environment with the aim of finding out how teenagers are exposed to Instagram social media content, the uses or interests of teenagers in using Instagram social media and the influence of exposure to Instagram social media content on teenagers' personal character. Instagram is a social media whose active users are teenagers, therefore Instagram social media has a significant personal influence. The research method used in this research is the quantitative method, while the theory used is the S-O-R theory. The population in this study were female students at SMAN 4 Batam with a total of 1,891. Determining the sample in this study used random sampling techniques and the process of determining the number of samples used the Slovin formula so that from this formula a sample of 95 students was produced. Techniques for data analysis use descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests, multiple regression and hypothesis tests. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis are Y=20.89 + 0.353, meaning the regression coefficient has a positive value, so it is explained that the direction of the influence of variable X on Y is positive. The results of the coefficient of determination test explain that the influence on the variable exposure to Instagram social media content is 37.6%, while the remaining 62.4% is influenced by variables that are not included in the research that the researchers are currently examining.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effect of ROA, EPS, and CR on Stock Price for the period 2019 – second quarter of 2023. The study tested nine manufacturing companies listed on the LQ45 index during the period 2019 - the second quarter of 2023. Data collection techniques in this study use documentation studies and literature studies with purposive sampling techniques as sampling techniques. The type of data used is secondary data in the form of financial statements obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis and uses classical assumption tests including normality tests, multicollinearity tests, autocorrelation tests, and heteroscedasticity tests. Other tests used in this study are multiple linear regression tests and hypothesis tests using t tests (partial tests), f tests (simultaneous tests), and multiple coefficients of determination with the help of the SPSS program version 26. The conclusion in this study is that the t test states that partially EPS (Earning Per Share) affects stock price while ROA (Return On Assets) and CR (Current Ratio) do not affect stock price partially and based on test f simultaneously the variables ROA, EPS, and CR affect stock price

Abstract

Social Media is a digital platform or website that facilitates interaction, information exchange, and content sharing among users online. The development of social media has transformed the way humans communicate and present themselves. Digital identity is an extension of physical self into virtual space, and platforms like TikTok provide a space to build and convey that identity. Self-identity refers to an individual's perception and understanding of who they are. The purpose of this research is to understand how the self-identity of Content Creator Dio Prayogi is presented on the front and backstage, as well as how Dio Prayogi engages in face-to-face interactions. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review. The data analysis method utilizes the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The research findings on the self-identity of Content Creator Dio Prayogi reveal that on the front stage, Dio creates a more friendly atmosphere, utilizing humorous language, including jokes, banter, or funny language, often becoming key elements in Dio's speaking style. On the backstage, Dio Prayogi may be more authentic and reflect his personal side. Content creator Dio Prayogi employs interpersonal communication, including speaking style, word choice, and the way he interacts with his followers. Abstract

Communication has an important role for the development of tourism, especially in Batam City. In introducing ecotourism potential to tourists, in addition to good management of tourist attractions, creative and effective promotion is also needed. In this study to conduct tourism promotion, researchers used an integrated marketing communication approach or (Integrated Marketing Communication) IMC. The purpose of this study is to find out what communication strategies are appropriate for pokdarwis to use in promoting Pandang Tak Jemu Mangrove Ecotourism. carried out with a qualitative descriptive approach. Qualitative methods are carried out through interview techniques to resource persons by limiting interview points to relevant topics. Sampling through snowball sampling method is purposive until the data collected is considered representative. In addition to interviews, the author also made direct observations around tourist destinations and used documentation of data sources in the form of pictures of ecotourism activities, recordings and drawings, as well as records or recaps of pokdarwis activities. The result of this research is the application of elements of the promotion mix or (Mix Promotion) which includes: advertising (advertising), direct marketing (direct marketing), publicity (publicity), marketing (sponsorships), sales promotion (sales promotion). Abstract

Mass media is a component that cannot be ignored in human efforts to find the latest news. Media alwayshas a goal when conveying information, including political, ideological or commercial goals. To achieve thisgoal, the media often manipulates the news in a way that can influence readers' opinions to fit the desirednarrative, using framing techniques as described by Robert N. and Entman. Framing theory is often used toinfluence readers' opinions. Robert N. and Entman emphasize framing theory, focusing on certain aspects ofthe news to form a specific view. This research uses qualitative methodology, specifically Robert N.Entman's analytical framework, to describe the phenomenon in the news about Jokowi being registered as avoter for the 2024 Election on Cnnindonesia.Com and Liputan6.Com. Research objects include focus, timeand place of research, providing an overview and being the target of data and information. Choosing the rightresearch object is important for determining the focus of the research, including factors that influence andbecome issues of the research subject itself.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of internet technology has had a profound impact on businesses, particularly in termsof the convenience of online shopping. However, various challenges related to product quality, reviews, andtrust have emerged in this context. This research aimed to examine the influence of product quality, reviews,and trust on purchasing decisions within Shopee, an online marketplace. The researchers employed aquantitative research method, specifically an inferential approach, to analyze the relationship between variablesthrough hypothesis testing. A total of 204 respondents participated in the study, and data was collected throughonline questionnaires employing a Likert scale. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. Fromthe test results, the t value of the product quality variable countsvariable X1 is 5.188 > t table (1.972) or thesignificance value of the motivation variable is 0.000 < 0.05, so the hypothesis is accepted. The findings revealeda positive and significant impact of product quality, product reviews, and trust on purchasing decisions withinShopee in Batam City

Abstract

The research done by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) in Batam City focuses on the role, techniques, and challenges encountered in supervising imported commodities. The role of DJBC in Batam City is crucial since it oversees the importation of commodities, ensures adherence to customs procedures, and combats smuggling. The DJBC employs legal restrictions, such as the Customs Law, to oversee the transportation of imported products. Despite the use of monitoring techniques such as physical inspection and cross-border supervision by DJBC, there are still impediments that impede their effectiveness. Obstacles that arise include insufficient resources, limited public knowledge of import rules, and inadequate information concerning smuggling operations. The city of Batam's advantageous geographical position in close proximity to neighboring nations, including Singapore and Malaysia, further complicates the task of monitoring imported commodities. Enhancing public legal knowledge and ensuring sufficient resources can enhance DJBC's ability to effectively fulfill its supervisory responsibilities in safeguarding the interests of the state and society.

Abstract

Swiss-Bell Harbour Bay Batam Hotel, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, undergoes a study aiming to unveil its post-pandemic image maintenance strategy. With qualitative methods, the research explores inhibiting and supporting factors influencing the hotel's public relations efforts. Using Cutlip, Center, and Broom's public relations strategies, the study employs interviews, documentation, observation, and literature studies for data collection. Public Relations adopts various tactics, emphasizing technological utilization, regular market analysis, events, CSR initiatives, and a consistent commitment to superior service quality. However, challenges persist, notably in employee turnover and reduced foreign guest visits post-COVID-19. Conversely, supporting factors include fostering a pleasant work environment, leveraging word-of-mouth marketing, and forming collaborations with other hotels. In essence, Swiss-Bell Harbour Bay Batam Hotel's post-pandemic image maintenance strategy hinges on technology, market awareness, and quality service, with challenges arising from employee turnover and diminished international guests countered by a positive workplace environment, effective marketing, and strategic partnerships.
