Abstract

In the digital era, the internet has become essential to daily life for all age groups, including children. Social media platforms like WhatsApp, YouTube, and TikTok are now integral to daily life, serving communication, news dissemination, entertainment, and promotional purposes. However, excessive use can lead to addiction and negatively impact learning, especially among children at the Al-Ikhlas Orphanage. This study employs data mining with the Naïve Bayes algorithm to analyze survey data on social media usage and its impact on learning enthusiasm. Naïve Bayes was selected for its high classification and prediction accuracy. Using RapidMiner software, the study found that social media significantly influences children's learning enthusiasm, achieving an accuracy rate of 85%. For the "strongly agree" class, precision is 92.86% and recall is 86.67%, while for the "disagree" class, precision is 66.67% and recall is 80.00%. The results indicate a significant influence of social media on children's learning enthusiasm.

Abstract

Along with the increasingly rapid development of technology in all aspects of life, it can be seen from the application of computerized system technology. Basically, computer damage problems are the most frequently encountered cases, such as slow computers when reading data, missing icons on the desktop, system application crashes or files that cannot be run, or error messages appearing that are not understood, these are the problems that arise It often has fatal consequences that interfere with the work or activities being carried out. Broadly speaking, computer damage problems can be divided into two categories, namely hardware damage and software damage. The purpose of this research is to diagnose damage to computers so that it can help computer users (users) to overcome problems or damage to computer hardware (hardware) and computer software (software), so as to save time and repair costs.

Abstract

PT Yeakin Plastic Industry is a company engaged in manufacturing plastic goods. The problem that occurs in this study is the high downtime that occurs on the injection molding machine. So that the amount of production does not reach the target. The purpose of this study is to determine the interval of preventive maintenance injection molding to minimize machine downtime. The method used in this research is Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). From the results of the study, it was found that the results of the weibull distribution obtained the maintenance interval of the A200 injection molding machine with the longest downtime, where there were 11 breakdowns in 6 months, and maintenance actions were carried out at the maintenance interval for 100.55 hours. On the A201 injection molding machine there are 8 breakdowns in 6 months, and maintenance actions are carried out at maintenance intervals for 144.44 hours. On the A202 injection molding machine there were 8 breakdowns in 6 months, and maintenance actions were taken at the maintenance interval for 122.97 hours.

Abstract

The rapid development of global industries and technology has complicated the layout of warehouse facilities in manufacturing. PT XTC, a major tire distributor in Indonesia, faces inefficiencies in its warehouse layout, causing cross movements, poor space utilization, and difficulties for forklift operators. This study aims to redesign the tire layout in PT XTC’s distribution warehouse using the class-based storage method, which groups materials based on popularity to enhance efficiency and productivity. The study employs direct observation, interviews, and literature reviews, collecting data on tire quantities, material inflows, and outflows from October 2023 to March 2024. Data analysis includes calculating the frequency of material movements, classifying materials into fast-moving, medium-moving, and slow-moving categories, and measuring penangan material distances and costs in both the initial and proposed layouts. Results show that the class-based storage method groups materials into class A (67.4%), class B (18.3%), and class C (8.3%). The initial layout shows a material movement distance of 3,514,000 meters and handling costs of Rp.509,530,000, while the redesigned layout reduces these figures to 1,045,800 meters and Rp.151,641,000, respectively. The redesign provides a more efficient space and lower handling costs.

Abstract

This study aims to create an automatic parking system using Computer Vision technology to reduce vehicle flow congestion in parking areas, specifically in Batam. Traffic congestion in parking areas is a common issue in Batam, and the application of Deep Learning technology, especially Computer Vision, is expected to address this problem. Vehicle image data is collected, cleaned, and labeled to facilitate the training process of the YOLO v8 model. The model is then tested with existing data and further tested using a camera. Through this system update, it is hoped to assist parking management in minimizing vehicle flow congestion in parking areas.

Abstract

Rafael Donut UKM is one of the small businesses that produce donuts with various kinds of toppings, along with the business of donut products experiencing problems, namely the high variability rate, so it is necessary to conduct research to reduce the product variability rate. The methods used to analyze variability, namely with Six Sigma and Taguchi Method to design quality improvements, are carried out by making Taguchi experiment designs as the right and optimal parameters. The parameter design used in this study is an orthogonal array matrix 16 with four level designs and five influencing factors. The results of the study show that these five factors can affect the variability number and design proposals generated from the Taguchi experiment based on the SNR of the effects, namely A4, B4, C4, D4 and E4. Based on research, it shows that product quality variability requires quality parameters to be designed to maintain the expected product quality

Abstract

This research aims to examine the business development of laundry services in Batam, focusing on Doc Laundry. The main issue identified is to enhance operational efficiency and marketing through SWOT analysis. The research methods include literature review, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and SWOT analysis to identify business strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Findings indicate potential for increased use of social media and digital payment as opportunities, alongside threats from competitors employing similar marketing strategies. Business development recommendations based on SWOT analysis are proposed to enhance competitiveness and efficiency in the laundry business in Batam. This study is expected to contribute to the development of SMEs in the laundry service sector.

Abstract

PT Tobacon is one of the distribution companies in Batam that offers quality and innovative coiling wire rope products to meet the needs of ship construction. The problem in this research is that the performance of the hydraulic wire rope press machine is not effective and the machine often experiences downtime, so that the output is not fulfilled. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that cause the ineffectiveness of the hydraulic wire rope press machine so that improvement recommendations can be determined on the hydraulic wire rope press machine. The method used in this research is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to get the value of availability, performance efficiency and rate of quality. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the main factors affecting the OEE value of the Hydraulic Wire Rope Press machine were availability with an average of 84% and performance rate with an average of 88%, caused by the lack of regular machine checks which resulted in engine interference. Improvement recommendations suggested to increase effectiveness are Planned maintenance by scheduling maintenance according to machine conditions, creating maintenance standards for components and machines and providing training to operators. In addition, preventive maintenance is carried out by regularly maintaining the main components and providing lubrication to moving components to prevent component wear.

Abstract

PT.Sumbartec jaya lievindo located in Batam, Indonesia, is a leading company in the manufacturing and technology sector. The problem that occurs in this study is that manual and automatic (CNC) cutting machines cause several defects in the plate, such as non-diagonal cutting and uneven edges, which result in defective products and interfere with the effectiveness of the production process. The purpose of this study is to measure machine performance using the OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) approach so that recommendations can be given to improve machine effectiveness by applying causal analysis (fishbone). The method used in this research is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as a tool to measure overall equipment performance. Based on the results of the study, it is found that the average availability value is 83%, for the average performance value, the value is 87%, while the average rate of quality product is 93%, and the average value (OEE) is 67% Thus, the average OEE value is still below the World OEE Class standard which is worth 85%. The types of six big losses that dominantly cause low OEE values on cnc plate cutting machines are reduced speed losses and equipment failure losses have the same value as Idling & minor stoppages. Idling & minor stoppages 17% is the biggest losses of all losses that occur and equipment failure losses are in second place with a value of 16.%.

Abstract

The creative industry makes a significant contribution to the global economy through technology, globalization, and changing consumer preferences. It includes film production, music, fashion, publishing, and digital creative services. However, creative agencies often face challenges in providing efficient services to clients, which can reduce satisfaction. To address this, the project proposes developing a digital creative agency application on the Android platform to enhance digital service efficiency with innovative solutions for service ordering.
