Abstract

What kids learn and how well they can think critically are both significantly impacted by the learning paradigm that is implemented. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of widespread use of the PBL paradigm in conjunction with Quizziz. The effects of the Quizizz-based problem-based learning paradigm on the critical thinking and learning outcomes of SMPN 1 Kamal eighth graders are examined in this study. This study used a quantitative research approach, employing a quasi-experimental design, to find out how the problem-based learning (PBL) model affected the learning outcomes and critical thinking of students at SMPN 1 Kamal, as well as their levels of learning motivation and material comprehension. Utilising the statistical tests available in the IBM SPSS v.20.1 program, the collected data will be examined for validity, reliability, normalcy, and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Based on the significance value of 0.002, which is less than 0.05, the hypothesis testing analysis using multivariate MANOVA on student learning outcomes and creativity indicates that the problem-based learning model with Quizizz as an aid significantly impacts student learning outcomes and critical thinking in the eighth grade at SMPN 1 Kamal.

Abstract

This research seeks to: (1) investigate the connection between students' motivation to learn and their academic performance, (2) explore variations in the degree of learning motivation, and (3) assess differences in academic outcomes between students who receive counseling through a video-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach and those who do not at SMKN 1 Robatal. This research makes use of a Non-Equivalent Control Group strategy inside a quasi-experimental design. A control group received no treatment and the experimental group received PBL with video assistance; participants were randomly allocated to one of the two groups. A questionnaire to gauge motivation for learning and an accomplishment exam were among the instruments used. When analysing the data, the Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the groups and Spearman's correlation was used to look for correlations. The results show that: (1) learning motivation and academic achievement are not significantly correlated (r = -0.161; p > 0.05); (2) the experimental and control groups differ significantly in levels of motivation (Asymp. Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05); and (3) the two groups achieve significantly different academic outcomes (Asymp. Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Although no statistically significant relationship was found between the variables, the research found that students' willingness to learn and academic achievement were both improved separately with the use of the PBL paradigm through video-supported counselling.

Abstract

Fencing is a very physically demanding activity that calls for quick reflexes, quick thinking, and both aerobic and anaerobic endurance. Consequently, in order to improve the physical performance of athletes, a suitable training regimen is required. Tuja Shuttle Run and other forms of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) are one possible method of training. The purpose of this research was to analyse the effects of a six-week training program called the Tuja Shuttle Run on fencing competitors' weight, BMI, VO?Max, agility, and speed. Using a non-randomized pretest-posttest design, this study adopted a quasi-experimental approach. Twelve male fencers from Magetan Regency, ranging in age from sixteen to nineteen, were there to get ready for the East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). We measured body weight and height to get BMI, ran a 20-meter dash to find speed, estimated VO?Max using a Multi-Stage Fitness Test (MFT), and evaluated agility with a T-Test. A six-week high-intensity interval training regimen was used for the Tuja Shuttle Run. A paired sample t-test was used to analyse the data, and a significance threshold of 0.05 was set. Several measures, including body mass index (BMI) (p = 0.031), speed (p = 0.000), VO?Max (p = 0.000), and agility (p = 0.000), showed statistically significant variations between the pre- and post-test results. These findings provide credence to the idea that fencing athletes might benefit from the Tuja Shuttle Run training approach by enhancing many aspects of their physical condition. So, this training paradigm may be seen as a different way to help athletes improve their physical performance, especially in regards to their body mass index (BMI), maximal oxygen consumption (VO?), agility, and speed.

Abstract

Students are required to be proficient in computational thinking and increase their learning motivation starting from middle school due to advancements in digital technology. 21st-century skill needs and teaching methods continue to differ, especially in terms of incorporating technology that facilitates systematic problem-solving. The Starch app is relevant for honing these skills because it offers interactive elements for practicing decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms. This research aims to investigate the effects of the Scratch program on the computational thinking abilities and learning motivation of junior high school pupils. In a real experiment using a pretest-posttest control group design, 35 eighth graders were put through a quantitative procedure, with 18 students serving as the experimental group and 17 students as the control group. To create expert-verified tests, we use the Computational Thinking Framework Indicators as our foundation. When analysing the data, independent t-tests are used. A t-test significance value of 0.003 < 0.05 and computational thinking ability of 0.000 < 0.05 indicate that the experimental group exhibited a notable rise in learning motivation, according to the study findings. This research demonstrates the successful integration of the Scratch application into learning to simultaneously enhance learning motivation and computational thinking skills, while also meeting the digital literacy needs of junior high school students in the 21st century, it also serves as a reference for teachers and schools in integrating educational technology into the learning process.
