Abstract

In an era where information technology is pervasive, education is impacted significantly. One technology being adopted is face recognition for student attendance authentication, which is more resistant to forgery and manipulation than methods like RFID cards. It offers high accuracy and can function under various conditions, making it effective and efficient. Student attendance is crucial for the effectiveness of the learning process. Traditional methods have limitations in accuracy, speed, and convenience. Institutions have shifted to technology-based methods such as mobile applications or RFID devices, which still require physical interaction. Face recognition, with deep learning, promises to streamline the attendance process by enhancing accuracy and efficiency. Deep learning processes complex data, such as facial images, with high accuracy. Integrating face recognition with deep learning can address challenges like pose variation, facial expressions, and lighting conditions. The objectives of this research aim to make a substantial contribution to the current development of student attendance technology, improving administrative processes in educational institutions.

Abstract

This study is conducted at consulting services. However, not all conculting services can be accepted by customers. The author in this study obtained data from up to 30 customer respondents, then carried out IPA and Servqual calculations. Based on the IPA results, the highest score was providing complete service with a Tki level of 83.33 and the lowest was that the staff scheduled meetings with customers quickly. with Tki 43.88. There are 7 statements in Science Quadrant I, 7 statements in Quadrant II and 3 statements in Quadrant III and 6 statements in Quadrant IV. Based on the results from SERVQUAL, the highest customer satisfaction is in the Emphaty dimension with Q: 0.81 and the smallest is in Responsiveness at 0.43.

Abstract

Presently, the facility layout at PT OSI Electronics Automotive Division is facing challenges. There is a significant distance between work stations, resulting in a longer material transfer distance and increased time for moving goods between work units. The objective of the performed research is to expedite the transfer of materials and propose recommendations for enhancing the layout of the firm's facilities. This will enable the company to decrease material handling expenses and minimise the distance required for material transfer. The stages conducted in this investigation encompass: Gathering data on the spatial separation of production lines, the quantity of workstations, and the dimensions of each production line. The acquired data was subsequently subjected to the Blocplan methodology for processing, followed by an examination of the optimisation outcomes, calculations, discussions, and ultimately drawing conclusions to determine the ultimate layout design. The most optimal plan for achieving efficiency and smoothness in the production process is layout 2, which is derived from software processing. Proposed schedule. The current configuration has a material handling distance of 68.46 metres, significantly shorter than the original layout's distance of 185.5 metres. Consequently, the overall distance for moving materials is reduced by 117.04 metres. The daily material handling cost for this proposed plan is IDR 1,288,760, which is lower than the material handling cost per metre in the initial layout, which was IDR 3,492,038. Consequently, the corporation can reduce its daily material handling expenses by IDR 2,203,278.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health are crucial aspects in high-risk jobs, especially those conducted at heights. This study examines the safety risks in one of the remodeling contractor companies in Batam City, a small and medium enterprise engaged in various high-altitude construction projects in Batam City. The research aims to analyze and measure the risk levels and understand potential accidents that might occur in high-altitude work. The research methods include interviews, direct discussions, and data collection from company documents, using the Australia/New Zealand AS/NZS 4360:2004 standard. A semi-quantitative risk analysis was conducted to identify risk levels categorized as high, medium, and low. The results show 21 risks at the "Very High" level, 24 risks at the "Priority 1" level, 26 risks at the "Substantial" level, 5 risks at the "Priority 3" level, and 4 risks at the "Acceptable" level. The main risks include slipping ladders, slippery floors, and falls from heights. Mitigation recommendations include installing rubber pads on ladders, replacing damaged ladders, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, safety helmets, and safety harnesses. Implementing engineering controls, administrative controls, and appropriate use of PPE is crucial in reducing workplace accidents. The study recommends more intensive OSH training and the development of technology to enhance safety in high-altitude work.

Abstract

This research aims to design a motor vehicle license plate detection system using web-based OpenCV, applied in the Sandona residential complex, Batam. This system replaces access cards for entry, enhancing security by automatically detecting registered vehicle license plates. If registered, the gate opens automatically. The methodology includes preliminary studies, literature review, preparation of tools and materials, design, as well as testing and analysis. The system uses NodeMCU ESP8266, a webcam, a servo motor, an ultrasonic sensor, and software developed with Python and OpenCV for image processing. The detection process involves capturing images of license plates, processing the images to extract numbers, and matching them with a database for validation. Testing results show an accuracy rate of 75% under optimal conditions. Accuracy is influenced by the position of the license plate, which must be upright and straight to the camera, as well as adequate lighting conditions. Under ideal conditions, the system works well and can improve access efficiency and security in the Sandona residential complex. Abstract

Employees who break the rules have a negative impact on the quality of the products they produce. They may also not finish their work, be disinterested in cooperating with others, enjoy gossip, arrive late or skip work, get into arguments with coworkers, or steal company property without authorization. Defects were discovered as a result of workers' reduced focus on production quality as a result of goal pressure. This research aims to ascertain how employee discipline, performance, and both employee and performance discipline affect product quality, as well as the outcomes of using the Fishbone Diagram approach to investigate product quality. Fishbone diagrams and multiple linear regression analysis techniques are used in this quantitative study design. The study's findings indicate that there are factors that affect product quality and cause problems with performance and discipline, including man, material, method, machine, and environment factors. Additionally, there is a positive and significant relationship between employee performance and discipline on product quality at PT Siix Electronics Indonesia. These findings are in addition to the finding that there is a positive and significant relationship between employee performance and discipline on product quality at PT Siix Electronics Indonesia.

Abstract

CV. Hans Printing is a printing business that specializes in producing text and images on print media, currently operating with manual business processes. This approach results in delayed information reception by relevant parties and significantly slows down the sales process due to the reliance on a manual system. In the face of Industry 5.0 competition, a well-planned strategy is essential to overcome emerging challenges and seize arising opportunities. Consequently, small businesses like printing companies also need to adopt the latest technology, such as sales systems that enhance order management, inventory control, and customer or distributor information. The research employs a qualitative method. Through this qualitative approach, the study aims to provide deep insights into how digitalization can effectively increase the visibility of printing businesses through websites. To structure and organize the design process efficiently, the mind mapping method will be used. This method will help in systematically collecting and relating information, making the web application design more interactive and cohesive. Additionally, the prototype method will be incorporated to create a preliminary model of the web application. This approach allows for iterative testing and refinement based on user feedback, ensuring that the final product meets the needs and expectations of the business and its customers. The website design process will utilize PHP to achieve the goal of enhancing the visibility of the printing business.
